Hey guys, so I recently started playing fortnite mobile a a quick and portable pastime, for road trips, flights, and any situation where I can’t use my PC.

I’m aware of the newer updates, where if you use an aftermarket plug in controller for your mobile device, (most popular is the roller riot) you get put into servers with other mobile players taking advantage of these 3rd party plug-ins.

MY QUESTION IS THIS

If you que up without your controller connected to your phone, so the game is identifying you as a touch screen mobile user, and it puts you in a lobby full with other touch screen players, can you mid game plug in the controller? And then have a MASSIVE advantage in game?

Thank you guys for reading. I would try this myself but I’m on vacation and didn’t bring my controller for my iPhone.

Verbatim from u/FreightTrainUSA: “if you are on mobile with a controller you will get matched into controller lobbies.” Please stop spreading your misinformation.

Or you can take it from companies who actually manufacture and sell controllers for mobile: https://blog.gamevice.com/fortnite-now-supports-gamevice/

There was an issue where you could have a controller attached to your device but use touch to start a match. This allowed some players to get into touch lobbies and use a controller, this was quickly found out and fixed shortly afterward.

You can not have a controller attached and be in a touch lobby, you will be in console lobbies such as xbox and ps4. Even if in a party with a touch screen player having a controller player in the group will move the team to console matchmaking lobbies.
