For a couple of days now, For Honor has been consistently crashing whenever I try to play the game on Windows 11.
Sometimes my game launches either as fullscreen or as a small window. If it launches as fullscreen, whenever I try to leave the splash screen to get to the main window it crashes. If it launched as a small window, I am able to get to the main menu but whenever I click on any of the main menu options, it crashes.
For some reason in the latter scenario i am able to access the f2 menu, but trying to get into the hero menu or the battlepass from there still crashes the game.
I have done the following to try to fix this issue:

  • changing my resolution in the cases where I can get into the main menu
  • uninstalling and reinstalling the game
  • verifying the files on steam
  • attempting to run the game after performing a clean boot.
  • attempting to run the game as an administrator
  • adding the game's files to the exception list of my antivirus

If anyone knows what could be done to fix this, please let me know. I was originally planning to contact Ubisoft Support but for some reason the only option for contact for technical issues, Live Chat, is disabled in my region.

Edit: Have also tried automatically enabling admin permissions on steam, ubisoft connect and the game itself. still no dice

Hey guys,

Sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with the game crashing despite your troubleshooting.

In your cases it would actually be great if we could communicate directly where we can see your DxDiag and MsInfo files. I understand you encountered trouble with the live chat but via the same support section you can open a new case and then share those files within the case that we can use to further investigate.

Many thanks
