It's not rotoscoping, it's called photogrammetry and they're both very different techniques with entirely different results.

Rotoscoping is when you take a video of something and trace along those frames to animate something like in disney's snow white (the old animated movie) specifically snow white's movements. For a game example the most popular one is FAITH.

Photogrammetry however consists of taking multiple photos of a still subject (usually over a thousand) from as many angles as possible to create a 3D model and needs specialized software to do it, like OP did in order to pose Sohei however he wanted.

This is..... this sounds like fun. I would like to learn it now :D
