Once upon a time, an old Dwarven kingdom that was once a happy place, fell in despair. When the Dwarven king wished to save his city, a fairy appeared, and offered a trade: she would enchant his favorite board game, and they would be safe, but they would play together forever. As soon as the king picked up the board, the whole city was sucked into the game, and in its place only a big forest remained. The drought came, the continent died, the waters carried away the board and for centuries the game was lost in the oceans of Elvenar, until it was found by a Dwarven traveling merchant in the shores near your kingdom. Attracted by the gems engraved in the box, the Dwarf headed towards your city to offer you this majestic present, hoping for a nice reward.
Dear Humans and Elves,
We present you with a brand-new event: A Gateway into the Past!
From August 2nd, until August 23rd, you will get the chance to play the favorite board game of the old Dwarven king, which is built around merging similar elements. The elements used for this are Dice, Dwarven Tools and Dwarven Figurines. By merging similar elements, you will get back elements of higher tiers. During the game, several Dwarven characters will come by, requesting specific items from you. If you manage to fulfill their requests, they will reward you with ingame rewards and Triumph Gems, which you can use towards acquiring grand prizes and the Royal Prize Lane. Some requests will also grant you Lucky Draw Cards, which you can use to win awesome high level Game Pieces or Dwarven Chips.
What are these 'Dwarven Chips'? In order to play the game, you will need to pay for the game pieces with Dwarven Chips. These chips can be acquired by fulfilling event quests, visiting your city on a daily basis, reaching certain quest milestones, and by searching around the outskirts of your city. Under the game board you will see three cups requiring Dwarven Chips. Putting your chips in one of the cups gives you game pieces that correspond with what's displayed on that cup. You'll also have a small chance to receive an upgraded game piece right away.
By progressing through the event and acquiring the rewards, you will be able to assemble the Dwarven Citadel building set:
This event will feature the Leagues system, as well as the Royal Prize Pass!
The questline consists of a story section and additional episodic quests, which start as soon as the story is completed. This means that you will be able to finish the first series of quests right away, while later quests have new additions released on a daily basis, allowing you to continue to play 1 additional event quest on each new event day. Fulfilling the event quests will also grant you Milestone Rewards at certain points along the way.
If you have any questions, don't forget to check out our Wiki pages, or watch the video explaining everything in detail!
We hope you'll enjoy trying out these new game mechanics and are of course looking forward to reading your feedback in our discussion thread!
Kind regards,
Your Elvenar Team
Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that there can always be differences in event layouts, balancing and prizes between Beta and Live release. In addition to that, please note that the final day of the event spans more than 24 hours, in order to not have the event end during the night (CEST). That means the Daily Exclusive on August 23rd is the final Daily Exclusive reward that is also available for some more hours in the morning (CEST) of August 24th. No new event quest is added to the quest line on August 24th, the final Quest Milestone can be unlocked on August 23rd.
