While designing the Spire Skill Value feature we announced with our latest Blogpost last year, we've tried a lot of different systems to make it work, as it is quite tricky to find something complex enough to do the job, yet simple enough to be understood and implemented. In the end, we went with a solution which is based on "surviving squads". This approach had a lot of upsides against other ideas we tried, but we still have one big problem to solve: the Twilight Phoenix's pet effect.
As you might know, this effect heals units after every battle. With a Twilight Phoenix at stage 10, this effect corresponds to 5%, and currently, "healing" includes resurrecting dead units too. This way, you could avoid having any dead squads in your... Read more
