540s recap
542s one of the biggest changes we had for
543s season five were the team mode changes
545s and the auto revive system although it
547s has been vastly popular in korea i have
550s seen that it it does have mixed opinions
553s in other regions we're keeping an eye on
555s it and we're seeing if there are other
556s ways to improve the system there's also
559s already some prepared changes that i'll
561s go over today in just a few
564s we also had the increase in materials
567s patch for lumia island it made farming
569s much more forgiving and also easier to
571s get the materials you need
573s there's still the issue of being unable
576s to secure materials in
578s in areas where a large amount of the
580s lobby has dropped
582s at the start of the game mostly cemetery
584s for today
585s for this current meta but that's going
588s to be also addressed with one of the
589s features of the upcoming season six
594s active items were also added in season
596s five unfortunately we do believe that
599s this was a lackluster change than what
601s we have hoped for however because it's
604s only been used by a handful and it's
606s mostly locked behind special materials
608s in team modes with the upcoming changes
610s to season six getting your hands on
612s special materials will become much more
614s easier than before and we hope that this
616s could also improve this feature as well
619s also new effect new active effects are
621s also on the way so keep an eye on that

625s an unexpected impactful change was

630s hilarious situations and cool combos as

639s combat ping removal was also a big
641s change also although we still chant our

758s however revival reviving on the other
760s hand can't be chosen and is an action
762s that must be performed so couple this
764s with only reviving with happier hp and
766s sp it and it creates a kind of an unfair
769s scenario so what we're currently
771s thinking is to provide a small movement
773s buff just like at the start of the game
775s so that it's easier to escape
776s unfortunate situations
779s and long-term goals prioritizing

802s something that we'd be keeping an eye on

808s revives but ever since the update there
810s have been more and more teams reaching
812s the final area due to the auto revive

815s to address this the temporary restricted
817s area feature will also be making it into
819s team modes this was originally going to
821s be on the start of preseason but due to
824s a slight delay it will be added with the
826s start of season 6. although we would
829s like some testing in preseason the
831s gimmick was already kind of okay in
833s solos and it's becoming a more and more
835s it's becoming more and more needed in
837s the team team modes right now so yeah
840s it's gonna be added in season six
843s some improvements to the temporary area
845s will also be shown later this stream so
846s keep an eye on that an extra change is
849s the avenue restricted area being larger

853s which is pretty cool

860s controversial thing with team modes
862s gaining crash with gaining traction
864s character roles are becoming much more

867s however most of the characters that are
869s present now were designed for solos
871s which means that they mostly can do
873s damage they have mobility while also
875s being semi-tanky so basically they're
877s all rounders
879s with t-moves rising and with also the
881s addition of cobalt protocol there's a
883s lot of buzz surrounding characters with
885s special roles as you can see on the
887s screen there's assassins mages
889s paying supports

893s so now we reach the
895s question of so what mode are you going
897s to focus on
898s the answer to that is that we will try
900s and take care of all three the modes
902s however start starting to have distinct
904s characteristics from each other
907s it may be surprising to our english
908s speaking communities but squads is
911s currently our most played mode when it
913s reaches
915s uh the weekends squad normal squads
917s reaches a very big amount of our games
921s the casual fun that it just provides
923s it's just too good when you're playing
924s with other friends and i believe that's
927s the main point
928s of the mode
930s duos also showed a lot of success in the
932s competitive scene
934s our erc and erl are clear examples of
936s that usually squads have a lot of
938s downtime in tourneys because fights
940s would happen happen less because there's
942s less teams across the board
945s and solos would usually bring the most
946s viewers
948s but the balance and matchup issues
951s were the most impactful in modes when we
953s do solo tournaments
955s duo's is most likely the modes that's
957s the sweet spot between the two and we
960s think that duos may be the way to go
962s when we when it comes to our competitive
964s scene
965s all things considered though solos is
967s still the most played mode in terms of
969s ranked and it's still the baseline of
971s which besides your skill level in game
975s this is the current situation but it
977s could change as time goes on there's not
979s really a main mode and we're always
981s flexible on choosing which mode you want
983s to focus on and for now we're going to
985s focus on all three
989s okay so now i'm going to show you our
990s rundown on season six about how we're
992s going to do our modes
994s solo mode will continue to be the point
996s of balance in season six and other modes
999s will be using the adjustments like
1000s before however adjustments do have their
1003s limits and team modes do need characters
1005s that need that needs to meet specific
1008s roles
1009s for character diversity and positions
1011s they may be new characters coming out in
1012s the near future that could fit specific
1015s roles such as tanks or supports
1017s this does not mean that we're dropping
1019s solo mode characters as a whole but it
1021s just means that there may be characters
1023s that can be a bit harder to use in solos
1026s priya was the most recent example
1030s erl will can continue to be held with
1032s duo modes but this does not mean the
1035s souls and squad attorneys are off the
1036s table we recently are having the season
1040s cup which was our first journey in ages
1042s and we'll see how we can expand on that
1044s further as we move into season six we
1046s can try out duos maybe if you're really
1048s into it we can try squats or maybe we
1051s can always go with solos as well

1055s it's time it's time it's time everyone

1060s we're talking about balance
1062s let's go
1064s okay
1065s when it comes to balance the most asked
1067s question is
1069s what does nimble neuron balance upon
1073s the answer is that stats are the most
1076s subjective criteria when it comes to
1077s balance but we're always thinking about
1080s what we can match
1081s how we can match balancing with stats
1084s with the actual balance that players
1086s feel
1087s the first thing we look for balance is
1089s the top 1000 stats
1091s pick rate is especially important
1093s in solo if a character with a specific
1095s weapon type reaches 5.5 pick rate which
1098s is about 1 in 18
1100s that means it averages at least one pick
1103s per game
1104s that means it's almost certainly going
1105s to get nerfed
1106s if the pick rate is around four percent
1108s we usually look at other stats too such
1111s as win rate and average kills
1113s usually a win rate of 10 or higher or an
1116s average kill rate of 1.3 or higher is
1119s considered to get a nerf
1121s if the pick rate is around two percent
1123s we we use a stricter criteria of 12 win
1127s rate and a 1.5 average kill
1130s if it's around one percent we usually do
1132s not nerf the character unless they have
1134s his stream stats
1135s characters with lower than one percent
1138s are almost not considered for nerfs
1140s i know this is kind of a
1143s info dump but please understand
1146s okay but however this all of these stats
1149s are not
1150s there's there's a catch these are all
1152s based up stats that are gathered for at
1155s least seven days or more
1158s the greedy stats usually do not have
1160s enough data and may can may provide us
1162s with incorrect stats
1164s currently out of all the stat and data
1166s sites to start the site that starts with
1168s an a usually provides the most accurate
1170s information for our patches
1173s for our hotfixes we use a much more
1175s stricter criteria since we do not
1178s have the we do not immediately have the
1180s data available for us
1183s even if a character is not that high in
1185s the top 1000 stats
1187s they may be nerfed if their stats in
1189s gold or lower or particularly high
1192s if a character has an extreme pick rate
1194s high pick rate or average kill rate in
1196s this tiers it may affect the game in a
1199s big way and could be scheduled for nerfs
1202s teemos are also adjusted with the same
1204s idea the stats we also consider here is
1207s the pick rate but since team modes have
1209s team comps and other variables we take
1211s these into consideration compared to
1213s solos so there's a lot more stuff to
1215s think about compared to solos
1217s usually we try to balance things out
1219s with the mode adjustments but can
1221s perform nerves if the situation is
1223s deemed impossible to solve through just
1225s mode adjustments
1226s that's what happens
1229s okay we talked a lot about nerves now
1231s let's talk about buffs
1233s buffs are actually much more harder than
1235s those than nerfs in general
1237s if a character is too weak it's bad for
1239s the character itself it so they may need
1242s buffs or anything but when the character
1244s is too strong it can maybe negatively
1246s affect the game as a whole so for buffs
1249s we check six different stats
1251s this will be the top 1000 stats for all
1254s three modes and also the top three the
1258s stats for gold or lower for all three
1260s modes as well these are the six steps
1262s that we check for bobs
1264s these are the usual stats that we use
1266s for balancing but there are also other
1268s exceptions as well immortal stats that
1270s are sometimes particularly
1274s different from other stats
1277s and we sometimes touch on that when
1278s there's a long ongoing problem
1280s problem in those stats as well
1283s average placements and objective control
1285s stats are also stuff that we look out
1286s for
1287s for duos the competitive scene is also
1289s something that we keep on keep a close
1291s eye on
1293s characters with multiple weapons like
1295s jackie are continuously continuously
1297s being checked along with other weapon
1299s types that are used by a lot of
1301s different characters
1306s okay
1307s now i think we talked about what stats
1309s do we usually consider for buffs and
1312s nerves mostly and it's mostly based on
1314s stats but there's now the question of
1316s how we actually buff the characters that
1318s are selected do we bump their ratios do
1320s we bump their cc their damage their
1322s durability what do we do
1325s when disguising these details we
1326s ultimately do need to take the vision of
1329s the original design of the character
1330s what we originally wanted the character
1332s to do
1334s in into consideration this vision can be
1336s different from what our players are
1338s thinking they they may think why are we
1340s encouraging aa playstyle when they
1341s should have been amp why could only
1343s damage when they say the issue is cc
1346s when we when we have a problem or issue
1348s of a character there are times where we
1350s directly address the issue or improve or
1353s adjust other stuff around it to make it
1355s better
1356s players usually prefer the direct style
1359s however cutting on this stuff may result
1361s in taking away the character's
1362s individuality and from other from these
1365s characters as well balance could become
1367s better but this could result in bland or
1370s boring gameplay you basically can have
1371s the same character for all the different
1374s you can have the same play style or
1376s power for every character which is uh
1378s kind of not what we want at the moment
1380s when we change adjust when we change or
1383s adjust or improve other stuff the
1385s extreme chat the extreme stats will calm
1387s down but our players could fee could
1389s feel that the main problem is still
1391s prevalent so that's why they mostly
1393s prefer the direct style
1395s we believe that this is a dilemma in
1396s maybe any game that has pvp there is no
1399s wrong answer it both has his highs and
1401s lows
1403s but we understand that it may sometimes
1405s not match what the characters are
1406s thinking

1415s let's move on stats are very helpful in
1418s setting us which characters to touch on
1420s however the amount of time the amount we
1423s decide to buff and nerf is a much much
1425s harder problem and the point of feedback
1428s that we receive when our patch with our
1429s patches come out
1431s the most the most feedback that we get
1433s is that our buffs or nerves are either
1435s too much or too little
1437s we do keep a close eye on the community
1439s since the players are definitely the
1442s most knowledgeable about our game when
1444s something is brought up by the community
1446s a lot it may be something that we made a
1448s mistake on in this case we carefully
1450s observe the stats regarding the issue
1452s whether it be wrong or right issue
1454s issues provided by the community are
1456s stats we tend to focus on
1459s for example there was a patch season
1462s patch this season regarding adela in
1463s which we nerfed the rapier weapon skill
1466s in this patch there were a lot of
1468s feedback that adela needs more nerves
1470s in the patch after that there were also
1472s a lot of feedback about hyundai dodging
1473s nerves
1475s in this case both characters were under
1476s surveillance and we checked their stats
1479s every 30 minutes
1480s adela stats adela's stats returned to
1483s normal after the patch and was clean and
1485s was concluded without any additional
1487s nerves
1488s in hindu's case data regarding him was
1490s not that good but suddenly spiked as
1492s soon as he gained access to windrunner
1494s this led to a nerf to windrunner while
1496s actually buffing hyunu
1498s there are also more recent examples and
1501s more spicy ones uh the most recent one
1504s being felix
1505s uh when we were nerfing felix felix's
1508s stats were really really good when we
1510s nerfed them and there were a lot of
1511s feedback that felix needed more nerfs
1513s than what he got
1515s to tell the truth felix's shared
1517s cooldowns are programmed as a separate
1519s system
1520s so there were some time constraints
1522s where we failed to touch on before the
1524s patch
1525s there's actually a lot of situations
1526s like this in which we want to do a
1528s particular change but we can't do to
1532s certain time issues we're going to talk
1534s about this more in in a few the
1536s conclusion we reached was the movement
1538s speed nerf which not only damages felix
1540s combat power but also his growth during
1543s the early stages because he moves much
1544s more slower
1547s after the patch the main talking points
1549s were felix and laura and both were on
1551s close watch
1553s the stature first were not good felix's
1555s stats in lower tiers were returning to
1556s normal and his win rate at midnight was
1558s around three percent after the patch
1560s with a average average kill rate
1563s and that's when we did okay we did it
1565s boys popped the champagne felix is dead
1567s we did it our patches are good and after
1570s that while checking other things felix's
1572s stats started to spike around 2am
1574s reaching the hotfix line by noon and
1576s which
1577s resulted in the emergency hotfix
1580s and that's where we made the mistake
1582s laura on the other hand still had stats
1584s in normal levels around noon so she was
1586s untouched
1587s however
1588s these are examples that we are still
1590s keeping close eye on the community
1591s feedback and we are we are always trying
1593s to look if we made mistakes or not so
1595s please voice your voice your opinion if
1598s you think something we did is wrong and
1599s we'll always try and listen
1603s also uh i'll talk about arguments a bit
1606s too

1607s there is a lot of speculation around
1610s arguments as well mostly regarding
1612s diamond shard and healing factor
1615s this may not be the answer you want but
1618s mostly when an augment is strong it's
1621s it's mostly because of the characters
1622s that that's using it currently so what
1625s we try and do is address the characters
1628s instead of the augments for now but we
1630s do think that this is an issue caused by
1633s the lack of arguments that we currently
1635s have
1636s so we'll try and include we'll try and
1638s include more arguments in the future so
1640s that we can provide more ways for other
1642s characters to touch on these
1645s so
1646s yeah we'll we'll keep a close eye on
1648s these and please give us your feedback

1655s variables and the community was right
1657s about felix and

1661s based on this there's a lot of variables
1663s uh regarding balance the community was
1665s right about felix the devs were right
1667s about the della and there's also special
1669s cases like hanu that needed deeper
1671s digging we'll continue to look carefully
1674s at community feedback so please voice

1679s besides all of these patches there was a
1681s one particular patch that we
1684s failed on which was very recent here it
1686s is
1689s the patch was the 0.56 patch which
1692s included spicy changes such as reload
1694s changes cathy changes and chloe changes
1697s it really pains us to say
1699s but when we saw the patch notes we were
1701s also panicking as well because we were
1703s saying why is this in the patch and like
1706s what i i don't know what's happening i
1708s guess you can say that it was a
1710s certified nimble moment
1713s the reason that this happens stems from
1716s our current working system and mainly
1718s branches and i'll go through that
1723s this is a rundown of our branches from
1725s early april
1726s so if you look at all of these branches
1728s these are all the branches that we're
1730s currently working on although it varies
1732s at time nimbu urine as a whole works on
1735s about 15 branches it doesn't mean that
1737s one person watches all 15 branches but
1740s it means that people in different teams
1742s work on different versions
1744s to implement big features that require
1746s over six months we have to plan them
1748s first we got to write plans do modeling
1751s prepare voices a lot of stuff happens
1753s during this time
1754s we this usually happens in this part
1756s when with the individual developments
1758s part we need to plan it we got to get
1760s the stuff ready
1762s and do it
1763s and after that's mostly prepared we and
1766s we got our components we begin to piece
1768s them together for example when we when
1770s we really when we're releasing adena
1773s we combine animations effects and all
1776s these other stuff to slowly make up the
1778s character this is our last chance if you
1780s want to change anything major since it
1781s would require a lot of coding so this is
1783s the part where we piece everything
1785s together so it's 0.60 so that's still
1788s like a month away and not to mention
1790s like 0.63
1793s finally we when we reach the main focus
1795s branches we begin to code all the
1797s components to ultimately reach the final
1800s product
1800s because of the interactions with our
1802s thousands of features and the 50
1804s character over 50 character roster we
1806s have a large large amount of bugs during
1809s this part and we we have to do qa we
1811s have to fix bugs
1813s and prepare all of that stuff so we're
1814s really so the branches that are handled
1817s here are usually really busy
1819s and after the pro after the patch
1822s reaches lives the branches are now used
1825s to catch bugs that made it to the public
1827s and we use that to fix them

1831s so what this means is that basically
1833s while we're writing the 0.56 patch notes
1836s we're also planning characters that will
1837s be released at the end of the year while
1840s also combining future characters such as
1842s still will be which will be released way
1845s later like
1847s almost at the end of season at the end
1849s of the season it kind of seems really
1851s scuffed but this is actually a pretty
1854s fairly common practice in gaming
1857s some project managers dedicate their
1858s whole time in organizing all of these
1861s stuff
1862s and since eternal return is a game
1863s that's in the genre with very many
1865s characters and also require many updates
1868s and there could be more branches than
1870s other games too
1873s this is another example of our current
1876s working system last time you said we
1878s would be slowing down on characters to
1879s focus more on other features but
1882s we're still not doing that yet and this
1884s may confuse a lot of our players because
1887s it feels like we're not keeping up our
1889s point of the bargain
1891s but this is because we're still setting
1893s up our schedule to make this happen and
1895s it seems like the boat is finally
1896s reaching to arrive at this point
1898s i said earlier building a character
1900s takes a really long time it takes
1902s animations and sounds at all that we
1904s actually have a picture here and yeah we
1907s have to do planning we get the concept
1909s art we do the modeling and voice
1910s animation coding qa all of these things
1914s take about seven to eight months
1916s and yeah this is a really lot of stuff
1918s that we need to take care of and
1920s basically when we announced that we were
1922s uh pushing characters
1924s we were mostly in the middle of already
1926s preparing characters that would that
1928s would be released at the end of season
1930s five
1931s so
1933s this is also a reason of our bad
1936s balancing for new characters that was
1938s recently brought up
1939s uh because of we because we touch a lot
1942s of these branches our schedule can go
1944s from in let's say in one day we can play
1946s tests felix in the morning then we go to
1948s elena we go to priya then back to felix
1952s and because of due to shifting in
1953s multiple versions when the bug is found
1955s mid-qa and is fixed the character may
1958s like feel completely different and
1960s balanced than what it was yesterday or
1962s maybe
1963s even from an earlier play test that just
1965s happened the same day
1967s the bugs and live are i know it's
1970s there's there's quite some spicy ones
1972s the bugs are pretty bad but the things
1974s that happen in play testing is much much
1976s worse and we do have to fix all of those
1979s there was one time where a skill would
1981s burn for your help where
1983s there was one time a skill would burn
1984s for 100 of your health so when it
1986s touches you it instantly kills you and
1989s it was really funny but like uh changing
1991s something like that would mean that we
1993s would have to balance that skill
1994s entirely so it's just a really hard and
1997s frustrating process
1998s however we have slowed down and as you
2001s can see in our roadmap too we're finally
2003s slowing down on characters so we believe
2005s that we can finally take the time to
2007s focus on other stuff and slow down on
2010s characters for now
2013s okay
2014s with improvements it's also the kind of
2016s same thing there's improvements that we
2019s can change with the whiff on our coding
2020s sheet but some things require weeks of
2023s coding uh the most recent chloe change
2025s and can't be ground removal for example
2028s were examples that took a lot of time
2030s changes like this usually pop up since
2032s the characters may need a balance
2034s adjustment in the first place or may
2036s require some adjustments
2038s uh this is one of the things that are a
2040s lot of our internal devs
2041s who are actually some who are actually
2044s pretty good at the game are really
2046s stressed out about
2048s we can request an improvement or change
2050s and it could turn out to take a lot lot
2053s long time for it to reach live
2056s there's always feedback that we get
2058s saying that we don't even know what the
2059s problem is and then doesn't know what
2061s the problem is but sometimes
2063s but sometimes we do know what it is but
2065s it just takes a long time for us to do
2067s it
2068s chloe and kathy are also related cases
2070s in the case of kathy kathy's ground was
2072s really really a powerful tool when she
2074s first had it it gave a lot of it gave a
2076s lot of power for her as an assassin
2078s creating hard combos for
2081s enemies to react to kathy at the time
2083s was quite the menace and this change
2085s would have helped her disagree
2086s this changed with that helped her
2088s decrease her high stats
2090s if this change would have reached it
2092s live it should have been at that time
2094s when she was op however time passed and
2096s a lot changed for kathy we definitely
2098s should have checked this beforehand
2100s or at least have made some compensation
2102s if we were going to make this change and
2104s we failed to do that and it would and
2106s it's on us

2224s bugs are also a related issue with our
2227s work schedule it feels like i'm saying
2229s this a lot i'm sorry but yeah bugs are
2231s also a related issue we said last time
2233s that we'll try and reduce bugs that
2235s happens in the game and actually it has
2237s reduced overall like if you see the
2239s graph the graph is actually
2241s going down

2244s uh yeah however the issue is that
2247s there's some bugs that we can actually
2249s fix with a quick hotfix while others are
2252s sometimes very hard for us to solve in a
2253s short amount of time
2255s it's really not our intention to cherry
2257s pick bugs this is not happening it's
2259s more of some bugs are hard to fix and
2262s some bugs are more easier to fix
2264s this is a problem so the most recent one
2266s was the shoeichi daggerbug and the
2268s bianca coffin bug
2270s the issue with ongoing bugs is that it's
2273s hard for us to pinpoint what's actually
2275s causing them
2281s it it's hard for us to pinpoint what's
2283s actually causing them if you know what
2284s it is
2285s if we know what it's causing it they can
2287s be solved relatively easy for us it's
2290s easier to have 10 bugs that we can
2291s easily fix rather than one bug that we
2293s can't wrap our heads on
2295s another question was that
2297s do we even know what bugs are happening
2299s after they've been reported and the
2301s answer is yes when a bug is reported
2303s they are registered into our bug
2305s tracking system bts for short and when
2308s they're in our system we try to
2309s reproduce these bugs every day by the
2311s hundreds if it's not reproduced then we
2314s have a problem and the bianca coffin bug
2317s and the most recent weapons through fog
2319s of war
2320s these bugs were the most recent bugs
2322s that had issues in us uh being unable to
2326s find a reason behind them
2328s usually this means we would have to
2330s rewrite the entire code and this can
2333s take weeks and months this happened to
2335s our bianca kaufman bug and we had to
2338s rewrite the code several times and we're
2340s really sorry that it happened we weren't
2343s uh we weren't trying to do it but you
2345s know like stuff happens
2347s and also when we change data or numbers
2350s there's not a really risk of changing
2352s them however when we touch on stuff like
2354s vision cc model changes that's also
2357s another issue the amount of codes that
2359s interact with stuff like these are much
2361s more wider than just the than just the
2363s number change and this these things need
2366s a full qa check of the change
2369s uh the shoiichi dagger selection bug was
2371s also a model issue of the dagger and we
2374s were really skeptical about how fixing
2376s it since uh we do not know what will
2378s happen
2379s when
2380s when we hop it it could create other
2382s issues more bigger issues that it could
2384s create so it's really hard for us to
2386s decide what bugs we will hotfix what
2389s bugs we will not have fixed and what
2391s what bugs we will have to start from
2393s this start from scratch
2397s in the end there's no real magical way
2399s on us you know like solving bugs that we
2402s can't wrap our heads up on it's just
2404s that we'll work much more harder to make
2406s four weeks become two six weeks become
2408s four
2409s so please continue to report any bugs to
2411s our support we're always listening and
2413s we'll continue and try to fix them to
2415s make a better game
2418s okay our last topic before we move on to
2421s season six and i know this is also a
2424s very popular topic it's optimization
2427s i know a lot of people would like to
2429s know about their optimization
2431s status and i can say it's a work in
2435s progress
2436s due to us pushing a lot of content each
2438s patch the amount of optimization we push
2440s for each patch is usually minused out
2442s which makes the game less optimized even
2444s though we are doing improvements
2447s also with optimization our programmers
2449s need to go into the core of our games
2451s coding so
2453s this means an inexperienced dev wouldn't
2456s likely be able to do stuff like
2458s optimization
2460s so we usually have our most experienced
2462s programmer handling this one it's a real
2464s difficult one for us to approach but
2466s we'll be increasing the number of people
2468s on this project for now
2470s it will be
2471s two plus people being added to
2473s optimization that doesn't mean too we're
2475s gonna add more people so please don't
2477s use that meme okay we also have plans
2480s for advanced options for settings we
2483s expect turning turning only shadows off
2485s will provide a significant boost for the
2488s options and we'll try and add more
2489s options too as we go on
2493s we also have two long-term projects for
2496s optima optimization too the first will
2498s be our unity engine update to the 2021
2501s version there's actually quite a big
2503s difference between the two versions the
2505s one that we have now and the 2021
2508s version
2508s so we do think that it will help us
2510s greatly but there's also a lot of work
2513s and we expect the arrival of the new
2515s engine to be pretty buggy so we hope you

2594s form mastery and special materials by
2596s going for object by going for objectives
2599s or killing animals or players
2601s the endgame is played with restricted
2603s area to determine the final survivor
2605s and this other phase we think has
2607s actually improved vastly with the
2610s material increased patch
2611s the farming became much more easier and
2614s it completing your build became much
2616s more forgiving
2617s if we increase materials even further it
2620s could feel better but we don't really
2622s think it would provide any significant
2625s change at this point
2627s the mid-game phase however became much
2629s more important mostly with the addition
2632s of objectives
2633s securing objectives meant that it would
2635s guarantee a special material meaning you
2638s will fall further behind if you fail to
2639s get these items
2641s and when players start to
2643s fall further behind people
2645s have to resort to dirt partying to the
2648s mid to end game and although third
2650s partying is a part of our game we are a
2652s battle royale uh third partying is our
2655s friend no one really likes the
2657s experience of being jumped mid-fight and
2659s that's something we want to fix
2661s so
2663s the this kind of flow of gameplay will
2666s be greatly changed with the introduction
2667s of three new features that will be
2669s introduced in season six those are the
2672s transfer drones transfer consoles and
2674s mutants
2676s let's start with transfer drones
2678s transfer drones now allow the instant
2681s shipment of white materials this can be
2683s done through the craft ui or your saved
2686s plan ui as seen here
2688s so if you see this item if you see this
2691s icon it means that it can be uh
2693s delivered by transfer drones
2696s although you can't instantly build items
2698s with just this system due to there is a
2700s set cost on which you which you gain
2703s credits which i will talk about later on
2706s but you can in the early game you will
2708s be able to get at least one or two items
2711s obtained through this system from the
2713s start so
2714s how how is this going to help

2719s okay transfer drones uh the drones will
2721s instantly grant your item into your
2723s inventory so the original plan was wait
2726s uh this is not the gift i want yes this
2728s is the gift i want so if you see the
2730s drones will instantly grant your item

2734s was to have the drone fly in from far
2736s away but was replaced in the final
2738s stages with the stealth trip drone here

2796s plans require you to go to a certain
2798s area just to pick up one or two items
2800s but using using credits you'll be able
2802s to save a lot of time by actually
2805s skipping that area as a whole and
2807s getting those items through transfer
2808s drones this could open a lot of diverse
2811s routes as well a lot of our internal
2813s testers also came up with very
2814s interesting builds utilizing transfer
2816s drones and i'm sure our players will be
2819s able to come up with much better builds
2820s and much more creative builds when the
2822s patch hits lumia island
2825s this can also be used in the late game
2827s as well when usually when you get the
2829s four score in like the
2831s end end game
2833s uh sometimes you won't be able to craft
2835s anything because most of the areas are
2837s closed and you won't be able to get
2839s bandages for auto arms you can't get the
2841s headband for elysian halo
2843s and it's kind of stressing
2846s but with this new system you'll be able
2849s to get those items quickly
2851s quickly and you'll be able to upgrade
2853s your items even in the late stages of
2855s the game when you can't get that
2857s specific white material
2860s so yeah they'll also they'll be helping
2862s you with your early game as well as your
2864s late game too
2866s and now let's talk more about the mid
2868s game this is where the transfer consoles
2870s come in actually our second new feature
2873s will be transfer consoles i said that
2876s white materials will be delivered
2878s through transfer transfer drones but due
2880s to limitations made by the researchers
2882s special materials can only be accessed
2884s through transfer consoles with these
2887s you'll be able to get materials without
2888s needing to contest certain objectives or
2891s relying on a rng drop from animals
2894s so as you can see here there's a slot on
2897s which you want to pick you can prick
2899s tree of lights meteorite metro vf blood
2902s path force core and even first aid to
2904s cat first aid kit

2908s so yeah but there's also this looks

2917s transfer consoles will only be available
2919s starting from day two and will require

2935s granted as a supply box

2938s if you're not near that place
2940s your your supply box is either going to
2942s be taken by someone else

2945s you know someone could come and fight

2949s uh consoles will also be disabled for

3059s so basically it will work as a chart
3061s system for your special materials so
3064s each time you
3065s kill a mutated wild animal it will add
3067s up to your upgrades
3070s mutants will serve as the middle ground
3072s between hunting
3074s deep it will serve as the middle ground
3075s for normal hunting and objectives they
3078s provide a guaranteed resource that will
3080s add up for a special material while also
3082s serving as a mini objective due to their
3085s power level

3173s you rather the whole game and someone
3175s with much more kills show up your you're
3178s basically wasted your credits because
3180s that guy will just come and take the

4684s you enter a bush your opponent can hear

4687s the opponent will know exactly if you're
4689s moving left you're moving right whether
4691s you're waiting to make a counter attack
4693s so when you're being chased it was kind
4695s of uh could kind of be strange
4699s so we're trying to reduce the amount of
4701s information provided by this we tried a
4703s lot of ways to tweak footsteps we tried
4706s reducing
4707s the range of footsteps we tried removing
4711s enemy footsteps entirely but in the end
4714s we settled on removing footstep sounds
4716s in bushes
4718s with this change you can now easily you
4720s can now more easily trigger opponents
4722s with your movements you can outplay them
4724s by going into the bush and coming back
4726s out and can try and prepare for a
4727s counter attack as well as well as juking
4730s too
4730s during our play testing this was deemed
4733s the most fun but please give your
4735s feedback on this because this is
4737s something that we're that we're trying
4739s out in preseason and we definitely need
4740s your feedback on this and if after we
4743s get all the feedback we'll try and
4744s improve this further

4752s improvements of our sound system issues
4754s like footsteps sounding like doubling
4757s these stuff and not very intuitive

5063s characters would lose individuality and
5065s also led to metas in which tanks would
5067s just stack defense and hp regen and they
5070s will ignore every damage in the game and
5072s magnus's will be swarming the last
5075s restricted area so what we're going to
5077s be doing is so we'll be adjusting a lot
5079s of skills to be reduced in ap ratios but
5082s we're also going to be adding skill amp
5084s ratios to existing characters
5086s for example adriana's q will be changed
5089s from true damage to skill damage and
5091s will have a new skill amp ratio
5094s while also having her ap ratios
5097s decreased
5099s so basically it's going to be skill
5100s damage with amp ratios and ap ratios
5103s msq will also have a new skill amp ratio
5106s for reduced ap ratio
5109s so we hope that with this change
5111s characters will have more diversity on
5113s which builds they choose and hope that

6465s other test objects or stuff on the jump
6468s pad can be moved too so if you're on the
6470s jump pad where you're with another enemy
6473s the jump pad will launch both you and
6475s your enemy to the other location so it
6478s will it can kind of create some awkward

6487s be there so it's like a semi-blast cone
