Setup:
GPU: AMD 6900xt
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
PSU: EVGA 700 BR, 80+ Bronze 700W
32GB Ram
Valve Index

It's been a good while since I've played Elite Dangerous but when I do I play it in VR. I recently tried to play it but I received the error "No 3D-accelerated display mode is available. Please check that your display driver is up-to-date."

I've checked in the AMD software that the GPU drivers were up to date. I've reinstalled the Elite Dangerous Launcher and the game itself from steam and nothing has seemed to work. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Many thanks.

Hey CMDR,

If there's an integrated GPU present on your system, we do recommend making sure the dedicated AMD 6900XT is being utilized.

To do this:

  1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop, and then select Display settings

  2. In the right panel, scroll down to look for and click on Graphics settings.

  3. Under Choose and app to set preference, select Classic app and click on Browse. Then, browse to the game exe file that you want to force to use a GPU.

  4. Once selected, click on the app and then click Options.

  5. Under Set graphics preference, select an option based on the AMD 6900XT.
