[2020] New PF player - Can't reach any mastery points!

New to PF and mastery points, thank to the Amazon half off sale! I have 5 mastery points in Path of Fire, and I can't get a 6th for the life of me! All of them are in inaccessible places, either because I need to jump high, or far, and I only have the normal raptor. I grabbed the easy mastery points right away, and now I feel completely stuck!!! I've searched the starting PF map, and the ones directly north, and directly south.

Do you get more mastery by advancing the plot? My exp bar is maxed, so I feel like I'm wasting playtime too. Argh!
