So, my wife and I play Factorio together, doing a runthrough of Krastorio 2 right now. We have identical computers in hardware with minor software differences, I host, she joins.
It's update time! We both launch Factorio, we go to Mods, updates, and hit install. Hers zooms throught he 153MB download in seconds, as is fitting our connection. Mine trawls along at under a few Kbps taking well over 15 minutes for something that took her under 15 seconds.
We both test, go to the Mods page. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Krastorio2 We both hit Download. Hers - lighting fast! Mine - super slow. Internet speed isn't getting totalled, I can download at full speed for other apps/browser/steam etc, it is just the mods server for Factorio.
While I can easily set up a share to her mods drive and pull the file over once she has it... I should need to, and if this is affecting others out there (some who just think its a terrible server and stop using mods because of it, even) then I think it needs to be fixed, and I'm in a pretty good position to assist the community in testing/investigation into the cause and helping everyone.
Any thoughts?
