[2022] New instability in Elite Odyssey?

Hi all,

I have been away for some three months or so. Yesterday I thought I'd get back in, kit out an explophantom and take a look at the new Odyssey beauty of the galaxy.

OK, I played for a couple of hours, it was not as smooth as I had expected, but what bothers me more are two full crashes of Elite, both times in witch space, with freeze, crashing noise on the headphone, crash to desktop, an error message from Steam and reboot required.

I am playing on a good rig, 5800x, 32gb, 3080, with valve index in VR. It could be Steam VR but it would surprise me considering it was both times in the hyperspace jump.

I must say playing Elite always was a rather stable experience.

Has this been noticed before?
