[2022] System freezes why? ideas

in ship or on foot, i go into a game menu (modules/ cargo etc) and the entire system locks up.

• Have reinstalled game
• have re validated files
• have reinstalled gfx drivers from a clean full removal
• have reset graphics settings in game

No other game affected, which leads me to something corrupted in EDO

not had issues before, this has started recently (not just with patch 14)

GTX 1060 card 527.37 drivers

ideas on which folder to remove to fix this as game cannot be played really?
