[2021] Issues with Windows 11?

So I got a new computer today.. came preinstalled with Windows 11. Everything seems to work fine except Elite won't launch. I.e. I run it from steam, I get the launcher, I choose Horizons, and then hit play and it acts like it's running but it isn't. When I go into task manager there's a elitedangerous64.exe running but not using any cpu or disk. I wait for like 10 mins and nothing.. have to use taskbar to kill. All other games seem to run fine on Windows 11. latest patches and nvidia drivers as well.
