2s hey everyone Derek here with a save the
5s world update about some brand new UI
7s changes in the last data development
9s blog we mentioned an in-depth look at
11s the new front end UI
12s and I'm here to tell you more about it
17s we wanted to give the front end a bit
19s more life and character this is your
21s home base after all you need to feel
23s more integrated and alive like the rest
25s of the game I'll start at the command
27s tab to show you what I mean this new
29s screen is meant as an overview and a hub
32s here you can see our power and account
34s level progress and it features a glimpse
36s inside your command center where your
38s current hero is prominently holding down
40s the fort around your hero there is
42s useful information and navigation to
44s other parts of the home base let's do a
46s quick tour home base power is now simply
48s referred to as power and it's the
50s largest number on the screen because
52s it's the most important power represents
54s overall combat effectiveness if you want
57s to take on more challenging missions
58s you'll need to increase your power
60s notice the reward you are working
62s towards they shown at the end of your XP
64s bar there's a variety of rewards given
66s and I'll spin on that later if you want
68s to plan ahead go into profile for a peek
71s at your next few level up rewards
73s boosting your XP bar is now easier to
76s access there's a button below the bar
78s showing your current boost level and how
80s many more you have left you've also
82s added a big yellow button for quick
83s access to change your hero as well as a
85s shortcut to the inspect screen to level
88s up you might have heard about the
90s upcoming hero loadout system when it's
92s released this is the button that will
94s take you there lastly you can get a
97s short description of each menu item if
98s you highlight one for a moment and
100s there's also a new pop-up that lets you
102s browse your stats with explanations of
104s each now let's take a look at the other

109s the rest of home base is populated by a
112s new cast of characters that you'll meet
114s as you play through the campaign the
116s heroes button takes you into the
117s training room where you'll find the
119s major he's a new character that helps
121s you upgrade and manage your heroes other
124s things you can do from here include
125s managing defenders and sending your
127s heroes on expeditions by the way you no
130s longer need to pre slot defenders in the
132s front end you can now summon any
133s defender from a defender post the last
136s thing I want to mention is a quality of
138s life feature under the manage section
140s this familiar screen has new buttons
142s that let you quickly change between
143s schematics heroes and everything else
149s let's take a look at how we use
151s survivors you'll find the director
153s hanging out here keeping you appraised
155s of your top survivors on the board
156s behind him when you go into squads
158s you'll find a new autofill feature turn
160s this on if you want help managing them
162s the game will do its best to
163s automatically fill your squads with your
165s most powerful survivors you can always
168s turn it off and take control if you want
170s to maximize them yourself by the way

185s points earned by leveling up during
187s missions there's two tabs worth of
189s choices here the first it's all about
191s your gadgets and the other tools is
194s where you can increase the size your
195s backpack improve your trusty pickaxe and
198s other similar things if you want to plan
200s ahead you should try out the preview
201s button this handy feature lets you flip
203s through each level of your gadget and
205s tool expansions next let's take a look
211s at lorises research room research points
213s generate like they used to and are
215s automatically collected when you enter
217s the room from here you can spend your
219s research points to boost the fort stats
221s of your choice the research lab will get
223s more efficient over time and generate
225s points faster and storing more plus
228s you'll get an extra bonus when you fill
230s a fort meter say hello to clip she runs
236s the armory
237s she's your weapon Smith and keeps the
238s representation of your most powerful
240s schematics on display the armory remains
242s the place where you can access your
244s schematics backpack storage and
246s resources from here you can also get to
248s the collection book and transform
253s players who are just starting out will
255s find that their home base will grow over
256s time some of the people in places won't
258s be there from the get-go don't worry
260s you'll unlock them as you progress in
262s the main campaign also noteworthy
264s previous front-end tutorials have been
266s replaced with a new system that explains
268s features as they become available
274s existing players have probably noticed
276s pretty big changes in this overview
278s we've removed the old skill and research
281s trees both were slow to navigate could
284s be difficult to understand and had some
286s choices that weren't always meaningful
288s with these changes we move the more
291s impactful gameplay choices directly into
293s the upgrades room the basic feature
296s unlocks such as survivor slots and
298s evolution are now quest rewards in the
301s campaign storyline additionally we've
303s removed some restrictions such as the
305s requirement of leadership nodes in order
307s to play a particular class this should
309s help smooth out the flow of the game
310s with the skill tree removed we filled in
313s the account level up rewards with for
315s stats upgrade points and more in a
317s future release we'll be adding a feature
319s that allows players at max level to
321s infinitely earn an additional reward
323s each time they would have leveled up
325s again don't worry when you changes go
328s live your account will be just as
330s powerful as it was before our goal is
332s that you will automatically be given any
334s rewards you would have been granted for
336s leveling up and any features you
338s previously unlocked should remain
340s available you'll also have an equivalent
342s amount of points already stored in
343s Lara's research lab based on your
346s existing research progress we know
348s there's a lot of new stuff to take in so
350s we're also granting existing players a
352s way to reset the new upgrade room and
354s research lab a few times while you
357s figure things out I know we covered a
