I'm really looking forward to Breakpoint. Without AI teammates and the new stealth mechanics I plan on playing this like a spiritual sequel to MGSV.

My main concern comes along with my preference to play stealthily. I rely on close quarter combat and suppressed headshots. I do not want to sneak into a base, shoot somebody in the head with a suppressed M4 and have them shake it off like I just threw glitter at them. I think it's a huge mistake to bring ghost Recon down this path. We already have the Division 2 which, in my opinion, is the best looter shooter available.

I know this is a bit of a rant, but this really makes me nervous. Almost like a forced tier one mode which I did not personally enjoy. Hopefully Ubisoft makes some changes to make the shooting and damaged models realistic. Bullet sponges have no place in a Ghost Recon game.

End rant

Edit: It sounds like I may be jumping to conclusions. I hope Ubi explains the tiered system in depth soon.

So, does this tiered loot system mean there are multiple versions of one weapon (like, a gray, green, blue, purple, and gold M4) or does this mean each weapon is a certain tier (like, maybe an M16 is a green weapon but an M4A1 is a blue weapon)? I don't want a system like the former, where we have a bunch of junk in our inventory because we have multiple copies of the same weapon, just at different tiers/rarities. I don't want that.

One thing we want to reinforce is that Breakpoint is going to be a military shooter, and the weapon tier system won't affect that. Tiers won't change damage.

I don't have a precise picture of what the system will actually be like in practice yet. I would stay tuned for E3, gamescom, etc. :)
