Greetings Gamers!
I am happy to announce that a new Community Tournament League will be starting up in just a couple of weeks! Run by the Hardstuck Guild, the same team that delivered the MoTA, we aim to hold one tournament every three months, which will then lead up to a larger event once per year (MoTA 2 anyone?).
If you just want the relevant information from this post, I'll include a tl;dr at the bottom, but I'm going to take a moment to go a bit more into detail.
One of our main goals with this tournament series is to try and get more players involved than just the ones we've seen in past events that we've run. We're aware that breaking into the competitive scene in this game can be challenging, and in fact quite daunting, and so that is why, with this League, we'll be introducing two separate brackets - the Open Bracket and the Invitational.
The Open Bracket is available to anyone who hasn't been invited to the second part of the tournament, no barrier to entry involved. But more importantly, this means that while there will certainly be some strong teams in it, you won't have to worry about going up against big names like The French Wurms or Team USA, if that's a concern. We hope that by introducing this Open Bracket, it will encourage people who have wanted to compete, but worried about just getting knocked out by the best teams in the game. There will be gold prizing for most if not all participants in this bracket, and the winners of this bracket will advance on to face the Invitational teams.
Now all that might sound good, but we know many people are going to be turning out to cheer on their favorite players and teams, and of course we won't be letting them down. The Invitational Bracket will be where the best of the best face off against each other, and eventually face off across regions as well. In order to make this bracket as rewarding as possible, we will be giving the teams in the Invitational Bracket the chance to win cash on top of gems and gold. Anyone who we invite to this bracket won't be allowed to participate in the Open Bracket, but will have plenty of tough competition when their turn comes.
And this leads me to the next important piece of information: Today's Monthly Automated Tournament. We're used to seeing teams compete fiercely for 1st place in the mAT, but today we're going to be watching in order to get a better of idea of just who exactly to place in the Invitational Bracket, as well as their seeding. Both the EU and the NA mAT's will be streamed and shoutcasted live today, I will include links below, so make sure to come and watch, and if you're planning to play in today's mAT, know that we will be watching you!
As always, our goal with this tournament series is to provide not only good entertainment for the community, but also to try and keep the competitive spirit of Guild Wars 2, in this case PvP, alive. We look forward to seeing who shows up, and who will be crowned Champions in The Harstuck Conquest League!
