this has been bothering me for a bit, but a very vocal minority of the community it seems want to have way longer resistance wars. i personally disagree.

  • resistance wars suffer from not being taken as seriously as actual wars, nothing wrong with that inherently but if you want longer resistance wars that means that new players will likely get thrown into a random front with no real action or sense of direction, barely any supplies, and just a generally bad experience.
  • you CAN take a break from foxhole, it's a very much persistent game but that doesn't mean you need to be online for every development. if you truly fear missing out on the nukes and big clan pushes, join a clan! they will have dedicated times for you to hop on and join in on operations.
  • this ignores the fact that people who aren't on foxhole 24/7 (which is a majority of the population) want to be able to log on and either jump straight into logi or a frontline, they shouldn't be required to wait 5 days for the intermission to end because someone decided to ignore all real life responsibility for a video game and needs the devs to tell them to take a break.

i'm sorry if this comes off as rant-y but it just annoys me seeing people ask for longer resistance phases when they are allowed to go outside and touch grass

We understand that certain players want there to be a longer break. It's important to note that there are also many other types of players: New players, returning players, players that can only play on certain days of the week or who have limited hours due to work, school or other commitments. This is especially the case since the game has opened up a lot over the last year. New or returning players may come in and have a bad or misrepresented view of the game during a long resistance phase.

The 24-48h "break" between conquests is the balance intended to accommodate all types of players.
