Whoa never seen that - will fix Monday, thanks.

Yep, can’t break the bed or you break the chest.
Where is that one located?
There's also another one in Lazy on a bed. If you destroy the wall near the bed, RIP the chest.
If you can let me know where that one is, I'll take a look.
Same thing happens to an ammo box on some shelves at loot lake, there's a little wooden crate beneath it that destroys it if it gets destroyed
Which building?
There is also a chest above bed in upper barn part of house farthest south in snobby shores that does the same.
Thanks, will fix that one up today as well.
This bug has happend to me in other locations as well. It's so frustrating
Happy to fix them if you can help me track them down...
Southeast of the town in Lazy Lagoon, it’s the little hut up on the grass ledge that currently has the Lazy Links entrance sign on top of it.
If you build a stair adjacent to the south side of the hut to go up to the chest it also breaks the bed inside, which destroys the chest.
OK, meaning it doesn't happen currently since the version w the bed in it isn't there, right?
I tested it today, and it seems already fixed, sorry! And thank you for your efforts on the game!
Sure, drop me a message if you find any more. They're easy bugs to fix.
u/EpicDustyDevo the chest in the second floor of the abandoned mansion breaks when you hit the wall next to it, but only if you hit the TV and bed next to it too. Every few updates, there's a new piece nearby that causes the chest to break, seemingly at random.
Wack. OK I'll take a look here in a second.
In case anyone's curious, what we do is assign parent actors to objects that we want to be destroyed if the object underneath it is destroyed. There seems to be a bug in that parenting code right now, but I can fix the issues manually while we wait for the code fix, so thanks for pointing them out.

OK so this one was *technically* behaving correctly. The wood boards the chest is on is attached to the wall separating the chest from the bedroom. If you break the wall, the boards the chest is on break, which means the chest breaks. I moved the boards down a nudge so they would attach to the door & arch on the lower floor, which seems to make more sense in this case.
FYI all these fixes will be live in 10.20, 10.10 is already locked.
There is another one in the boat. In the little room in the southern part of the boat (second level I think wrt sea level). If you destroy the floor near the door (not the floor of the room), the chest is destroyed.
OK cool thanks. Pretty sure we are about to change it so broken chests drop their loot, so hopefully this all stops mattering pretty soon :)
