Vanya was never happy with the lower half of her body. Due to a congenital defect, it was difficult for her to walk and she grew frustrated at always having to just...sit around. Her unique ability may have also played a part in her neverending frustration.
She always had visions where she was traveling to worlds that weren't real and were just out of her grasp. She saw little butterflies gathering around her, leading her to all these new and various worlds. But her family didn't understand—they mistook her ability for illness, which only made Vanya even more recluse and lonely.
Just like a butterfly trapped in a net, Vanya yearned for freedom. Wanting nothing more than to escape her family's clutches, she ran away to Lumia Island to find a sense of satisfaction and peace. Will Lumia be the place she can finally spread her wings and fly?
