[2022] Getting shot on-foot for no reason.

Setup: I receive a task to a random station for assassination. My standings with both contractor and targetted party are neutral (Did an account reset). I don't pick any items, I comply with the scans, I don't do anything illegal, I don't even come inside any buildings. I don't approach the target. My ship can't break any rules because I took a shuttle to the place and it's long gone.

Event: third-party performs attack on the base. I don't even pull my guns out. I don't use equipment. I maintain some distance (6-12 meters to the closest man).

Problem: Once defenders fight off the attacking party, they immediately turn hostile on me and turn me into minced meat.

Is it normal? Is there a way to prevent such thing from happening?
