[2023] Elite Dangerous Crashing With HOTAS

I just got an inexpensive HOTAS (PXN-2119 Pro) and whenever I have it plugged into my PC, my Elite Dangerous crashes. I checked for updates, but it stays at 0% whenever I try and validate my files. I'll uninstall and reinstall, but I just need to know if I have to turn on some specific setting or something.
