[2021] Need help. Controls getting reset on their own.

Need help. Controls getting reset on their own. Newbie in the game. Playing on Xbox one. Need help. I have noticed whenever an interdiction happens or a pirate starts attacking, my controls get reset to default. Just when I need them the MOST :( .. to fight the pirates. I have not defined too many custom controls but only 2-3 which I need the most. Today it happened again while an interdiction and I tried to change back to my control settings (while in the fight), but the changes did not take effect at all. my assumption I might have to dock somewhere or restart the game and define controls again. Has anyone faced this kind of thing before. My xbox controller is fairly new and other games work just fine. So should be something in the game or am I doing something wrong? 😬
