[2019] Does the free fortnite skin glitch work?

My xbox is currently broken and I haven't been able to play fortnite season 8. I've been recently watching a lot of fortnite videos and a lot of them have been this free skin glitch,which at first seems legit they all start with them putting the code in the chat then go to choose game mode then come back and it's 0 v-bucks, but they all end with them promoting there channel or something,they never actually click on purchase. I just wanted to know was this glitch a mistake by epic games,or is click bait (which it most likely is)
