[2022] Hackers/cheaters at Community Goals

Hi all.

With the new CG starting this week, I wanted to put it out there that we have some cmdrs using cheat tools to attack others. This is not common, thankfully, but they are out there. Use of hacks is 100% against end-user license agreement policy, if that wasn't obvious. FDev has tools of their own to find and ban cheaters. Don't do it!

On the last CG, I was interdicted and destroyed by one of these cheaters. The idiot was using a tiny Imperial Eagle and destroyed my engineered Corvette with one or two shots. That is an impossibility without using cheats.

Be aware, especially you eager and brave noobs that think this is part of the game and it's all good. It ain't. Consensual PvP is, and so is piracy. You might get stopped by a pirate, asked for a token amount of your cargo* and be let go. Pirates are part of the game, wrong as it might be.

Idiots using hacking tools make their ships impervious to damage or their weapons over-powered to destroy you in a single shot. There is no fun or gameplay in this.

So, enjoy the CG in open mode if you wish. If you get destroyed in this manner, please report the user within the game and/or file a case with Frontier. Add the cheater to your blocked list as well.

Using cheats and hacks risks getting banned from the game. I'm not sure if my attacker is banned but he hasn't been on for over a week. Last thing he did was move his carrier away from the CG near Alcor and then silence. I'm playing in Mobius at the moment but will be in open, baiting cheaters to destroy me so I can get them banned from the game.

Finally, I apologize for the downer post. With all the recent bad new floating around, this is the last thing we need. Just wanted to make you all aware.

* This CG is not about cargo so bring your pew-pew ships to have fun. Bounty hunting is the best!

PS: please don't ask about/discuss hacking tools here, or the (hopefully) banned CMDR. It is against this sub's policy.
