[2019] Has anyone tried system hopping? Does it work?

Obviously there's no true crossplay due in large part to Sony's stubborn politics, but since my Bethesda.net account is linked to my PSN and Xbox Live accounts, and the characters reside on their (edit: /u/BethesdaGameStudios_) servers, can I engage in 'platform tourism' and visit players on Xbox and PC using my PS4 characters if I buy the appropriate software licenses? Has anyone tried this?

Hey there! Unfortunately, there is no cross over between platforms for characters or Atomic Shop items.
