Hey all! I've been looking into this this morning--I know that's a startling thing to get out of the blue so I wanted to get some answers for you. I talked with our CS team and they shared this information with me for people who are suddenly being asked to authenticate via email:
If you were not required to authorize a new IP at login in the past, your account was recently updated with this requirement. Please know that you can authorize an IP/network so that you will not be required to verify the same IP with each login. More information concerning IP/email authentication can be found here.
This security setting requires you to verify and approve, via email, any new IPs attempting to access your account. This security setting cannot be removed. If you’d like to look into using a different authentication method, please visit this article which provides details about SMS authentication and other authentication apps.
If you no longer have access to the email associated with the account, reach out to our CS team through the steps listed on this page under "If nothing else works, contact support!" (These instructions will work even if you're not able to log in to file a support ticket.)
