I thought I'd try out the beefed up Grizzly, Mr Crossbones Barret, as I was curious how the coconuts work and how useful they would actually be in game.

Crossbones Barret has the commander perk of 'Goin' Coconuts' 30% chance to find coconuts in containers. Increases Damage by 136% while affected by coconuts. (Standard perk is 20% chance to find coconuts with 16% increase to damage).

It says containers but you can find the coconuts in most searchable places, although I haven't obtained any yet from bushes. I have found some in those cardboard boxes on the ground, wooden/metal barrels, red toolboxes, black tool boxes, crates, fridges, diner tables, bins, rubbish containers, food counters etc.

There is no visual when you find them, they go straight to your crafted ranged weapons in your backpack. They stack up very quick, I initially spent 3 minutes farming and racked up 39 of the things.

You then need to put them in one of your weapon slots and when you want to consume one just use it like you would fire a weapon.

You then glow greenish for approx 30 seconds which I thought was a pretty good time (I was expecting about 8 seconds considering the huge damage buff and the amount of coconuts you can actually obtain after a quick search).

And that's it! Unfortunately Crossbones doesn't have phase shift so that might be a stickler for some, but I thought cool new unique perk if you want to mix things up a bit. Also very flexible as to his build, as you can focus seismic smash, Teddy, Shock Tower or some combo of them. Or any specific weapon type. What I haven't tested yet is if the damage buff affects abilities, but I'm hoping it will.

Edit: Got some from a bush.

2nd Edit: Ah too good to be true. The tooltip damage increase in commander is wrong and should be 36% not 136%. Thankyou to Frigid_Jessica for testing this.

This is not correct, I just tested it and coconuts are giving the correct 36%, not 136%. The tooltip in game is wrong, go by the patch notes guys.

This is correct. The tooltip is currently bugged and showing the incorrect value of 136%
