Homebase Status Report 2.5.20

Homebase Status Report 2.5.20 (Reddit)

Hi /r/FORTnITE!

Same as last time! We're requiring you to follow the format below (you can copy paste it). Please, please, please follow this format, and check to see if what you are reporting has already been said:

**Explanation**:

**Evidence**:

**If reproducible, how**:

**Platform**:

By doing this, we can use the upvote system to measure severity/frequency and also provide the developers with more info than simply, "Hey, this thing is not working, can you fix? Thanks." While allowing less severe/frequent bugs some more visibility instead of flooding the thread with the same bug. If you wish to report a bug and see that it's already reported, then just reply to that comment. If you have a workaround for that bug, then comment it on that post.

We've also included some important links that we find may help you out. We'll continue to update them as necessary.

Disagree. Rolling out three huge sweeping changes in consecutive updates is a surefire way to end up in the 'Oh shit, which part is making this other part broken?' Rolling out each update with some time between them allows them to see the results and make modifications to the next update.

What I don't think they should've done is released the first meta change before the Christmas break. They should've waited for the new year first and then started making changes so they could hotfix things as bug reports come in.

Rolling out three huge sweeping changes in consecutive updates is a surefire way to end up in the 'Oh sh*t, which part is making this other part broken?' Rolling out each update with some time between them allows them to see the results and make modifications to the next update.

This is pretty close. We've been gathering feedback since the release of the latest meta change to see where adjustments need to be made. Once we release the next set of changes.. we'll be doing the same. We want to see how change A impacts change B and how you guys feel about the changes as they interact with each other. Constructive feedback goes a long way vs "REVERT" the changes without actually telling us why it's disliked.

We're still in testing on the new iterations to make sure they feel good in game. To add to that.. we know there has been loads of feedback about the current meta and we're taking that into consideration. We're taking a look at a lot of under performing traps and weapons and bringing them up by a pretty good margin as well.

12.10 for outfits. Let’s see if that actually happens

That's the current plan. I definitely understand the frustrations by everyone on the sub due to the delay as it's been in the works for quite a while now. We really want to make sure this feature lands in a good spot.

Homebase is in the final stages of bringing Outfits and Backblings to your locker and there are still a few critical bugs that need squashing before it’s ready to release.

Calling out the comment in the Status Report. This is exactly why the feature was delayed until 12.10. There are features that just aren't cooperating with each other that need resolving before the system is rolled out. Crashing when equipping specific combinations, making sure they actually work in game, loading in with what you actually selected, etc are all things that would prevent this from going out in the intended time frame. We're also making some further quality of life changes on how it currently works that I think everyone will like when it releases.

...but you're not gathering feedback, you're gathering bullet points on feedback. Which is why general feedback has been deteriorating over the past 2 1/2 years of closed beta and why the game is in a state that doesn't promote in-depth review so you get shackled with the 'revert'ers.

I guess step 1 would be reading those long posts that are skipped over-most of them are probably poorly explained mind you but at some point you'll have to bite the bullet. Even most of the "well-known" community advocates don't have a shred of idea on proper feedback and long-term effects of their feedback after all.

We gather feedback from both bullet lists AND long written post. Just because it's a blog post of feedback doesn't mean that it's skipped over.

People are not frustrated by "delays".

People are frustrated by stream of lies that you have been continuously feeding us for past 2 years.

The issue is that we communicated about things up front. There's always a risk when you tell players what's coming up front because there is ALWAYS the chance that it gets pushed back for various reasons.. bugs, critical blockers like crashes, further enhancements to features, etc.

Yes, at the time of our initial cosmetic update the locker was planned to be release at the end of 11. However, as we made progress to the system... bugs started to appear that we need to fix before it ships which is why it's been delayed.
