s | What's Up fortnight fam welcome back to |
---|---|
s | the pre-show heading into week number |
s | five of the fnc s you guys know me I am |
s | Zeke were hanging out with sundown |
s | what's up everyone |
s | valla TW hey hey hey Shia wager hello |
s | and special guests Monster D face what's |
s | up gentlemen welcome all to the show we |
s | have quite a bit to talk about today |
s | and I can't wait to get started so let's |
s | do this so the first thing I wanted to |
s | go ahead and talk about is top eight |
s | versus consistency there's obviously two |
s | ways to qualify going into the finals |
s | and those heats you can either place in |
s | top eight or top four in your region or |
s | if you're racking up those F NCS points |
s | you can potentially make it into heats |
s | that way so guys who is maybe like a |
s | couple of trios that you think having |
s | quite hit top eight but you fully expect |
s | to see heading into the heats so |
s | honestly rather than calling out kind of |
s | specific trios right here the one thing |
s | I want to focus on is it's all about |
s | just getting there a lot of the players |
s | seem to have kind of tunnel a little bit |
s | on not getting a top eight or a top for |
s | instant qualification in there but |
s | basically every trio who stuck together |
s | and played consistently well is going to |
s | get in through your f and CS and your |
s | championship points so it seems odd to |
s | me that people are stressing so much in |
s | terms of the top eight in top four when |
s | we've seen historically the heats are |
s | such a different beast than these full |
s | kind of open competitions right when |
s | you're in there and we you're with a set |
s | group and you know where people are |
s | going you can kind of do a little bit |
s | more analysis we see vastly different |
s | results than what the leaderboard looks |
s | like so honestly I'm a little upset with |
s | the players mental game in their |
s | mentality and how many have kind of |
s | broken down their trios just because |
s | they haven't gotten a top eight spot or |
s | they're not there when they literally |
s | would have had the points had they just |
s | played together all five of the weeks |
s | like I don't know it's kind of confusing |
s | to me yeah I think one of the things is |
s | that there's a there's a finals at the |
s | end of this and the finals is |
s | drastically different than the |
s | qualifiers in terms of how you have to |
s | play them who you're up against you're |
s | up against the best of the best |
s | throughout the entire competition so |
s | I think it kind of makes sense on the |
s | other side that people are stressing to |
s | stop it is those top force to make the |
s | best trio possible going into stage |
s | number two into the heats and into the |
s | finals because you see a lot of times |
s | players who are really really really |
s | good at this open qala form our Open |
s | qualifier format aren't necessarily |
s | doing the best I'll use the example of |
s | Mitra Marvel even though they played |
s | very very well at World Cup towards the |
s | end they were struggling and that's |
s | because they their play style doesn't |
s | necessarily tend when they're together |
s | to a final customs where it's 100 of the |
s | best players where I as in the open |
s | qualifiers they can slay out as best as |
s | they can and that's what they're good at |
s | doesn't that kind of counter your own |
s | point there cuz you're saying the people |
s | are on the top during the leader boys |
s | have been running through once you get |
s | into these like kind of tighter lobbies |
s | then your ability to kind of w ki run |
s | over other players doesn't matter as |
s | much so then shouldn't it just be the |
s | focus on getting to the Heat's and then |
s | getting the opportunity because like my |
s | one prime example would be the toe Hodge |
s | Bella EU and kaksi trio they've played |
s | together been top five every single time |
s | but I think if you put them into kind of |
s | a stacked Lobby I think they'll be fine |
s | the first round of heats I think that |
s | group even though they're in second |
s | place right now in overall F and CS |
s | points I don't see them as the second |
s | best team out of Europe and I don't see |
s | them placing second if they get all the |
s | way to that final round so right I think |
s | there's a difference between people who |
s | are very good at open qualifiers and |
s | whatever so it's not they still need to |
s | qualify remember so if they break up |
s | their trio they still need to get top |
s | eight in top four even though they might |
s | not be the best of that format because |
s | they broke up their trio and then the |
s | whole focus for them is who's the best I |
s | think of T fou closely and Tom's |
s | specifically 72 hours they broke up |
s | because they don't really think that |
s | they're gonna be as good as possible |
s | towards the end I think that people are |
s | focusing a little bit too much on the |
s | results aspect or anything and |
s | forgetting about the whole process like |
s | yeah consistent consistency points exist |
s | for like a reason in terms of like |
s | actually learning a lot about the game |
s | with your trio right like if you stick |
s | with the same five people are just so |
s | focused on how many points they can get |
s | not actually how they're playing not |
s | actually you know what they're learning |
s | game to game meta shift and meta shift |
s | it's always just more about finding the |
s | best type of results rather than |
s | just practicing which is why these shows |
s | are sticking together I think we'll do a |
s | lot better than even anyone who's trying |
s | to prep for finals or grand finals |
s | they're not learning the same type of |
s | lessons that they get everyone else does |
s | learn and in these five weeks and |
s | monster for you specifically I mean you |
s | kind of been on the outside looking in |
s | keeping up with these trios as you gone |
s | forward I mean this is such a great |
s | point right if you can stick with a trio |
s | you can learn your trios your other two |
s | partners patterns right in play and |
s | their thinking and how to rotate and you |
s | can work out these strategies but with |
s | these trios like Shai saying they're all |
s | splitting up and they're all coming |
s | together and shaking things up do you |
s | think they're gonna have a disadvantage |
s | heading into the heats you think they |
s | might have some kind of advantage |
s | because maybe people aren't quite ready |
s | to handle that trio and their current |
s | power level like what do you think so |
s | this is the first time that we've seen |
s | finally a format that rewards |
s | consistency and I think this is a |
s | learning experience for a lot of our |
s | competitors where you've had a lot of |
s | people go for beginners luck kind of you |
s | know you break up you find a new duo and |
s | you just go for it and you find your |
s | instant qualification now that people |
s | have to stick together I think the |
s | nerves are a little high and they're |
s | seeing that there's a lot more pressure |
s | involved when you make that commitment |
s | early on and you kind of have to stick |
s | it all the way through so the teams that |
s | are sticking together they are gonna |
s | gain invaluable experience if you ask me |
s | and I think they'll be the ones that |
s | will perform best when you know |
s | pressures on because a lot of people can |
s | like we just said yet that beginner's |
s | luck we're you know a lot of people like |
s | to gloat that hey we got top-5 we just |
s | played only one weekend together yeah it |
s | could have just been luck right like |
s | three extremely talented players things |
s | just go your way I think the teams that |
s | stay with one another and uh you know |
s | rock out all the way through to the end |
s | are gonna for sure see better results |
s | and I think there's two teams that and |
s | nae specificity would come to mind the |
s | cliques spades and Crim's |
s | trio who's stuck together so we'll see |
s | how they go week five but then also |
s | lucky animal and aspect two had a slow |
s | rise up to |
s | three and then they fell off a little |
s | bit in week four but that's a team who |
s | does exactly what Monster is saying and |
s | really learn every single time they play |
s | now let's talk about ten thirty in this |
s | current update greasy Grove and moisty |
s | palms are most recent additions to the |
s | game both with these POS are gonna bring |
s | some a little bit different things to |
s | the game on so in Moysey palms you're |
s | gonna build a Crouch and become a prop |
s | if you 80s it lets you lock in place you |
s | can kind of look around yourself a nice |
s | target and pick them off and then on the |
s | other side greasy Grove there's actually |
s | no derp burger there now there is a taco |
s | shop and every so often it becomes taco |
s | time where everyone gets to dance |
s | regenerate HP and all around just have a |
s | great time I mean I love tacos I love |
s | spicy food why not put them together and |
s | share with the world I mean I know you |
s | certainly love a talk of time but you |
s | won't catch me near either of those POS |
s | one I'm not a fan of landing actually at |
s | POS in and of themselves in a |
s | competitive sense I prefer either split |
s | dropping in trios and like making sure |
s | you kind of get a good coverage or tight |
s | team dropping in it kind of like a spot |
s | where you able to get rotation and move |
s | around that being said there's some |
s | interesting gameplay mechanics that can |
s | end up coming out I the one thing I'm |
s | curious for is whether or not people are |
s | going to now avoid those drop spots |
s | intentionally because we know that |
s | Paradise Palms previously was a huge |
s | drop spot pandora in the past week like |
s | a lot of people were going towards that |
s | area so I'm gonna see if kind of the |
s | prop and Moysey palms kind of scares |
s | some people away from it because I know |
s | I wouldn't be dropping there I think |
s | this is gonna be a shift from a lot of |
s | different places to more people at |
s | retail I think it's just gonna be more |
s | people landing retail now because |
s | Paradise Falls like something on set was |
s | huge in terms of loot potential but |
s | because of that those players are hungry |
s | for loot they want to drop somewhere |
s | where it can be very Luke beacon of |
s | buggah specifically they love that spot |
s | and I think they're just gonna get |
s | pushed over to Rito which is one of the |
s | other loop heavy spots and in fact one |
s | of the best Slough heavy spots so I see |
s | a lot more teams shopping in retail |
s | that's my prediction part of me part of |
s | me disagrees I got to play in Taco Time |
s | today and it was actually really really |
s | good in the sense that it's not as you |
s | know disrupt as you might think |
s | if only |
s | you know kind of gets there they can |
s | they can free loot and the tacos give |
s | out a lot of health plus with the speed |
s | movement you can loot very quickly |
s | although you get that little bit of |
s | disruption from Taco Time so I think |
s | greasy Grove is pikey a decent spot when |
s | you get to play and you kind of feel the |
s | rhythm out it's not as disruptive as you |
s | might think |
s | I like that feel the rhythm that I like |
s | it the next big thing to come with 1030 |
s | is the unfolding of the tactical SMG |
s | this remnant of the past I'm so happy to |
s | have back one of my favorite weapons |
s | back in early seasons of fortnight now |
s | we get to have it back and now we get to |
s | terrorize everyone else my take on the |
s | TOC us mg I kind of feel like it's a |
s | mini gun to go laser beam it's really |
s | fast to bring out reload move with |
s | on-the-go combo with a pump shotgun as |
s | well now that the combats are vaulted |
s | everyone's looking for an answer after |
s | they shoot their first big damage shot |
s | so I think this is gonna be the high |
s | priority weapon to take on the burst |
s | leaving doesn't kind of make anyone miss |
s | anything too much it wasn't really being |
s | picked up and calm that much um even |
s | with the triple change earlier but now |
s | it's like I think it's a high priority |
s | weapon early mid and endgame oh I'm |
s | actually I'm gonna say with the combat |
s | vaulting I've seen pretty much everyone |
s | rockin the burst SMG as a secondary plus |
s | with the wall replace changes like |
s | you're pretty much guaranteed to get at |
s | least one of those bullets from a burst |
s | through a wall and then particularly now |
s | you talked about like the pump into a |
s | swap the burst is the strongest single |
s | target swap weapon that's not a sniper |
s | rifle so like very commonly we were |
s | seeing if somebody wasn't being kind of |
s | defunct into their trio as the minigun |
s | of the rifle guy the people who were box |
s | fighting we're carrying the pump into a |
s | burst with occasionally the pump in the |
s | silent SMG as well but more often than |
s | not it was a person I'm personally gonna |
s | merge the mr. Bursch SMG well the attack |
s | I think gives you a lot more options in |
s | terms of the slightly mid to short-range |
s | combat and some like a little more laser |
s | potential when holding high ground I |
s | think you lose a lot of either initial |
s | fight pressure and also burst capability |
s | against an opponent like if you hit |
s | somebody with a burst system g-shot most |
s | of the time we're getting two bodies and |
s | a headshot or three body shots that's 60 |
s | plus damage that's really fast for the |
s | rate of fire |
s | so I'm curious to see now what happens |
s | in terms of the box fighting that up |
s | when pump swap is so important and now |
s | the most effective swap weapon has been |
s | taken away |
s | I think the vers SMG leaving helps early |
s | game a lot for people who have great aim |
s | and then the Takas ng I you know I think |
s | it's gonna be good like you guys are |
s | saying but I don't think it shakes |
s | anything up right it's still just gonna |
s | be a swap weapon that everybody's used |
s | to I think that a custom juice can |
s | become a favourite I know we're |
s | currently in a pump AR meta but pump |
s | pack SMG might be a new favorite it |
s | brings me back to the 10th boat days |
s | when he was at the top of the food chain |
s | he was a huge advocate and fan of the |
s | Takas ng I think people gonna see why it |
s | was shining back then and why it's gonna |
s | shine now not only the player pool just |
s | as skill skill wise has gotten so much |
s | better |
s | well guys that wraps up the pre-show |
s | again thank you to everyone that joined |
s | us sundown ball TW monster d face Shaya |
s | wager it's been great having you guys if |
s | you're competing this weekend best of |
s | luck this is your final opportunity to |
