As people age, they tend to hold onto more secrets since they have more at stake.
Alonso, the eccentric old man, was certainly no different.

He tried to hide his real feelings with ridiculous outfits and hilarious jokes, but there was something he couldn't hide.
As much as he tried, Alonso couldn't stop feeling guilty for his turbulent past and the sins he committed back then.

He even changed his name and found a new, honest job but even this couldn't stop his karma from coming back to haunt him.

So he made the decision to vanish in order to protect the one and only source of happiness in his life.
