318s got into a stream and I was actually
319s nervous but there's a lot of content
321s there's gonna be a lot to talk about and
323s you guys are going to have so many
325s questions I already know it it's going
327s to be insane but that's okay that's why
329s we do these streams is to have that
331s conversation it's to be real with you
332s you know the drill we want you to
335s understand why we're doing what we're
337s doing and where we're at in this process
338s so that you can be a part of it for us
340s with us right otherwise why would we do
343s Early Access that wouldn't make any
344s sense so uh let's cover what's going
346s down in this stream first okay
349s we have a couple of ux design stuff that
353s I'd just like to talk about
355s um and a couple things to show
357s kind of the state of what that looks

359s um and then we're going to be going into
361s a rift shortly thereafter

367s of dynamic level scaling which
372s no longer exists well there's a little
375s bit just a tiny bit just a tiny bit for
378s certain purposes but for the most part
380s it's gone it's completely we ripped it

384s um and what you're going to see here
386s today guys I mean it's incredibly it's
388s incredibly experimental okay so like
390s we've got a lot of issues probably
393s um that we're still hashing out
395s um and yeah so we'll talk about that
397s we're also going to be going through a
399s couple new jobs and maybe a side mission
402s maybe as well as more riffs more
406s legendaries of course of course and then
409s we'll top things off with Community
411s shots so without further Ado let's dive
415s in and start talking about some icons
417s like the ux and the UI design
421s and let me try and find something uh
426s man so so many so many options here
431s I think we're gonna go into rifting and
433s that's where we're gonna start
436s if I recall correctly I don't have any
437s legendaries on this build anymore but it
440s will be a good jumping off point

476s this point of of conversation uh right
479s out of the gate so when we say ux
482s you guys understand what that I I hope
485s you guys understand what that means but
487s for somebody coming in looking at this
489s and be like well why didn't he say UI
490s I'm familiar with user interface ux is
493s user experience okay
496s um should it be an e probably but
498s whatever it's easier to identify because
499s of the X sound so when we're talking
501s about user experience we're talking
503s about your ability to understand what's
506s being presented to you as a player
509s because if a game can't share with you
512s what its intent is then as a player
515s you're going to have a hard time
516s engaging with that right so ux is like
519s Pinnacle of importance when it comes to
522s onboarding and accessibility and all
525s that type of stuff
526s so
527s um so let's talk a little bit about the
529s designs of these weapons just real
531s briefly
532s okay so we have for example the
535s sustained Synchro pulse why am I talking
536s about this well because the iconography
539s here that pulse laser you see that it's
541s a little cute pulse laser I think most
543s of you guys are all familiar with that
545s pulse laser now
548s it looks nothing like what's on the ship
553s can we just
555s can we just like
557s this is the pulse laser
561s right it they're they're so far removed
565s from one another right
568s and this is intentional
572s Excuse me yes this is this is a hundred
574s percent intentional design here so uh
578s through the course of this week we were
580s evaluating the state of some of our uh
582s iconography okay within the ux
585s within the UI
587s um and we determined that instead of
590s updating all of the equipment like this
592s like this pulse laser that very much
594s does not look like uh the pulse laser
597s that is here
599s needs to stay it needs to stay
602s because the way that we've separated out
604s each of the different item types here
608s what's displayed is so much more
611s important
612s and profound than what the items
615s actually look like on your ship
618s if we were to say take those items
621s exactly bring those models into this
624s space and put them up here they're going
627s to look really detailed and beautiful
629s but they won't be consistent with
631s basically
633s all the rest of the ux
635s we obviously take some Liberties in
638s order to translate the equipment your
640s items your loot and to like what they're
643s overarching a thing is right whether
646s it's a booster an observer a sensor uh
650s you know an energy core all of these
652s things right
653s we're taking uh you know quite a few
655s liberties especially with missiles and
657s this is another really good one where
660s most of the missiles in the game they
662s all look the same because we're not
665s trying to like hyper design every single
668s missile that's fired from your ship you
670s know I feel like that's a waste of uh
673s time on our part waste of development
675s time and uh that doesn't serve you guys
677s very well because you're the one
679s supporting us and putting your money
680s into this we think that there's a better
681s use of that fund so
684s yeah kind of an interesting little thing

689s and I bring all this up because we did
691s in fact pull the actual weapons over to
694s this and I was hoping to give you an
696s example of it today and I didn't collect
699s any screenshots uh I say that and I
702s wonder if there's anybody on the team
703s that's in the chat if you could provide
706s a screenshot of what we previously had I
709s would love to show the community to talk
711s about this a little bit further if we
713s have one send it to me via slap
716s um so simplification here it's to
718s identify items from each other okay
722s we are adding a lot more polish to the
725s game State armor Space 2 is receiving a
727s number of changes and tweaks to add that
730s additional Clarity right and you know
732s all of the weapons especially the
734s legendaries which we'll be getting to uh
736s have been getting those delicious
738s representations uh added accordingly so
742s when we take these all these elements
744s coming to the table
746s it has to be consistent it has to be
749s usable it has to be you know
751s it's just it's like top of Mind top of
754s Mind stuff uh host Christian thank you

809s two degrees like wow this is really cool
811s because we're riding all this depth all
812s this detail you know it's awesome
815s but it's not consistent
818s it's not consistent
821s and plus uh the color is a little bit
822s too hard you know um
825s this it's placeholder also consider that
827s uh the work itself um we are we love
831s this but this is not the direction that
834s we are attempting to take everspace two
836s oh my gosh it's like he's getting to a
839s point regarding all this ux stuff
841s everspace 2 is meant to be a game where
843s you can truly like pick up and play it
845s it's very arcady shooter right and it's
848s all about that loot and shoot mentality
850s you're flying around you're taking on
851s jobs you're blowing stuff up and we want
853s to make sure that while you're going
855s through this experience everything is
857s very clear and what you're obtaining and
859s what it's able to do right
862s so when you're looking back and forth
864s some of these do really look awesome
866s don't get me wrong
867s but
868s if we are not translating that
871s information correctly then that's an
872s inherent problem right for how we are
875s bringing you into the fold
877s and I just want to give you guys kind of
879s a peek into uh this aspect of
881s development that we are still working on
884s we're still tweaking still refining you
886s guys know that we're still adding more
887s sound effects right you guys know that
889s we're still adding more like like
892s there's just so much there's so much
894s crazy it's crazy and every little detail
897s like this has to be done with a great
899s sense of care for the overarching hole
902s of the game not just the representation
904s of a flat gun or a pulse laser you know
909s to make it stand out so um yeah that's
912s just a real quick look
914s into how that's all coming together and
916s how it's not coming together too
920s crazy conversations we have
925s at the end of the day like we really do
926s like how

929s this has been
931s moving forward your feedback's been
933s incredibly healthy on that front
935s and we're still going

943s imagine just like
946s just imagine like how offset it would be
948s if we had the models of weapons here but
951s then everything else was just like this
952s we'd have to like refine everything else

959s but there has been a lot of UI and ux
962s development and a number of other
964s element areas
966s um one of which that we will be talking
967s about
968s a little bit later
970s um you've probably seen this a number of
972s times in the previous streams maybe kind
974s of wondered but you see this little
975s arrow on these
977s so a little arrow
981s that means that the location is
983s significantly under your level okay
988s that's what those little indicators mean
990s and in this particular save it is
992s completely borked because I'm at level
994s 25 and avoided all of the ridiculous uh
1000s scaling stuff
1001s that uh we have been working on this is
1004s just a process of development as well
1006s we've always referred to this in regards
1008s to like save games not carrying over all
1010s of the elements that they should so we
1012s are going to talk about this Dynamic
1015s level scaling
1016s after we get a round of questions
1019s um in order to just kind of like package
1020s that all up but just know like every
1023s single little detail even it's just like
1024s a little arrow
1025s um whether it's like equipment that's
1027s out there floating in space
1031s you know a container versus an enemy
1035s like the type of enemy
1037s every single little detail
1041s there's an absurd amount of detail guys
1043s that go into this in order to ensure the
1047s game is coming together as a whole
1051s description combat appears inevitable
1055s this knew what they wanted I'm gonna
1056s take out this uh Redeemer Inquisitor
1058s because he's like super under level
1061s so it shouldn't be too hard
1064s right excellent
1069s and we're gonna go through a rift
1071s because I want to talk about another
1072s incredibly important
1074s change
1085s it has come to our attention through
1086s internal testing but the wrists just
1088s weren't hard enough
1093s that's really what it comes down to
1097s that's just what it comes down to so um
1100s so now you guys you guys little little
1102s piece of our development health
1105s let's talk about
1106s um the directions that we are taking
1108s things because we are very happy with
1112s how we go through
1114s um the directions and the choices that
1117s we are making through all of these sort
1118s of implementations to figure out if we
1122s do bring over these weapons if it's
1125s going to be the right fit or not and
1127s what that looks like for the rest of it
1128s or if we don't
1130s with rifting we decided um you know 500
1134s is good and we were doing it with a
1136s couple of legendaries in our ship and we
1139s were like this is fun this is good it's
1140s a really solid Challenge and we were
1143s still feeding it so we just we doubled
1147s it
1150s we doubled the lunacy
1156s so uh
1159s yeah so
1163s um well I told you guys that we wanted
1165s to make sure there was a challenge at
1166s Max lunacy I wasn't joking and I hope
1169s that you can see how serious we are
1172s um enemy damage plus a thousand enemy
1174s hit points plus 800 Loop quality plus a
1177s thousand your drops if you would be able
1179s to best this they're gonna be nuts
1181s they're gonna be absurd okay and also
1184s remember whenever you are going into a
1187s rift
1188s when you're going into a rift
1191s this doesn't matter
1194s it does not matter what difficulty you
1197s set the rift is just like don't care all
1199s right it's gonna freaking full body
1202s karate you based on the lunacy so uh for
1206s example if you were doing lunacy zero
1210s on very easy right you're doing lunacy
1214s ah
1216s at zero like literally here where it
1218s makes enemies easier and you're also
1220s doing level uh very easy the level is
1223s the very easy excuse me the very easy
1226s difficulty setting doesn't change this
1229s further
1230s it will be exactly this and for all
1232s intents and purposes lunacy at zero is
1234s effectively very easy right if you're
1238s still using very easy the more you crank
1240s it up again doesn't matter the stats the
1244s uh the flags the whatever you want to
1246s call them from your difficulty does not
1249s affect the lunacy at all it's completely
1252s separate okay
1254s completely separate so this Striker I'm
1257s not sure I'm gonna have a really good
1259s time so I'm gonna play it a little bit
1261s more safe we're just gonna go lunacy 150
1263s here
1264s haven't flown a strike in a while but
1266s check this out
1273s keep adding more delicious visuals
1281s did I say Striker oh my gosh stinger
1287s all right so here we go

1295s I do feel pretty good about this build I
1297s realized I didn't cover it I just kind
1299s of like threw myself in this rip
1301s but this build kind of revolves around
1303s uh getting out of the way of danger so
1307s it's giving me a lot of benefits when
1309s I'm boosting
1310s uh like damage reduction when I'm using
1313s devices of course I'm also getting a lot
1315s of benefits on that front because it's a
1318s stinger
1321s we also have a front Shield generator
1324s for purposes of getting energy back so
1327s we can keep firing
1330s we also have uh the Nano transmitter so
1334s when we do inevitably take damage
1337s we can't earn it back
1343s so lots and lots and lots of stuff that
1345s is hopefully keeping our Shields at Max
1347s because when our Shields are out Max we
1350s will in fact
1352s gain an attack bonus as well
1360s so lots and lots and lots of little
1362s synergies
1363s focus on my damage Staying High by being
1368s engaged and connected and basically not
1370s taking shots unless I have front Shield
1372s generator
1373s in which case I can just kind of let
1375s targets hit me where's this from
1385s all right
1387s perfect

1400s we have done a number of changes to the
1403s Rifts as well so while of course you
1406s guys haven't been able to experience
1408s rips yet
1409s um some of the things that you might
1410s notice between our like the last week's
1413s stream for example when I was in a rift
1415s my progress was filling up a bit
1418s more
1421s and we do want these wrists off like to
1424s be a pretty strong challenge for you
1426s guys to earn those legendaries
1428s and while there isn't necessarily a
1430s difference between earning a legendary
1432s between uh
1435s lunacy 500 and lunacy 1000
1439s the loot quality overall and you know
1442s the challenge thereof we do feel is a
1445s pleasant one
1447s should be rather feel good if you can
1449s invest that share it with your friends
1465s so let's see we've got a random item is
1468s overheated for 10 seconds
1470s oh my gosh I look over at the chat and I
1473s see some absolutely obnoxious statements
1476s being made goodness
1481s we have enemies deal area damage point
1484s that might not be too bad a random item
1485s is overheated I don't like that I don't
1487s want my weapons to be hurt so we're just
1489s gonna try and keep our distance
1492s head on through the next
1494s as you're progressing through the Rifts
1496s now every location it's going to be just
1498s a little bit harder for you to build up
1500s your progression
1502s so you will have to inevitable like you
1504s have to effectively destroy more enemies
1508s within each respective
1510s Zone each respective area
1526s foreign
1541s so I think 150 like we're doing fairly
1544s all right here
1546s are resolve is being managed quite well
1548s as long as I don't
1551s take a big hit like that goodness
1560s that might hurt
1561s whew

1630s so one thing I want you guys to note
1633s as I'm doing this Rift
1635s at the lunacy that's dictating the
1638s challenge of everything going on
1640s that's demanding me to keep my resolve

1645s gain this progress you'll notice that
1648s the level here
1649s overall enemies this is where like the
1653s last vestiges of our scaling in the game
1656s remain
1657s okay
1659s so enemies and rips will for the most
1662s part be near or at your level
1665s there are going to be a couple
1666s exceptions like through modifiers for
1668s example
1670s but for the most part
1673s they are going to be near or at your
1675s level
1677s which for all intents and purposes
1679s should be
1680s level 25 or at full release level 30.
1683s since we want riffs to be this in-game
1685s uh triggerable State when you have
1688s reached the max level
1691s again drop mines when destroyed that
1693s might be worse health bars are hidden
1698s we're just gonna do deal area damage
1700s upon death
1701s and also note that these mutators you
1703s know we get this one back to back
1705s um we've had some internal conversations
1707s about mixing things up even further
1710s to make the uh riffs more deadly because
1713s you know it's not even in your hands yet
1715s we're just we're already just making a
1716s harder and harder and harder
1718s um but uh like this we it has to be
1722s impactful to you it has to be uh
1724s powerful to you to do if there's not a
1728s risk reward system here then we're doing
1729s it wrong that's how we feel

1737s talking about are being applied to the
1739s game state
1740s because when you do these reps
1746s they need to be challenged

2027s improvements to that UI we kind of
2029s opened up with
2030s where when we have prototypes and star
2034s forged you can now start seeing those
2036s details about them too
2038s so here just like looking at the screen
2040s straight up you can quickly tell which
2042s of these items has an additional grade
2045s on top of it right
2047s so if I pull in this recharge booster
2049s for example look it's a prototype we
2052s knew that just by looking at it
2054s just by looking at it so you can kind of
2055s get that sense of
2058s the item quality if you will another
2061s aspect of the stuff that drops
2064s just from that UI isn't that so nice
2068s isn't that so pleasant
2070s oh my goodness so now that we've closed
2073s that Rift I think the next important
2075s thing to do honestly is to uh crack open
2078s your questions that you've been dropping
2080s and then we are going to just hard body
2083s karate into the lack of dynamic scaling
2088s including uh how the game operates
2091s without that
2093s so uh geekbite are you there are you

2097s I am indeed how you doing good evening
2099s streams uh yeah I'm doing great how are

2103s I've been a lot better than last week
2105s that has to be said good to hear so um
2107s you guys have been asking the questions
2109s I've been seeing them geekspite been has
2112s been cataloging them accordingly so now
2113s we're going to take a little bit of time
2114s to go through hit me what's the first
2117s question
2118s right first one up from flori over on
2121s Twitch
2122s um will we see the outlaw destroyer in
2124s the future as in normal locations or are
2127s they there and I just don't find them
2132s it's a curious question so Distributors
2134s at the moment destroyers at the moment
2136s can be found in a couple General
2138s locations they can't
2140s um but they are
2141s very rare to just fly into a Zone it's
2146s possible I haven't understood that
2147s that's possible
2149s but it's insanely rare if you're going
2151s into like Drake in a couple locations in
2153s Union there are the Destroyers or is
2155s there really is equivalent the Israeli
2157s destroyer at several locations
2159s so definitely possible but once you best
2162s those you conquer them and they are no
2165s more
2166s they don't generally just respawn
2169s uh from here a lot of the temporary
2172s bosses temporary a lot of the temporary
2175s bosses in everspace too generally have
2177s destroyers
2179s um as kind of like your HRI ending or
2181s here it could possibly be like in the
2183s rift endings stuff like that
2186s um and we'll continue to work on these
2188s uh and make sure that we have more
2190s variety but as far as like encountering
2192s them at random I do think that we are
2194s still tweaking numbers on uh all enemy
2197s types honestly and how frequent they can
2199s occur and where they show up
2202s um and uh yeah
2204s so right now it's really rare probably
2207s will be tweaked next question
2209s excellent uh next up we've got Fred spec
2212s vet over on YouTube asking are there any
2214s plans for the bomber class ship or are
2217s you guys happy with where it's sitting
2218s at at the moment oh no we're making it
2220s better we're making it better um we're
2223s still evaluating all the ships you know
2224s just through General feedback that you
2226s guys have
2227s um you know it's it is crazy
2231s how much a conversation started on the
2235s forums that says
2237s um
2238s The Vindicator is such and such and it
2240s just doesn't feel as exciting as the
2242s other ships because the drones are just
2244s doing all the work and they're taking
2245s all the fire and it just seems like easy
2246s mode unless you lose all the drones and
2248s then it seems like it's super hard mode
2249s and it just doesn't feel good and I'd
2251s rather play a different ship right
2252s you're not like there's not even a
2254s solution there it's just like
2255s identifying the fun Factor which is what
2259s we're we're creating fun that's what
2261s that's why we're making a game right so
2264s uh that type of feedback you know we
2266s have been soaking that in talking
2268s specifically on the bomber yes we are
2270s restoring a bit of energy to the bomber
2274s and the next update so you will have a
2276s greater pool to mess around with uh
2278s meaning more missiles to shoot and we're
2282s also ensuring that other modifiers
2285s and affects that would generally trigger
2289s for a secondary for example
2292s um
2293s restoring I don't see yeah chance to
2295s refund ammo when firing like we want to
2297s make sure that if you're flying a bomber
2300s it's restoring energy when you fire it
2303s right or rather not depleting it I
2304s suppose you're saying but still
2306s um
2307s so all of these things we want to make
2310s sure that it's an equal playing field
2312s for each of the different ships while
2314s also enhancing and making that fun
2316s Factor Shine for those unique properties
2319s and abilities and the bomber will be
2321s receiving a bit more love uh in this
2323s coming update
2325s uh great question next one next one

2331s Twitch and it's regarding the
2333s iconography that you were showing uh if
2335s we had the design of the weapons on the
2337s right instead of on the left would you
2338s guys feel the same way about not
2340s changing it is it the norm uh that we've
2343s kind of got used to
2346s read that question one more time I want
2348s to make sure
2351s I want to make sure I have it for
2353s so if we have the design of the weapons
2356s on the right the new obviously the
2358s specific weapons right that we show yeah
2360s instead of on the left would you guys
2362s feel the same way about not changing it
2364s isn't it the enormous style that we've
2366s kind of got used to
2368s uh yeah I mean they're because there's
2370s definitely some truth to that and um I
2372s should I should add a point of clarity I
2375s kind of um I probably led that
2377s discussion like we're not happy with and
2380s won't be doing
2381s um if it came across that way then let
2383s me just let me just fix this
2386s we do want to update these this
2388s iconography okay so like the weapons
2390s that I showed you those are not final
2393s um and neither are these
2396s what we are aiming for is kind of a
2398s situation that showcases
2401s more of what the weapon is
2404s in a way that is cohesive with the rest
2407s of our ux the rest of the UI
2411s and uh so from that I mean yeah I think
2414s there's there's that level of
2416s what's it called
2418s um I'm just going to call it Nostalgia
2419s at this point because you're just so
2420s used to it and it's like this is correct
2422s and if that changes it's not correct
2424s regardless of any objective truths about
2427s it right um but we do like this is that
2430s development hell that we have to ask the
2433s questions we have to say is this
2435s actually working or is this hurting the
2438s direction we're taking it in which is
2440s why it's not in the game yet uh but
2445s there will be additions there will be
2446s improvements across the board
2449s um regarding ux you know as we continue
2452s moving to that 1.0 release

2460s um Eric Holdem on YouTube has asked can
2462s you make it so jobs can be picked up
2464s from super light so it's more convenient
2467s so that's an interesting sort of thing
2470s uh that we are kind of doing
2473s um and it's not something I think I've
2475s talked about but more or less when
2477s unknown signals uh and uh uh beacons the
2483s distress calls
2484s when they appear

2940s and we've done all these other missions
2942s blah blah blah you know the drill here
2945s and on the map what you'll see is we've
2947s got cedo that's basically all under
2949s leveled okay
2952s all under leveled here
2954s um from where we are at in this
2956s particular mission right we also look
2958s over at Union everything's under leveled
2960s again because this mission is level 12
2962s right we are well beyond the threshold
2965s of where we should actually be for this
2967s mission
2968s it would take quite a bit of grinding to
2970s get this high above the missions by the
2972s way and uh don't take my word for it uh
2975s we've had some play testing sessions
2977s that has like been clear as day on that
2979s front but then we go over to uh zarkov
2982s here and you see we don't see those
2983s those little arrows down anymore okay
2987s we don't see those arrows down anymore
2988s what does that mean that means these
2992s locations
2994s now have static levels associated with
2998s okay
3000s so all of this is beneath us all of this
3005s is laughably easy because the static
3008s levels of where they're at we are so far
3011s beyond
3013s versus the locations over here in zarkov
3017s well if they don't have the arrow Downs
3018s that means they're about where our level
3020s currently is right
3022s every single location has now been
3025s assigned specific
3028s levels
3031s and they don't
3032s change
3034s they stay that way
3037s until you reach certain parts of the
3039s game
3041s but through this system
3043s every single location I'm gonna I'm
3045s gonna do a quick little example I'm
3046s gonna cheat and go over here to sudo
3048s orbit okay we're gonna go we're gonna

3106s 18s and maybe there's a 19 over here too

3119s if there was a location that was level
3120s 25 and I went there right now at level
3122s 18 your enemies are going to be level

3130s if you want to earn your Rite of Passage
3133s through these locations now you have to
3135s build up your experience you have to
3138s optimize your kit you have to tweak and

3259s number of levels added to them a hidden
3263s modifier that will in some cases make
3266s them even higher than where you are at
3269s okay so in this case these locations in
3273s sedo there might be one or two that are
3276s actually now level 20 for example and we
3280s could face level 20 enemies and Sito we
3282s come back here they are now going to
3284s present a challenge but more importantly
3286s they're going to present with us quality
3288s looting experiences
3291s so that way you're not getting absolute
3293s garbage or in the case of being four
3294s levels or higher than an opponent
3297s nothing at all
3299s if you are too high of the level of your
3302s opponents they will not provide
3304s experience they will not drop loot
3306s because the loot is
3307s pointless anyway it's just going to be
3309s scrap and the experience is going to be
3311s so low doesn't matter
3313s so
3314s these locations they level up
3317s they level up and these leveling UPS
3321s they go to a new static level
3326s again they're not scaling here what just
3330s happened is they didn't it didn't look
3332s at our level so oh he's level 18 so we
3334s need to boost up to level 18. no each
3336s location has increased by a specific
3338s amount and will stay there until it
3342s levels up again
3344s okay
3346s so that's what I mean by these static
3348s levels you'll also note there's no more
3351s arrows down in any part of union or any
3354s part of Sino it's all up
3357s all up it's all something that's
3359s valuable oh except for except for our
3361s home base we have an air attacks

3371s levels that are the same here all of

3386s progress to make progress
3389s while everything behind is now moving up
3392s still viable to return to and also

3414s have also leveled up

3466s goal what's the purpose behind
3470s all of it really
3472s and at the end of the day it comes down

3477s a number of things on speed but
3479s to the couple things that just most
3481s predominant it's about
3483s relevance of play so that
3488s you feel the power increase
3491s there's a level location that's seven
3494s you know it's hidden you don't know
3495s quite what it is but you're level five
3497s you're getting pummels right you go take
3500s a job or two take on a side mission
3502s whatever complete a location challenge
3504s somewhere else you get up to level seven
3506s you return now you can best those foes
3509s you feel the increase
3511s it's applicable
3513s you are stronger and it shows
3516s enemies aren't just oh well he's over
3518s here so we're gonna be over here now
3519s there is a little bit of an illusion of
3522s difficulty in that we recognize that by
3524s the way we knew that was uh that's just
3525s part of the process of getting Early
3528s Access out the door making it accessible
3530s to you all but at the end of the day we
3533s want this game so you can feel the
3536s increase of power and through this
3539s process since they're not changing their
3541s levels when you level up you are now
3544s better than that
3547s your stats are better your opportunities
3550s have improved

3595s other issues and level scaling like

3609s lot of excitement for this and you'll
3611s also want to get your hands on this like

3667s man what uh what a huge overhaul to this
3671s freaking game just on that alone

3698s level 25 you know pulling up that save

3719s um if you're playing at level 25 it'll

3736s fantasy to a degree you have to start a
3738s new safe because starting at level one
3740s going through the tutorial flying
3742s through the missions and experiencing
3744s where these levels are at in all these
3745s locations a lot of you probably you you
3747s get this you will know this but I just
3749s have to say it like this is why
3751s these new saves are so important for
3755s testing purposes right because if you
3757s guys go into this and we're like hey
3759s guys we removed the dynamic level
3761s scaling please test it for us and you
3762s open your level 25 uh save your feedback
3765s is kind of invalid
3768s ouch that sucks
3770s that sucks so
3772s when we get to the update we'll see what
3775s we can do on that front but uh for the
3777s most part
3778s um there's still going to be stuff you
3779s can comment on you know if you're you're
3781s really uh really wanted to push that
3784s level 25 save even further obviously

3788s legendaries and all this fun stuff when

3923s alleviate what could be issues for
3925s certain types of players or you know

3933s but at the end of the day we have to
3935s ensure the products that we are
3937s presenting is a game that challenges you
3940s we're happy with the uh even sort of
3943s like General difficulty system that's
3945s applied to the game Space right now it's
3948s going to be adjusted further
3950s it will be adjusted further but for
3952s stuff like ancient refs and earning
3954s those legendaries
3956s you will need to push your limits to
3959s earn them

3963s you can still collect legendaries at a
3966s lower lunacy all right now look look you
3969s can still collect legendaries at a lower
3972s lunacy this is something we've already
3973s taken into consideration
3977s if you want to stay the course have
3979s things a bit lighter for you or you need
3981s things to be lighter for you okay have
3984s you return that's what our that's what
3988s our lunacy system is all about

3993s A system that says if the player is
3996s struggling
3997s if the odds are too great

4002s the risk reward hasn't been matched

4076s A system that allows players who do need
4080s that sort of easing in ways to
4083s circumvent

4162s yeah I feel it's quite erratic first I
4164s get a green blue loot only from a red
4167s plus 140 HRA and then I get four red
4169s loot from a plus 30 green HRA and Hans
4173s Christian did say the percentage
4174s indicates how much the probability of
4176s Rarity drops is increased yes it's a
4179s probability modifier so what that means
4181s is whenever your loot is generated like
4184s whatever number of items like you're
4185s always going to get like eight or ten or
4187s whatever
4189s um when those generate the loot quality
4191s is then taken into consideration and it
4193s says well I'm going to generate as a
4196s happy little rare item
4197s the higher that quality is the greater
4201s chance it thinks about becoming a
4203s superior instead
4205s and that's not increasing the number of
4208s items it's just increasing the quality
4211s of those generated in that specific pool
4213s that does also apply to uh item grades
4217s so like uh prototypes and starforge for

4306s just different systems and that level of
4308s transparency is at the discretion of the
4311s development team and for us we feel that
4314s hiding the levels of the locations but
4316s indicating if it's going to be weaker or
4317s stronger is exactly where we want things
4321s to feel you will have those direct
4323s levels on your mission chain so you'll
4326s know like with your main mission where
4328s you should probably be because if you're
4331s heading into the Emissary and you're
4333s only level 15 or something you know
4336s whatever
4337s well you're gonna know that there's
4339s gonna be just that inherent struggle
4341s um versus if we kept that completely
4343s secret and hidden with everything else
4345s being completely secret and hidden there
4347s might be uh
4349s frustration when you go south off the
4352s great plateau and run into a Lionel in
4354s your first experience of freedom in
4356s breath of the wild you know like
4359s no system is perfect they're all gonna
4362s have these beautiful wonderful

4373s the most appropriate for the Looting and

4464s apply to alts
4466s and I got an incredibly definitive
4470s probably yes
4473s but I'm pretty sure legitimately I'm
4475s pretty sure that it does pretty sure
4478s that it does it just adds more ticks to
4480s uh whenever it's being used so this is
4482s the special I'll get out of the way
4484s um but this also does apply to like the
4486s beam laser for example so if there's
4488s going to be a follow-up question on that
4489s be like but what if yes so the beam
4491s laser it will use a little bit more like
4493s all your weapons will use a little bit
4495s more energy because they're attacking
4496s faster but there will be more ticks
4498s coming out of the beam laser which means
4499s it's increasing the number of times it's
4502s even hitting uh by 20 like it's attack
4505s speed is being increased uh accordingly

4681s zarkov we've got this incredibly grainy
4683s GMB Corporation surviving inside of a
4685s Vortex where tons of Outlaws reside on
4689s the edge of space where these crazy
4692s redeemers and these okar Prime and
4695s straight ocar are
4698s in this Madden feud in a very wild
4702s state of
4705s whatever you want to call it which is
4706s directly on the edge of known okar space
4710s you know like we've got
4713s each each place that we're introducing
4715s it has to be relevant it has to tell its
4717s own story it has to invoke uh those
4721s elements of purpose and then of course
4724s it has to be fun it has to bring
4726s something together why is this being
4729s included kind of like the question
4730s earlier of like why have a level level
4733s progression system in the first place
4734s right like we're asking these questions
4736s and we have to say this needs to be in
4738s this needs to be out this should be
4741s saved for a potential future content if

4833s things around for you to decide on a
4835s different pathway forward so yeah that's

5266s Direction with those weapons that I
5268s showed at the beginning of the stream

5271s um let's have a look at some of these
5273s legendaries that you guys are familiar
5275s with there might be one that you're not
5276s I'm hoping
5278s this is thundercore this one is amazing
5282s I love this guy so much and if you look
5285s at that image there you can see an
5287s incredibly clear distinction from a
5289s standard
5291s energy core very clear it's all
5293s lightningly and stuff it's pretty I like
5296s it you should like to if you don't screw
5299s you your opinions in fact
5302s it's fine if you don't like it I don't

5304s um but we are going towards this uh more
5308s refined style for most of the equipment
5312s that's going to be appearing in your
5313s inventory and while this is the approach
5315s that we are taking with the legendary
5317s items
5318s um it needs to be consistent overall
5320s right so there's gonna be some tweaks
5321s some modifications like the weapons that
5323s you saw
5324s um maybe you'll see those soon uh too
5326s not sure
5328s um but yeah pretty thrilled about that
5330s we've also got toxic Revenger another
5332s comparison point you can see the old
5334s shield in the background versus the new
5335s one like it's got that liquid inside of
5338s it
5340s making it uh spread out all those toxins
5343s that corrosion damage
5346s it's giving it that unique twist to
5348s stand out
5350s so very quickly even just having this on
5354s your ship like you can tell straight up
5356s like which Shield it is right but then
5359s even to that like you guys have seen
5360s this before but I'm just gonna uh
5362s hopefully not die when I do it oh I
5365s oh man I barely hit but okay so the
5367s shield is also it turns green like we're
5369s on a lot of effects for each one of the
5371s legendaries as well
5374s so a lot of that we want to be
5377s consistent and fluid throughout uh this
5379s one's Bob just like even even the
5381s simplest details like a cargo unit
5384s uh precious Bob right
5387s um You may also notice we are starting
5388s to add flavor text to these legendaries
5390s as well feel free to read those
5392s um we've had I think there's only just
5394s one person on the team who's written
5395s these out they still need to be refined
5396s some are pending changes but
5399s a lot of fun bringing these all together
5402s Bob deserves his own cargo unit style
5405s too you know and then last but not least
5408s we got this one we got Nexus heart this
5411s might be a new one I think that you
5412s haven't seen this one
5415s I think that you haven't seen this one
5416s this one is kind of awesome it's kind of
5419s mean uh feels fantastic on a striker
5424s so this Nexus heart it it's sapping your
5427s opponents nearby drains 82 weapon boost
5429s and shield energy per second from each
5432s Enemy Within 200 meters which means if
5435s you're staying close to your opponents
5436s they will not be able to boost away they
5438s will not be able to fire they will not
5441s be able to recover their Shields they
5443s stay close
5445s they're dead in the water
5448s if you stay close to them
5451s you're dislodging them from the ability
5453s to exist
5454s yeah it's kind of Awesome
5456s and it's seriously Savage so with these
5459s legendaries that I'm showing you right
5460s now I think there's another important
5462s detail that does need to be mentioned
5463s we've talked about it in the past
5465s regarding the number of legendaries that
5467s can be applied to your ship
5471s this is very much intentional design
5475s right now and very likely when the
5478s update hits we are putting a two
5481s legendary restriction on Your Vessel
5483s okay
5484s I've talked about it a number of times
5486s but it's starting to be implemented
5488s wanted you guys to be aware
5491s so when that update hits you're going to
5493s be restricted this means you have to
5496s take care in which legendaries you
5499s choose that's what it means you can't
5501s just slap them all and be Invincible
5503s okay you have to be careful about what's
5507s being modified and how you're going to
5508s use it
5510s so all of your other equipment doesn't
5512s suddenly become invalid all of your
5514s rares and your superiors and your
5516s prototypes and star forged and your
5518s prefixes and your all this stuff it's
5521s still very important to utilize and to
5525s design builds around the legendaries
5527s should in most cases be able to enhance
5530s that even further okay enhance that even
5534s further
5536s so uh yeah that's where that's where
5538s we're coming from now in regards to like
5542s are there any more additions and
5544s improvements in stuffs coming to
5546s legendaries there's going to be more
5547s legendaries uh included in the the game
5549s inevitably uh for sure and you know I
5552s hovered over this you saw this you saw
5554s this you know this is here there's gonna
5556s be something this is for there's gotta
5559s be right we'll talk about that in the

6033s level 20 equipment that's not how we

6852s fighting enemies that are like lower

6859s enemy is uh within four levels of you
6862s then they will drop stuff and give you

6866s um but the equipment that they drop has
6869s a chance to be somewhere between their
6871s level and your level so there will still
6873s be a scaling aspect on that front you
6875s could find Value in fighting lower level
6877s enemies but you know obviously that's
6879s not the that's not the main space you're
6881s gonna get them from so
