Ok guys, I just made the jump to Odyssey (PC Horizons player that took time off).
Got it installed, started it up, got the "Present Day" text (while still hearing the menu music), and got an orange Sidewinder error. Kept getting it.
Did some research, saw the fix via AMD driver 22.5.1 (I've got an RX 480), installed it, and there's no change.
I can load into vanilla Elite, and Horizons. EDIT I'm in a Starport in Horizon. The screen I crash on seems to be setting up a planetary tutorial or something
Is there another fix I've missed? Delete and reinstall?
