[2021] Can't gather cabbage, corn, or other foraged items

I sometimes can't pick up any foraged items. It applies to all foraged items: cabbage, corn, apples, etc... and happens at any location. It seems to happen about 50% of the time and the only way to fix it is to keep restarting my game until it works. Another thing to note is that if you can't pick them up in one game, you can't pick them up in any game you play until you restart your game.
