1130s upcoming changes in our Dev journals
1132s throughout the season
1133s if you've already hit 14 journals that's
1136s a lot
1138s for players that are curious why the
1140s journals are so split the reason is
1142s because development is still ongoing
1143s especially in visual aspects we're still
1146s polishing the changes and we want to
1148s show you guys visual samples instead of
1149s just a long word document which can be
1152s hard to read at points
1154s you realize that not everyone is keeping
1156s up to date with the dev journals so for
1158s the sake of keeping Folks up to date as
1160s well as remind everyone let's review the
1163s debtor notes so far we'll also talk a
1165s bit about informations we couldn't
1167s include in the journals so
1169s I'll try to keep it compact
1173s the first Dev Journal was the death
1175s Journal announcement the image you guys
1177s have probably seen quite a lot
1179s beforehand
1180s uh we'll visit back to it as the image
1183s has been a core idea and a preparation
1185s for launch
1187s we also showed a rough preview of the
1189s lobby screen with an older illustration
1191s of sicella and Jackie we'll be updating

1198s the second Journal started sharing
1200s information regarding the zoning
1201s constructions of Lumia Island

1206s the yellow marks in the minimap are the

1249s the campfires really helped set up the
1251s tone of nighttime in the game as well
1257s the next Journal was regarding wild
1259s animals we wanted to make PVE part of
1261s the game a bit more interesting than it
1263s is now while adding more rhythmic
1265s patterns in game sorry that's hard to
1268s pronounce my English has been getting
1269s worse since I've been in Korea for a
1271s whole year
1272s the biggest one so far has felt like
1274s being able to slay wild bats to getting
1275s vision control of a Zone players can
1277s make short to kill bats in specific
1279s areas if they want to kill or if they
1281s really want to get some vision
1283s wild animal hurts is also a great way to
1286s get credits and collectibles are now two
1288s parts and they save your progress at
1290s half this should really help with some
1292s of the unpleasant experiences fighting

1304s where we showed some of the first few

1319s but keeping it blunt I will be moving

1392s Chapel from Factory but with the new map

1408s of active skills or as the proper name
1411s tactical skills the changes acted as a
1414s way to control credits in the first
1415s place where players have to use credits
1417s to activate and upgrade their skills but
1420s uh you know that part got progressed as
1422s we went on and we wanted to diversify
1425s how the first night is played with hunts
1427s for credits going to campfires to cook
1428s we're taking earlier fights to gain
1430s weapon skills so the gameplay is not as
1432s linear

1442s save plants along with operator nausea
1444s is one of the most important changes
1445s especially for the non-korean regions as
1448s they help a lot with entry barrier for

1458s inconsistent with how people normally

1514s lead Islanders in your silence but
1515s gaining damage reduction
1517s which should help against skill based
1519s characters
1520s we also addressed piolos and cooldown
1523s and how it works
1525s characters such as Luke and heart that
1527s have Evolutions have now become a bit
1530s more distinctive and in a similar note
1533s ekkian also has more distinctive weapons

1537s the here Celine Chloe Bianca Eva and
1541s Nadine changes were also addressed I

1837s preparing for launch date
1845s one of the biggest worries so far seems
1847s to be regarding how big the changes are
1850s players aren't sure if they should be
1852s expecting something similar to their
1853s previous years of experiences
1855s they're worried that there might not be
1857s enough testing
1858s it's more worried that you turn return
1860s they know might be disappearing
1865s many players raised objections to the
1867s upcoming changes wishing for smaller
1869s changes rather than bigger adjustments
1872s so if you're here today to explain why
1874s we made
1875s our choices
1877s many of the player feedbacks regarding
1879s construction campfires and rank systems
1881s were fairly positive
1884s on the flip side tactical skills wild
1887s animal hurts and character skill changes
1889s have raised quite a bit of alarm among
1891s players
1892s in fact people may have even raised the
1895s question of is this direction correct
1899s as a fan of eternal return I I can see
1902s where players are coming from
1904s but let us really quick add another part
1906s to this question
1910s when looking at the features from a
1911s soloist perspective these changes are
1914s very alarming
1915s but when looking from a squad
1917s perspective
1918s what do you guys think did the changes

1971s Journal our situation isn't the best at
1974s the moment
1975s around six months ago
1976s we sat at this exact same table to talk
1979s about the changes that may come
1981s and we were deadly scared at the season
1983s 9 may have a player drop to around a
1987s thousand to two thousand player base
1989s but
1990s you guys stuck with us and we're super
1992s thankful for that
1994s and this topic is a bit more Grim but
1997s we're sure a lot of our viewers here
1998s today have already heard multiple
1999s stories of struggling companies
2001s especially in the video game industry
2004s and real no exception similar to them
2006s we're struggling as a low profit video
2008s game at the moment
2010s even though we're lacking the reason our
2013s investors stuck with us is because they
2015s also wanted to create a fun game that
2016s can be loved by our players

2054s points naturally they weren't sold on

2061s unfortunately the current iteration of
2063s the game cannot survive unless we take a
2066s bigger leap such as a new game a return
2069s return two the system we have right now
2071s is not sustainable
2074s the conclusion of the discussion was a
2076s limited time frame where we could prove
2077s ourselves with an upgraded eternal
2079s return focused on squads
2082s the investors would have to wait a much
2084s longer time if they were to give us time
2085s prepared for all four modes they wanted
2088s us to try again but with the two modes
2090s that generated the most player base
2093s Squad and Cobalt
2095s after proving that the game can be
2096s continued we are likely to get the green
2098s light to reopen deals and solos
2101s but at the moment the situation doesn't
2104s give us many options
2109s so players may be asking why Squad
2113s first reason is fairly simple at the
2115s moment squad has a large slice of the
2117s population

2121s more potential over Solas as well

2164s as we focused on solos for the last
2166s three years we suffer from major cons
2168s such as matchups only having one life
2171s and low retention rate
2173s when asked about solutions for these
2175s problems
2176s replying with an answer was fairly close
2178s to Impossible
2186s as a result
2187s we will be temporarily locking solos and
2190s Deals an official launch
2192s and
2193s we're terribly sorry for the bad news
2196s no matter what we say we realize the
2198s news is heartbreaking for many
2201s so we wanted to make sure players could
2203s know what was happening and why it was
2205s happening
2207s in the end the biggest reason was our
2209s failure as a game company to bring
2211s results at envir once again

2218s their patience the end of service would

2271s I especially enjoyed learning the
2273s different matchups and characters so
2275s much to the point where I would stay up
2277s endless nights to play the game and
2279s watch streams I will pull up old scars
2282s videos thumb sorcerer videos about
2284s characters that I had no interest in
2285s playing just to see how they worked and
2288s it got so bad that I got College
2290s advisors calling me and emailing me
2292s about my grade
2294s and it's not just me you guys may have
2296s rankbots created by amazing members of
2298s the community now
2300s but in the earlier days we didn't have

2344s around for solos are healthy in their
2347s non-specific areas
2349s that's why we want to reach fire with
2350s solos but with bigger efforts put into
2352s the fixing a lot of the plaguing issues
2356s while separate character kits may not be
2358s intuitive we won't be expecting newer
2360s players to focus on both modes at first
2364s we want to make sure solos is there for
2367s high rank competitive mode for
2368s experienced players
2371s and I know it may sound like a broken
2373s record but we apologize once again and
2377s we'll have to prove ourselves through
2378s our Squad first to gain another
2380s opportunity
2387s in this situation we're funneling our
2388s mode options ER 1.0 be about
2393s while the situation is challenging we
2395s still hold on to our beliefs that the
2396s potential of the game is there
2401s the image once again is the core idea of
2403s what we are preparing for launch so
2405s let's get into it now
2411s so let's talk about how new games are
2413s developed in the first place
2415s the first step is a core idea a fresh
2418s concept
2419s doesn't always have to be a full game
2423s a lot of the times it's a Mod Sandbox or

2433s game that you guys really love
2435s but these games have one thing in common

2447s in step one these games gain traction

2453s fans pitch in ideas for these games to
2455s keep developing the game
2458s and at this point and at the step it's a
2461s bit confusing because there may be 10
2463s player base or 10 fans
2466s and they may say 10 different ideas and
2468s 10 different direction they want the
2470s game to go in
2472s and for now in this Step 2 the best way
2476s to proceed
2478s is try everything just simply try
2481s everything get the feedbacks and start
2483s building depth

2683s Boba especially needs charming and
2686s attractive characters
2688s for the game to be entertaining

2747s well-balanced modes in that it had
2749s enough players while having teamwork
2751s aspects of it as well

2754s we're gonna match that through squads
2757s and now that we have enough space on
2759s Lumia Island through Construction
2761s it's gonna be great
2765s another issue that we had with six teams
2767s was that if one team was strong enough
2770s the chance that you would have to fight
2773s the overfed teams was way too high
2776s and if two teams got eliminated you'll
2779s only have four or three teams playing
2780s for the rest of the game
2786s but
2788s there is one issue and one concern that
2791s I'm sure you guys have which is
2792s optimization
2795s but
2796s we'll talk about it a bit more in frame
2798s report
2799s but I can guarantee you
2802s that our frame report so far in the
2805s 24-man lobby has been better
2808s than the 18-man squats that we have
2810s right now

3607s great for waiting out your own cooldown

3615s losing out DPS from your overall Squad
3618s and your squad can actually get hit by
3621s your opponents

3641s characters that have been overly simple
3645s so we'll be adding some aspects to

3691s we'll be moving Kiara's Q to be more
3693s shotgun based instead of a fusion

3700s rewarding to hit it up close because the

3703s cues you hit the more damage it'll do

3787s extended range on Ultimate extended
3789s waves on the ultimate and all that kind
3791s of jazz but now shukai will simply get
3794s more HP so you can focus on being the
3796s tank that he really is
3801s more simpler changes are to Daniel and
3804s 11. these characters have been awkward
3806s especially with how they were made and
3808s how they had to interact with solos they
3810s know being a assassin it's kind of weird
3814s in a squads format so if you actually
3816s added on a utility Forum that isn't just
3819s CC but a cool way is uh when he could
3823s cast W on an enemy
3826s the enemy actually cannot see vision
3828s from his teammates

3832s no longer
3834s gets supercharged abilities from using
3838s our R so she can't simply use ultimate
3840s into an instant aov taunt or instant
3843s jump but she will heal over time during
3846s the duration and she'll start dropping
3848s Burgers all over the place
3851s and if she steps on the burgers or her
3853s teammates have no Burger they'll heal
