5-ish years ago, I made a friend on a Guild Wars 2 community forum, a few months before official launch. Next month, I'm getting married to him. Friendship grew to something more in the first year after launch, and though we were separated by physical distance for the first part of our relationship, playing this game together gave us ample chance to explore, adventure, and spend time in each other's company. We've lived together for several years now but next month we'll be embarking on a new journey as a married couple, but it never would have happened if not for this game and this community.

We have a tiny guild full of people who have become like family. We've attended each other's weddings, treated each other to pizza and movies, and every week several of us hold a table-top gaming night together over VOIP. Many of the same folks I met in my guild at launch will be attending our wedding next month, and I'm so grateful and kinda humbled at how this game brings people together.

A-net, I'm sending you a wedding invite.

My fiance lurks here sometimes so maybe he'll see this. If you do: hello. Thank you for walking with me through all the dangerous places in Tyria. Your guild leadership always brings our little group through all sorts of trials and we've achieved so much for being as small as we are. That's in no small part to you. You have patiently walked me through SO. MANY. JUMPING PUZZLES. You are a fantastic person and I'm thrilled that we can explore more together in Path of Fire and in the rest of our lives. Thanks for already helping me get all my mounts. Don't worry -- I will keep helping you dye your armor to be snazzy all the time.

EDIT: Thank you for all of the well wishes! Truly one of the nicest and most friendly communities :)
