[2022] Trouble updating the launcher

Does anyone else have a problem, when Fdev releases updates that require "upgrading" in the launcher, the launcher doesnt really want to update? For me it takes forever. Either i click upgrade and it just freezes for a while and when i come back its crawling its way through, or i launch the launcher through steam and click upgrade and it fades to "working" and says preparing for update for an equal amount of time. im talking hours long process.

Yes, my internet is good and direct connected. I update elite in steam first.

At this point the faster option would be to just reinstall elite, but that means completely rebinding my settings and im not going to do that. Anyone have similar issues and workarounds for them?
