Why do I keep getting orange sidewinder error code when trying to enter a planet

I was on my way to felicity farseer to start up engineering but when I get close (150km or so) I get orange sidewinder and sent to the main menu. I tried with several other planets and it does the same exact thing. This didn’t really bother me as I had other stuff to do but then I purchased Odyssey a week later for new content and can’t even launch the damn game. Horizons works just fine but I get the same orange sidewinder code trying to launch odyssey and am just done with it. If anyone knows any way to fix this I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything specific enough for help. Thank you

Edit: when trying to launch Odyssey I don’t get the option to select the mode either (like open or solo play) I just get immediate crash with the code
