Hello spacefriends and welcome to the latest Community Beat! On the heels of the very chonky dev blog about the future of EVE's API, this Beat will prominently feature several third party tools and contributions!

EVE Workbench 2.0 beta preview

Whether you need help coming to grips with the complex task of fitting internet spaceships or maybe you just don't have time to theorycraft your own fit and want to grab one that someone else prepared earlier then EVE Workbench is a go-to site.

The new 2.0 version of the site is now in preview and you can check it out here. In addition to an abundance of fits with powerful filters to help you find the one you need, EVE Workbench includes an array of other useful tools for appraisal, refining and markets.

What's more, if you log into the site with your EVE SSO, once you find a fit you like you can push it straight to your saved fittings in the EVE client with the click of a button! EVE Workbench is also a great place to store fittings for yourself or your organization when you can't log in to EVE Online.

Be sure to check out the EVE Workbench sister site Abyss Tracker which is a valuable reference site for capsuleers tackling the dangers of Abyssal Deadspace with even more fits and a loot tracker.

EVE OS

EVE OS includes what we believe is the first third-party AI-powered chatbot specifically trained to answer questions about EVE Online, so rather than write about it myself I asked the chatbot to do that for me. You can see here what it says:

No lies detected! The EVE OS site is impressively responsive and has a lot of useful tools, so go check it out!

Marquette - a new EVE market tool

When you get right down to it, the heart of EVE Online is not the giant alliances, the sweaty multiboxers or that one guy who keeps drawing [REDACTED] with mobile depots in Perimeter; it's the sophisticated, player-driven market because it's what enables all those other things. Enter Marquette, a new market browser which promises to give you an edge in trading. The developers write:

Marquette is a powerful tool that combines the features of similar apps, such as Janice or EVE Workbench, revolutionizing your trading experience. With Marquette, you can draft combined contracts for buying and hauling in-game items, always staying one step ahead of the market with real-time price calculations.

If you're playing the markets in EVE Online consider adding Marquette to your suite of tools!

All your Planetary Industry template needs

With the introduction of templates for Planetary Industry we knew the hero we needed would emerge from the community eventually. That hero has taken the form of Dal Shooth from Shadow Cartel whose GitHub page has over 80 pre-made PI templates for you to use in a single archive, from basic P0 extraction up to factory layouts for your high end materials. Check them out here and streamline your production lines.

As an aside - if you're a PI enjoyer who hasn't yet checked out the PI templates, this is an opt-in feature which is currently in beta. Hit Escape to open the in-game menu then go to Feature Previews and Enable PI Templates and save yourself a lot of clicking!

Massive Minmatar public fleet battle

Recently content creator iBeast aka LussyLou aka WorstPlayerEver has been organizing a series of public fleets, taking his viewers out into New Eden looking for fights. What sets his efforts apart is that he can summon a huge and very shiny NPSI fleet which means the only natural predators that can confront them in New Eden are similarly-sized bloc adversaries. This had led to some incredible fights including this recent one with a great video uploaded to the EVE subreddit by u/johnatanb. They write:

Yet another thrilling public fleet led by streamer iBeast! It took some time to find a worthy opponent, but patience paid off when FRT answered the call - bringing an expensive Nightmare fleet backed by two FAxes for an all-out brawl at ESS. Much respect for that commitment! As the fight raged on, INIT. decided to crash the party, swarming the grid with a wave of Retributions. Not long after, the Goons piled in with their Kikimoras, escalating the already brutal engagement. What followed was an intense, three-hour battle of endurance and firepower - the longest engagement where we've ever held the field. The experience was nothing short of incredible. The teamwork and camaraderie from my fellow public fleet pilots were outstanding - I was saved from certain destruction at the hands of a Heretic and a Retri. Absolutely loved every moment of it. Enjoy the carnage!

Here is the battle report from the fight and you can watch another great angle of the battle from Colombian EVE Partner La Forja de Orik here:

I Do Like to Be Beside the Siseide

Sticking with Minmatar things, since the last Community Beat there was a massive battle which went down in the system of Siseide, Heimatar claiming 500 billion ISK in destruction. BearThatCares from Minmatar Fleet Alliance wrote an excellent after action report (AAR) which was posted to the EVE subreddit with the accompanying battle report.

minmatar fleet

Minmatar Fleet Alliance has been moving and shaking a lot lately, and thanks in no small part to BearThatCares' battle reports and goodposting™ their efforts have caught our attention. We hear that they're recruiting.

That's all for this edition of the Community Beat! See you next time. o7
