I am desperate to get going with ED and installed for the first time via steam. The game performs so bad and nothing makes any sense. I am not a big gamer or GPU expert but things like Project Cars run "fine for me" at 40fps or so. I am not expecting anything fancy, but surely it should be playable?
It starts up and does the shading thing, this runs at 40+ fps, then as you descend into the start and the initial dock on the tutorial/training it drops and drops right down to 2fps, and here it is basically unresponsive. GPU, CPU, RAM, DISC all seem relatively idle.
I feel like I am missing something really obvious.
Tried so far:
- drop the quality right down to low, and it all has almost no effect at all.
- Re-installed game: To get back to default settings
- Running only Elite Dangerous ( not horizon ) : Same issue
System:
The AMD drivers are up to date (21.10.2), running in "Gaming Profile".
GPU: Radeon RX 580, 8GB driver version (21.10.2)
CPU: i7-4790
RAM: 16GB
DISPLAY: Philips 40" BDM4037UW
