124s 2hour Long live stream where I'm going
126s to be playing some nightmare difficulty
128s everspace 2 uh we're in the mid game
131s maybe close to late game I've got a
133s mission chain to take us over to Vesna
135s mining Colony we might do it or I'm
137s probably going to focus on side questing
138s because I like getting distracted in
140s that case um it's a great opportunity
142s for us to showcase the game and also
143s answer questions that would come in
145s through the course of this stream we
148s know lots of things both Gary and I so
150s do not be shy shoot them our direction
152s we would love to help inform you guide
155s you and just generally take care of you
156s today so in accordance with our uh
160s General gameplay progress here which
163s again has been a minute we're probably
164s going to swap ships we're probably going
166s to look at a couple of perks and uh you
168s know unique situations that we can kind
170s of dance around um but at any point in
172s time if you want to see something
174s specific that you're just like I have
175s never seen this ship before um by all
178s means go ahead and point it out I am
179s happy you to change course for your sake
183s all right that's something that I really
185s want to do a lot of for the sake of
187s these streams so uh yeah do that because
190s I'm here for you all right that's that's
192s what we do these streams for um in
193s addition just let letting you all know a
196s couple other last little details um you
198s know today's stream is our first in
200s December and then we'll have one last
202s stream to top off this year on December
205s 22nd I think it falls on so does perfect

210s we're going to be uh we're going to be
211s having a little bit of fun in that
213s stream um since it's going to be the
215s last one of the year so just keep that
217s on on your calendar otherwise let's

221s let's do some things so first off let's
224s just have a quick evaluation of our ship
226s and where we kind of left off we have
228s three legendary items now and I'm opting
231s to use the Omni Manus which is huge
233s crowd control honestly I love this thing
235s for its missile defense system usage um
237s in the small ship in particular it's
239s saves our but cuz if you get hit in a
241s little Ship by a missile you're usually
243s going down pretty hard we also have
245s Wrath of the Fallen which adds more
247s targets to distract our enemies so that
249s means less shots at us but also more
251s Firepower for us too cuz they're also
253s going to be fighting for our cause so
255s we're opting with those two a little bit
257s more defensive I suppose you could say
258s even though omn Manus is like I mean
260s dang it's it's pretty dang powerful but
263s as a missile defense system it's also
266s defensive that is the direction I would
268s much rather take as opposed to going
269s with the stair
271s which is a little bit harder to use and
274s is getting a little phased out by the
275s new um equipment that we've been finding
278s from a damage standpoint um but this
281s thing could still uh eat a lot of bigger
283s ships just by focusing its fire down
286s just going to maintain these instead um
289s I can't remember if we really had too
291s much going on with with sets I don't
293s think we do no now we have like one of
296s every set yep that's that's how we're
298s doing on this field uh and we're also
301s putting a bit of emphasis in Firepower
302s and utility because who doesn't put
303s emphasis in
304s Firepower um and yeah so for now we do
308s have our our little Hornet that we've
311s been flying around with uh kind of like
313s a German
315s color uh but we could swap that around
318s but I would I would really like to um
320s swap ships so let's get out there start
323s completing some Quest chains and
326s stuffs and again we'll be keeping our
328s eyes on the chat so if you ever have

384s reminder you just have to find it there
386s it is titanium since we saw it now it's
388s added to our map right there
390s so I know that titanium's here it's
392s going to come in very useful if we were
393s ever trying to track a resource cuz once
396s you add it once you find it in a
398s location that it adds to this map and
400s you can see all the locations where you
401s found for example this is aium Crystal
404s the green is excuse me the green is the
407s best locations to find it the orange is
409s okay and the red is actually kind of
411s crap but at least it's
413s present uh we can change that to
415s basically anything we want so like since
417s we're looking for iron for example um
419s actually I don't really care about the
423s repairs um we could be looking for Star
426s delays actually cver Crystal um we can
429s see that that's going to be over here a
430s bit more maybe we should start uh
433s finding a little bit more of
435s that but on the front of our perks um
437s terine wants more storage sides which
439s admittedly we don't need too much of yet
441s so I'm waiting on that one I'd love to
443s get this one done the location
445s scanner uh hives got the autonomous
447s cargo dispatcher and startup delays this
449s is the one I truly wants but we need

920s a light little exploit for this build
922s where we can maintain the missile
924s defense system to do more damage and
926s also protect us for longer that's kind

931s nice so I'm glad we oh gosh that

941s pain thankfully we also uh primed
947s ourselves with the ability to
953s heal pretty rapid succession too

1642s last in permanent locations you can tell
1645s them A and B and I know what you were

1653s supposed to last for basically the
1655s entire time um they're they're permanent
1660s permanent traits so uh yeah they're
1663s they're they're powerful it's a powerful
1666s set if you can use it to your advantage
1668s I actually have a screenshot of sharing
1670s the results of it um to an extreme uh
1674s could be seen
1676s later but uh yeah for all intents and
1679s purposes they're supposed to last for
1681s the entire
1682s duration exploit the heck out of its
1685s usage it's
1688s fun next question uh right we've got a
1691s question uh from Lord Gregory f 2 on
1693s Twitch um he just wants to know was
1695s there ever a way added to switch weapons
1697s at the home base and transfer equipment
1700s items to it the last time that they
1702s played they tried to they had to put all
1703s the stuff in the storage and then
1705s manually transfer it to the new ship I
1707s know there's not a way to swap it all
1711s instantaneously um the best you're going
1713s to get is that whenever you're looking
1714s at your unequipped ship if you were to
1717s go in here and then you click on this um
1719s the stuff on your other ships will show
1723s up in these slots so if you just have
1725s two ships for example and you wanted to
1727s swap between one and the other you would
1729s just click on a slot and then you would
1731s immediately click whatever shows up cuz
1733s it's going to pull exactly what's from
1735s the other
1736s ship it can get a little bit bit more uh
1738s wonky if you have um items in your
1743s inventory or in the storage um and if
1745s you've started storing a bunch of that
1746s you do need to be a little bit more
1747s careful about what you're choosing but
1749s it will tell you where that item is
1751s coming from so if you have a gunship
1753s that you're swapping it to and you're
1755s trying to pull it from a striker
1757s whenever you are hovering over the item
1760s it'll say that it's equipped on your
1762s Striker for
1766s example
1770s excellent answer um quick question from
1773s sline over on YouTube you know what he's
1776s like he always wants to find out some
1778s information he's just wondering though
1780s is the DLC DLC still on track for late
1783s next yeah that absolutely
1786s is we have not hit any uh
1789s hiccups no problems at this time still

1799s this time from Marcus Bala B um they
1804s like to play in view with their uh
1807s are they going to see any improvements
1809s in that area um because they feel like
1812s they could do with better visibility Etc
1814s I know this question I think has been
1816s asked um from them before on some of our
1820s um videos that we've posted okay um yeah
1823s so the there's a it's kind of hard to
1825s answer that question um because we've
1828s seen the comments pertaining to the
1830s cockpit view which we're pretty happy
1832s with um but I've also said in the past
1834s that we are not a
1836s 100% done with the cockpit at this time
1840s now when I say that I'm not saying it's
1842s like oh we've barely even touched it
1843s like we've done most of the work we
1846s might go in and tweak some features here
1848s and there for the cockpit um but I would
1852s not expect anything dynamic or crazy to
1855s occur uh in this space
1858s right almost everything is set exactly
1861s where it needs to be there's a couple of
1863s uh maybe fine tunings that we found that
1865s would be a little bit more beneficial
1867s but on the front of like customizing the
1869s cockpit there are no plans to do that at
1872s all so if your idea here is like you
1874s want to be able to like move the screens
1877s around or like change your your viewport
1880s in some degree or capacity those are not
1882s features that are going to show up
1884s they're they're not in the plans at all
1886s um so I just want to set that uh
1888s expectation there on that front but in
1890s regards to the data that's being shown
1893s and its accessibility we may may uh find
1898s some avenues that we can Adventure into
1900s that territory and if we do we will
1902s share news on that front um if and when
1905s we get there okay so again it's I would
1908s not expect anything wild or crazy um do
1912s know that we are considering a
1915s possibility at weaking
1918s the cockpit a little bit further no no
1921s type of overhaul sort of thing at all is
1923s being
1927s planed excellent excellent uh couple of
1931s questions tied up in one uh thing here
1933s from yes indeed over on Twitch okay um I
1937s wondering if there' be any chance that
1939s we could see per subass unique equipment
1942s items uh and tying in with that they
1945s also felt that it'd be nice to have a
1946s brief hatch deployment animation when
1948s swapping primaries rather than sticking
1951s to uh the other weapon instant oh yeah
1954s okay so um two things on that front the
1957s first thing is that uh no we are not
1959s going to actually have any sort of
1960s subass restrictions on equipment um we
1963s made a decision early in development
1965s that we didn't want there to be
1967s restrictions at all so if you find
1969s something you're going to be able to use
1970s it on any ship okay zero restrictions
1974s however there are more opportune pieces
1977s of equipment to use on certain ships
1980s versus others a very simple example of
1982s this is the rail gun and the Scout it
1985s works beautifully well because it gains
1987s a benefit of firing at longer distances
1990s to impact at greater damage points now
1993s it can still be effective on other
1995s vessels I mean I think any gunship owner
1997s will tell you that the shock rifle is
1999s very powerful in that front um but um it
2004s it really comes down to how you want to
2006s play um and and if you don't want to
2008s have to go through this super crazy
2010s optimized sort of pathway but you just
2012s love a weapon because you love it and
2014s you're using on a ship that doesn't
2015s really need to be used on but you still
2016s want to do it anyway we're allowing that
2019s right so we're the pathway is not being
2023s restrictive it's leaving it open but
2026s it's more opportune to use in certain
2028s situations than others on certain ships
2031s than others okay then the second part of
2035s that um uh I need the question again
2038s because I really answered that in detail
2040s goodness I lost it yeah the Single part
2044s is that they would like would be a
2046s possibility to have like a hatch
2048s deployment animation when the swapping
2050s primaries yeah so swapping primaries so
2053s that one's uh that one's a bit of a uh a
2055s doozy basically wanting the item to
2058s cycle out as opposed to just um change
2063s right that sounds really stinking cool
2066s however if we were to implement
2068s something like that then now we're also
2070s implementing a cooldown between weapon
2072s toggling and if we're implementing a
2074s cooldown between weapon toggling then we
2075s are taking away um the players's ability
2078s to on the- fly cycle between their
2080s weapons which was never in the plans we
2082s don't want to take that ability away um
2085s and we want it to be very fast-paced to
2088s if you need another weapon you just
2090s cycle over to it we don't want you to
2091s like get stuck in an animation when
2093s you're trying to like cycle between one
2095s weapon to another weapon to another
2096s weapon it's like oh I have to wait to
2097s second cuz it's opening this one up I
2099s have to wait another second this is the
2100s weapon I actually
2101s wanted that is creating a lot of room
2104s for error which we just want to
2105s completely avoid and I'm sure some
2107s people are like but it's not realistic
2109s and how it just swaps yeah you're right
2111s it's not realistic it's not realistic at
2113s all and we don't care because it feels
2116s good that you have direct control over
2118s what weapon is being used in that exact
2121s moment and that's how that's how it's
2122s going to stay that is how it's going to
2124s stay I also did see a little bit of a
2126s followup on regards to the restrictions
2129s meaning like uh the unique icons for
2132s example like a repeater versus scatter
2134s gun
2136s um so like the the icons of the weapons
2140s is that what you're referring
2143s to I guess I need a little bit more
2145s context

2151s there um but we have been talking about
2155s maybe a couple other light distinctions
2157s that could be made available through the
2159s equipment uh yes indeed um that may or
2161s may not show up in the future who knows
2163s it's going to come down to some uh
2165s development decisions that we make on
2166s how impactful it could be or could not
2168s be um as we bring in uh more of that
2171s future content to the game
2174s so excellent excellent right uh a couple
2178s from gon Holland over on YouTube um
2181s you're just wondering obviously you got
2182s the the judge weapon there on um on your
2185s ship are we likely to see any more
2187s weapons that fire like the judge I might
2190s I would love to uh I guess we'll see in
2193s the
2194s future I can't I can't really say yes I
2197s can't really say no it's possible but uh
2200s I can tell you that we haven't been
2201s playing around on that front yet what
2203s we've been doing is working on all the
2205s things that I can't tell you about at
2206s all uh with the DLC and the incursions
2210s so that's going to be fun whenever we
2211s get there but right now uh items are
2215s yeah so so for just to just to make sure
2218s everybody is aware like when I when I
2220s say incursions this is something that is
2221s on our um uh
2224s timeline so with incursions there's a
2226s couple of things that's coming with that
2228s and we are focused on um adjusting and
2231s creating a better experience with the
2234s endgame content of everspace 2 so after
2236s you've completed the story uh we want to
2239s make there to be richer content 32
2242s experience um and our goal when we
2245s approach that content we o hope that
2248s there's going to be some pretty strong
2249s elements that enrich the entirety of
2251s that story to get there too so it's not
2255s going to only be we add stuff to where
2257s you have to play a game for 30 hours
2259s first to even get there we want to
2261s enrich the entirety of the game but we
2263s are putting a stark focus on making that
2266s ingame um a bit healthier a bit more
2268s enjoyable and certain degree I suppose
2271s you could say replayable um more
2273s valuable um etc etc so that's that's the
2277s goal on the front um as of right now
2280s with that incursion stuff and then the
2282s DLC that's adding a lot of story um we
2286s can't really talk too much about that
2288s but you know it's going to be expanding
2289s upon you know everything that's those
2293s moving Parts within the world thereof
2296s right
2298s so there you go right last question for

2304s YouTube um actually it's about ever
2305s first one uh
2307s just it yes I know just delving back in
2310s time uh will there be any new updates
2312s DLCs or anything added to everspace one
2315s or the team happy W whatever it is

2322s asking that I think it's a very powerful
2324s question um and it is also a question
2327s that we have asked ourselves do we want
2329s to revisit everspace one what would it
2331s look like if we were to revisit that how

3149s it's attuned to thrust particulate
3151s implying that you have to be in the
3152s thrust of another ship which means if
3155s you can put two and together that you
3156s get a critical hit chance when you're
3157s firing at the back of a
3160s ship so uh fun little details like that

3167s they're fun we had a lot of fun putting

3177s colonial fleet's original Workhorse the
3179s Interceptor class fighter maximizes

3191s know or not ever space one the energy
3194s pool of both your engines and your
3196s weapons were one and the same they were
3198s not split so this is referencing that
3201s but also is a feature of the Interceptor
3204s here approximately 15 to 16 years after
3208s that last Interceptor

3214s were flying even though it was like a
3215s year or two ago in ever space one they
3217s were they were old cuz they were from
3220s the war okay like 15 16 years old so

3226s is the next sort of model if you will

3230s one which has greater enhancements this

4473s like the vast majority of players have

4477s reason if you're looking at the stats of
4479s like other ships being played it's like

5400s jump gates to get out right and there's
5403s the there's a whole problem of being

5409s bound this very intentionally with the
5412s progression of everspace one making sure
5414s that it fit the narrative because in
5416s everspace one when you first launch you
5419s aren't actually sure how things are
5421s moving forward you're created you're
5423s sent out in a ship and then when your
5424s memories start coming in you're already
5426s a little bit further out from this
5429s carrier location that's because you've
5431s been just traveling through super light
5434s or some other means of travel probably
5437s not superl light actually probably just
5438s drifting through space until you get to
5441s an available location with a jump gate
5443s and that's going to take a while to get
5445s to the reason why you have to go on this
5448s adventure through everspace 1 just to
5450s get out of the DMZ is is because your
5453s starting point is so far apart from
5457s where you would need to go and we wanted
5460s to retain that through this story of
5462s ever Space 2 and utilizing this location
5465s as an out ofpl space that you get stuck
5469s in in the story here so now because
5473s we've met kala though we kind of have an
5475s out and a means to not only get away
5478s from this system but also to get back
5480s which was not possible all in ever space
5483s one so fun little details there fun

5824s easiest way to answer it is that in the
5827s events of every space one the okar were
5829s throwing just about everything they
5830s could at us uh for a number of reasons
5833s um and so the frig came into the picture
5837s um into the colonial territories um
5839s probably through um some dealings with
5843s the Emissary speaking to the officials
5845s saying hey this is going on this clone
5848s is not supposed to be here um needs to
5850s be executed with extreme prejudice um so
5853s a lot of factors in that regard in
5855s regards to everspace 2 um with the
5858s treaties um about a year to two from the
5862s events of Aerospace 1 after all of these
5864s events things have sort of simmered down
5866s and the okar still protect key areas of
5869s the DMZ um for the treaties and the
5871s stipulations but they haven't need to
5873s bring out their insane forces uh based
5877s on events that are going on like the
5879s whole clone run of everspace one and
5882s that constantly doing damage not only to
5885s um The Outlaws in the sector but also to
5887s gmbb and okar um there was a lot greater
5890s forces in place that were trying to stop
5892s it from
5893s occurring so that's the big lore reason
5896s why um yeah there you go uh this shot
5899s also comes from Adam uh GD
5902s um as well as this one um lots of really
5904s solid shots from him I love the
5906s different colors that he chose as well
5908s makes me happy that we're getting a bit

5925s something they'd obviously do of course

5929s many boxes drop from that yeah it's it's
5933s just a loot table um there's a a small
5935s percentage chance that a box will drop
5937s at all I think it's either one or two if
5939s I'm not
5940s mistaken I think it's it's either one or
5942s two um that can generate after the The
5945s Vessel gets destroyed but if you destroy
5947s all of the boxes and then you destroy
5949s the ship I think there's I think there's
5951s still a chance that a box or two can
5953s generate um I need to double check that
5956s but uh no I don't think that there's any
5958s hidden sort of details on that front um
5961s if you want more specific uh technical
5964s response to that I would encourage you

6020s about the um the ancient set the uh or
6024s not the ancient set excuse me not the
6026s ancient set it might as well be called
6027s the ancient set the uh Redemption set um
6030s and how it can be exploited a little bit

6038s it's supposed to work oh my gosh what's

6048s be any opportunities for Adam to Pilot a
6050s capital ship ship nope no plans the
6054s focus of everspace uh 2 as well as
6056s everspace 1 has always been one to put
6058s you in the pilot seat of a fighter
6060s vessel whether it's a light a medium or
6062s a heavy that kind of choice is yours but
6065s it is always to have that powerful sense
6068s of control Precision of control to move
6070s around very freely uh fast to engage in
6073s combat in the dog fighting sort of
6075s territory um or dive bombing more of the
6077s capital ships I suppose um as opposed to
6081s being some sort of capital ship fighter
6083s if we were to suddenly decide oh yeah
6086s let's put Capital ships into the game
6088s that you can fly uh that would create a
6090s number of problems because the level
6092s design thereof with over a 100
6094s handcrafted locations was all designed
6097s from a standpoint of the player being a
6100s small fighter so that inherently would
6104s not work with the game World we've built
6107s with the level design that we've pushed
6109s uh to allow players uh that freedom of
6112s movement and engagement
6114s thereof it just wouldn't work it just
6117s wouldn't work by adding something like
6119s that in we would basically be creating
6121s another layer to the game and through
6123s that it would demand a tremendous amount
6126s of additions maybe removals um to the
6129s game Space that we just that it's it's a
6132s very big ask and it's not a direction
6134s that we are moving in at
6136s all so no no chance of piloting a
6139s capital ship so this next shot comes

6575s the way so you can all kind of evaluate
6576s them Striker's not getting any love here

6580s really see how different they are in in
6583s size so in regards to like learning um
6588s how to bring the whole experience
6590s together there's always this sort of um

6597s um there's a word to describe it but
6599s basically it's it's where you think you
6602s know what would be best and then upon
6605s its creation you discover that other
6608s avenues would actually be better and our
6610s process here at Rockfish is one where we
6612s try to avoid that from happening we want
6614s to iron out the vision to where
6616s everything is quite um solid from the
6620s get right that's probably the intent of
6621s any developer but through this process
6624s we used a lot of um Insight through you
6629s guys this is actually a big reason why
6631s we chose to do Early Access again with
6634s ospace 2 much like ospace 1 um because
6637s the feedback that we receive from you
6638s all is immense it is massive so going
6642s through this process we continue to keep
6644s our eyes open we continue to um keep our
6647s own minds open um to even throw throwing
6650s out some things that we're very
6652s dedicated to the cause with based on how
6654s you guys are receiving it or what those
6656s expectations might look like now we also
6658s put our foot down in a lot of cases too
6661s uh because with any sort of overarching
6663s vision um if you start going too if you
6666s get sidelined too much and you allow the
6669s content creep to start piling on then
6672s not only are you going to take forever
6673s to create something but you're no longer
6675s creating something that is yours you're
6676s creating something that is everyone
6678s else's and I really do want to stress
6681s that when a developer is making a game
6684s they need to be making their game for
6686s others as opposed to make a game uh that
6689s is everyone
6690s else's like through their own means um
6694s that difference is actually rather huge
6696s um and so we stayed the course in a lot
6699s of these fields but we did have to be
6701s very open to um certain aspects certain
6704s Avenues of the game that just weren't
6706s working and uh adhere to some Community
6710s suggest questions and ideas instead um
6712s and it's served us really well on that
6714s front and it's probably how we're going
6716s to continue
6717s doing you know projects in the future uh
6720s too now like I said there's so much that
6722s we could talk to on answering that
6724s question um that it would take way too
6726s long I think that's just a good one and
6728s it's a it's also a healthy reminder for
6730s any developers that might even be in the
6731s chat that the community's voice is
6735s imperative when it comes to Bringing
6737s everything together so uh yeah
6741s so this shot also comes from the
6743s chemical bro by the way uh you can
6744s almost kind of tell that it's his just
6746s based on the the composition and the um
6749s the saturation if you will the the
6752s contrast of light and dark uh but this
6755s is fantastic this I want to take this
6758s and make it my Str uh C my my phone
6761s backdrop that's what I want to do cuz
6763s that was just that is amazing I love
6766s that so much very very good so we got

6780s actually um is all the balancing done in
6783s like one big Excel sheet or is it kind
6785s of done on the Fly um when you need to
6787s do a balance pass on certain things uh
6790s there's there's a lot of different
6791s applications and and means that we
6793s communicate back and forth with the team
6795s um I mean generally speaking um it's a
6798s lot of it's discussed in meetings and
6800s team meetings um and they're in the
6802s studio um but every now and then there's
6804s also like the online meetings and and
6807s stuff of course especially as we work
6809s through Co um where we will showcase
6813s ideas um or highlight Hot Topics um and
6818s kind of go through ways that we could
6819s potentially address them or um or
6822s whatnot we have an application that's
6824s specific for hunting down bugs tracking
6827s bugs and hunting them down uh marking
6829s through all of that then we have a
6832s certain number of people who have access
6834s to those spreadsheets that you may be
6837s referring to um of all the balancing
6840s tweaks and and and changes um so not
6844s every single person on the team actively
6846s looks at that and goes oh yeah we need
6848s to do this that the other thing it's
6849s it's more of like there's a small group
6851s of team that does this specific thing
6854s and then there's a small group of the
6855s team who does that specific thing and
6857s there's the bridge that brings
6859s everything together we have a dedicated
6861s Qi uh uh a dedicated tester that's what
6865s I mean to say uh a quality assurance
6867s tester we have um we have a dedicated um
6873s coder I suppose you could call them um
6875s we have dedicated artists we have like
6878s and they all play their part to bring
6879s everything together U through these
6882s active lines of communication um so it's
6884s it's not it's not as simple as just
6886s saying oh yeah we just have this
6888s spreadsheet of of reports and then we
6891s you know throw ourselves at it there's
6894s it's it's a it's a it's a web of
6897s processes but it gets the job done Hans
6900s Christian uh in particular he he was
6904s like the Bug Hunter uh surrounding 1.0
6906s and if you guys aren't familiar with um
6908s how that all came together at one point
6910s he we had a listing of I think over
6913s 1,200 bugs 1,200 bugs and that man got
6917s through like 400 of them in like two
6921s weeks he a machine so um some things are
6925s better left to one person just focusing
6926s in on and championing it of course um
6929s but getting that Balancing Act down uh
6931s there's there's there's active
6933s conversations of you know our own team
6936s providing feedback internally and saying
6939s hey this has been feeling good for a
6941s while but I almost think that this is no
6943s longer feeling good for X reasons what
6945s if we did this that or the other thing
6947s and then team members will chime in yeah
6949s it's it's a web of processes and and how
6952s it all all works so that was a massive
6955s response to probably a rather simple
6958s question but uh there you go there you
6961s go I like to be th can you tell no this
