I have two xboxes trying to play For Honor on the same network. If one person enters the game then the other person won't be able to join. Whoever enters first will be able to get in and the other won't be able to join.

I am very experienced in networking. Both boxes are behind a PFSense firewall. I have Hybrid NAT enabled, UPNP enabled for both boxes, ACLs for UPNP are set correctly, and I have NAT reflection set. NAT shows open on both XBOXs.

For Honor is the ONLY game that has this problem. I need to understand exactly how its networking works. Is the issue that once the first XBOX joins the game that the next XBOX joining is being directed to communicate with other XBOX and is unable to? If this is the case I need to focus on my configuration. Or is the issue that once the first XBOX connects it claims the port that For Honor uses and then the second XBOX to join doesn't have access to that port because it's already been claimed by the first?

Hey there, thanks for getting in touch! I'm sorry that you are running into this issue. Due to technological limitations two players are only able to play from the same network if one of them invites the other. Please keep in mind that you will have to complete port forwarding to the system that is the host, although I imagine you've already done so. Here's an FAQ with the ports, just in case.

Alternatively you both can play if you get invited to groups by people outside of the local network.
