I'm having difficulty getting my hosas to work properly through steam so i wanted to see if I can get them working through the frontier version of the game since windows recognizes the sticks fine.

As Anzial commented, you'll only be able to log in directly through the Frontier launcher if your Steam purchase was prior to April 2019, otherwise you would need to be logging in through Steam. If you're still having this issue though, just pop us over a ticket (https://customersupport.frontier.co.uk/hc/en-us/requests/new) and our team can take a look into what might be happening :-)
