[2021] Fortnite chapter 2 season 7 FPS drops & hitches

Hi! Ever since the new season of Fortnite I've been getting frame drops and hitches. All of my drivers are up to date so that can't be the problem! But maybe it is. My specs are Intel i5 8400 , RTX 2060 , I have 16 GB of RAM running at 2666 MHz. My motherboard is a H310M PRO-M2.

I installed Fortnite on a Samsung 970 EVO M.2. I get a decent 144 fps on low settings, but every now and then I get frame drops and massive hitches. I've also optimized my Windows 10 and nvidia settings to the max. Nothing seems to be working for Fortnite. Games like RDR2, GTA5, Battlefield 5 run at a solid 60 fps on high to epic settings. Is there a maybe a specific Nvidia driver that Fortnite runs stable on? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
