Plain and simple, 90% of the switch playerbase doesnt know we should complain here, and not on our sub.. And the worst part is, that the 10% of that do know, also know every single complaint we have, is gonna be overshadowed by mobile users... Like should we be spamming on the mobile board "FIX MOTION CONTROL AIM ASSIST ON SWITCH" ? I mean its an issue that I know since the start of chapter 2... As well as - blank tactical shotgun shots, wall phasing, fps drops, game not rendering in enemy edits properly, missing physics but ofc we have HD shadows THAT ACTUALLY SHOW THE MISSING PHYSICS.... 0 graphic options, some skins showing as default skins, render distance randomness... Rocket launcher blank shots, structures not loading properly, henchman not loading propely ( waaay to often, agency it was 1/3 games I couldnt tell the difference between henchman and player... Combo with default skin replacing some skins and good luck when midas, enemies and henchman are all default skins), vbucks bug (forced cross platform play, but not v bucks balance???), editing and building bugs (entering build option during a fps drop results in eaten inputs).. These are just some bugs, and all of those, were a topic on our subreddit, but not one made it on this subreddit..... I could leggit make a whole book on bugs and broken things on the nintendo switch , and the worst part is the sad ending where I can only say "to be continued with future patches".

While i visit the Switch subreddit, this is the official subreddit for Mobile and Switch versions of Fortnite. Since the dedicated switch sub is not official, you may not see as many comments, but I still do comment, see the post, and view feedback. Speaking of feedback, majority of the subjects you mentioned as issues have been provided to the team.

I encourage all Switch and Mobile players to post feedback here in this subreddit where it is actively monitored by myself and other Epic staff. I have mentioned this in a few of my comments I have made on the Switch subreddit as well.

Please don't take this personal, but we've provided so much feedback, and all we get in return is it has been provided to the team, actively monitored and looked into. By now I'm pretty sure the team knows:

  • Aim assist isn't working with motion controls enabled

  • Sound loops are cut short compared to other systems

  • Physics are disabled, and we've had more seasons without physics than with.

  • Animdynamics were implemented on a select few skins 8 months ago. Since then, no mention of it impacting performance, intentions to fix other skins, nothing.

  • Performance got worse again, with ping spikes into the 1000s, hangs, freezes, frame drops and crashes.

  • Slow glider redeploy bug was reintroduced in S3.

  • Skins are more often than not Ramirez again

  • Dynamic resolution makes everything look pixelated and jaggy

  • Terrain and chests load in at the very last moment when landing from the battle bus

And then there's the new ones like:

  • Hitting a weakspot while harvesting takes off disguises.

  • Sound is muffled on the spawn island out of nowhere and stays that way for the entire game.

Hey Huntcaller, just wanted to touch on a few of the areas you listed

  • Aim assist isn't working with motion controls enabled
  • Sound loops are cut short compared to other systems
    • I reported the triggerfish backbling issue recently along with bass drop emote. Are there other examples of shorter sounds. I can pass them along and see if the team can do anything about it.
  • Physics are disabled, and we've had more seasons without physics than with.
    • Physics are disabled to help with game performance.
  • Animdynamics were implemented on a select few skins 8 months ago. Since then, no mention of it impacting performance, intentions to fix other skins, nothing.
    • same as above
  • Performance got worse again, with ping spikes into the 1000s, hangs, freezes, frame drops and crashes.
    • Performance feedback is always valued. Ping related issue that spike to 1k are typically WiFi issues. Now with the hitching, FPS drops, crashes, ect this is an area that is continues to be addressed on all platforms.
  • Slow glider redeploy bug was reintroduced in S3.
    • I think i know what you are talking about here and i reported that issue a week or 2 ago. I can check the status.
  • Skins are more often than not Ramirez again
    • Typically once again done for performance reasons, as performance improves we will look to resolve all players using default skin issues.
  • Dynamic resolution makes everything look pixelated and jaggy
    • This would fall under the perf comment
  • Terrain and chests load in at the very last moment when landing from the battle bus
    • This would fall under the perf comment as well.

And then there's the new ones like:

  • Hitting a weakspot while harvesting takes off disguises.
    • New issue we are aware of and working towards a fix that affects all platforms at this time.
  • Sound is muffled on the spawn island out of nowhere and stays that way for the entire game.
    • New issue we are aware of and working towards a fix that affects all platforms at this time.

Thanks for the in-depth write up Huntcaller, it is appreciated. I will continue to pass this feedback along to the team and update once I am able to.

Thanks for the reply, I'm just curious if:

then what am I seeing on the video u/Huhboii recently posted? They're either physics or animations, and while the technicalities don't really matter, I can with 100% certainty say there's something that these skins have, that others don't. Examples like Hime, Bachii, Zadie and Tilted Teknique have moving parts that at the very least act like physics, and they just do not impact performance in a negative way.

I've been running nothing but skins with "Physics" all of season 2 and the game ran fine. I can understand enabling whatever it is on all skins impacting performance, but I'm just not seeing it on my end.

I fully understand making this game work on Switch is a monumental undertaking, and I have the utmost respect for the people trying to make it work, but I would love to hear it if anything is being tested, or if there's only the slightest possibility I'll be able to enjoy skins like Fable, Calamity and Catalyst again.

TL;DR: Please comment on why some skins have moving hair, coats, backblings and necklaces, and others don't. I get disabling all, or enabling all, but I just don't get this partial deal.

I will see what I can find out about this subject and share what I can.

About the audio loops, I'm pretty sure Infectious is shorter than on Xbox, and very sure Intensity is.

Audio files can take up a lot of space, so some of these might be by design to help memory and storage use. Same as above, I will see if I can get some clarity of emote audio being shorter then other platforms and share that.
