1064s up kind of showcase the respect of these
1066s players they worked really hard to get

1069s them out and just you know be on my best
1071s behavior for this final so i hope
1075s everyone's having a great day we should
1077s have a ton of great games today a lot of
1078s good players i think made it to the
1080s finals so
1081s i'm excited to see what they have in
1083s store for us today yeah that is
1085s absolutely right i am so looking forward
1087s to just jumping right through to the
1088s overview collins because during
1090s rehearsal we were talking about your
1092s outfit and i said okay i gotta dress up
1095s to match you and then i realized i don't
1097s have an outfit that good i just have
1099s some of my casting semi-formal i guess
1102s so everybody focus on colin's camera for
1105s this day because we cannot waste that
1107s lovely outfit collins we also have some
1110s of the best players in the world joining
1113s us of course it was 16 players yesterday
1115s but we've trimmed them down only to
1118s eight the two eight player lobbies have
1120s already finished playing three games
1122s each yesterday and now we are in the
1124s final we've got the check format and
1126s things are a bit different
1128s yeah for the check format we'll have
1130s players uh trying to get to 20 points as
1134s quickly as possible so first place is
1136s seven and eight places zero going down
1138s by one and you wanna get to 20 points
1141s and that'll put you in check
1144s once you are in check you need to win
1146s the lobby to end the tournament so until
1150s you win the lobby in check the
1152s tournament does not end so we can go as
1154s long as 11 games we can go as quick as
1157s four if
1158s someone really wants to step it up but
1160s uh it should be a fun tournament either
1162s way and hopefully we have some really
1164s good games from the players
1166s that is right um the four and 11
1168s scenarios are of course fraction of
1170s percent likelihood those are the extreme
1173s cases we are expecting around seven to
1176s eight lobbies on average but who knows
1178s colin even if we go all the way to 11
1180s i'll be happy because it's just more
1182s battlegrounds content yesterday was so
1185s high stakes so many players just falling
1187s half a point short or off by tie
1190s breakers unfortunately not making it
1191s through to today but we do have some of
1194s the best of the best joining us still
1196s here and they are playing for their
1199s share of a fifty thousand dollar prize
1201s pool ten thousand dollars to first place
1204s and to everybody that is playing today
1207s they already have a minimum of 2 000.
1210s yeah it's really good that
1212s they've already been rewarded just
1213s making it to this point in the
1216s tournament is so hard and so difficult
1218s so really happy that as long as you make
1220s it to the finals you are giving a prize
1221s pool and now you're just trying to get
1223s as much of the prize uh as possible you
1226s know trying to claw your way up a point
1227s down to a point so that you can get a
1229s bigger share of the prize goal because
1231s first place really a lot of money for a
1232s lot of these players so really happy
1234s that they've already done well enough to
1236s get some some points
1239s and in order to first reach the point
1241s where you put the lobby in check of
1243s course you need to get a total of 20
1245s points and that is accumulated by of
1247s course getting the best placements you
1249s can every single time first place earn
1252s seven points and then it's even
1254s distribution of minus one point for
1256s every less placement you get from there
1259s and of course we have the ever so
1261s important tiebreakers to keep in mind if
1263s two players are knocked out in the same
1266s round they will share those points
1268s evenly whether it's three or four
1269s players the points will be split and
1272s this has happened many many times it's
1273s just a very common outcome so it is
1276s likely that we have several players
1278s getting the lobby in check at the same
1279s time
1280s yeah i think uh it's pretty likely just
1283s the way the
1285s uh the games are going a lot of players
1287s will just kind of
1288s try to survive and if they don't survive
1292s you know they get punished by the high
1293s rollers people and these lobbies are
1295s really good at um
1298s being as strong as possible so if you
1300s kind of don't get in that situation you
1302s just take 20 from them and if three
1305s people take 20 they all die at the same
1307s time and ties are pretty common
1309s and taking a look at proceedings from
1311s yesterday that first game from lobby a
1313s was taken down by beaufort but
1316s perhaps we can use his experience as a
1319s tale of warning to everybody just
1321s because you win your first lobby does
1323s not mean you're in a safe enough
1325s position to qualify through from there
1327s as uh beaufort unfortunately just barely
1330s didn't make it towards the end though
1332s but we did have the more consistent
1334s players throughout all three games being
1335s heavily rewarded dappy taking down um
1338s the second game also having a good
1341s placement in the first and third one was
1343s a shoe-in to make it through to today
1345s but in the third game it was waterloo
1348s that reigns supreme here with that
1350s amazing um
1352s pick of vulgin over shutter walk
1354s yeah i think you saw a lot of style
1356s differences between a lot of the players
1359s especially the more consistent ones they
1360s have their own style and they stick to
1362s it even though
1364s you might be as a character just
1365s watching be like i don't agree with this
1367s they are very confident with what
1369s they're doing and that's why they can
1371s play time after time do well game after
1374s game series after series tournament
1375s after tournament you just gotta respect
1377s that they know what they're doing even
1379s though it might not be the most obvious
1381s player the most even
1383s logical play they have their own game
1386s plan in mind and they're going to stick
1388s to that because that's what's given them
1390s the results they have so far
1392s right and moving on to lobby b yesterday
1396s we did have uh caramon taking a very
1398s convincing victory with maya followed up
1400s by the super memorable kid on the reno
1403s getting that triple mama sorry golden
1406s mama bear and not really taking any
1408s losses from that point showcasing just
1410s how powerful a timely spike can be and
1413s then the final game of the day was one
1415s of my favorites collins because there
1417s were so many crucial decisions here and
1420s we finally got to see pirates in action
1423s um even though it's not the easiest meta
1425s to play hogger
1427s yeah pirates are definitely a fun
1430s meta
1431s uh fun composition to play just being
1434s able to have infinite goals try to buy
1436s everything you want and just like create
1438s the situation right now it's it can be
1440s harder to do because
1442s every action will be a bit of a delay
1444s you won't get as big of pirates as you
1446s can but you can see in that
1448s last game even though he was playing a
1451s little bit slower than maybe he wanted
1452s to at the end of the day his minions
1455s were just bigger than everything else
1456s regardless so even though it might not
1459s be
1460s the
1460s most
1462s optimal you know game plan if you want
1464s to just utilize all your time you end up
1466s just having a stronger board just
1467s because having infinite money even if
1469s you have half the time is still way
1471s better than anything else you could do
1472s in the game so uh really fun to see that
1476s uh
1477s great to see zizi showcasing that he can
1479s still go out with a bang even though he
1481s didn't qualify through to today that was
1483s more about goddammit finishing in second
1485s and getting that a bare minimum amount
1487s of points to qualify he just narrowly
1490s beat xuan only on tiebreakers in order
1493s to make it through to today but another
1495s highlight from yesterday collins or
1496s perhaps several highlights were the many
1499s minions that we got to reveal on top of
1501s the new hero and the reveals don't stop
1503s today we have a total of four new
1505s goodies to reveal to the public here and
1507s the first one is coming up very very
1509s soon what do we have in store for us
1513s i'm really excited to see what we have
1514s here ooh
1515s and tremendous i am so bad with this
1520s uh travedies i'm just gonna go ahead and
1522s guess that's how it's pronounced like
1524s our committees blah blah whenever this
1526s attacks deal three damage to the target
1528s and its neighbors ooh
1531s so it's kind of like pyro's position but
1534s yeah but with a cleave sort of
1536s interaction and it's only when itself is
1539s attacking
1541s this makes me wonder if
1543s preston's like being replaced right
1544s because this kind of just feels like the
1546s exact same card except it doesn't have
1549s uh it doesn't have that clear synergy
1551s with other dragons but it kind of
1553s fulfills a similar role so um there's
1556s just
1557s like more than the card itself it makes
1559s me think oh is pressure being removed
1560s because i've been very adamant about
1562s that i don't like this card so
1565s i i would love to see if they are if
1567s this is going to be the replacement for
1569s preston this is definitely a um a less
1572s toxic variance right you can't give all
1575s of your dragons immediate access to
1578s divine shield removal right george is
1580s like
1581s dancing right now right oh wow i'm not
1584s gonna cry so this is pretty interesting
1587s i don't think
1588s it's going to be like a broken card
1591s essentially but it is a pretty
1593s good tech option and it is also good
1595s stats just on four so i do think this
1597s card will be played if you're gonna play
1599s dragons right you could put this first
1601s to deal with uh
1604s to deal with cleaves because it does
1605s deal three to the minion and the
1608s neighbor so it's kind of like a mini
1609s cleave so
1610s that has some power but it's not going
1613s to be as oppressive as prester was i
1615s think in the game yeah i'd agree i think
1617s it's better just to buy as a tier 4
1620s minion compared to presser if you don't
1621s already have this set up right but it
1623s also has similarity suppressor in that
1625s it can be a tech option in the late game
1627s obviously not as oppressive like you
1629s said but you know for example if it
1631s turns into a situation where your
1632s opponent is playing acolyte and you know
1634s about it then that's something that can
1636s clear multiple acolytes at once if
1638s they're next to each other the three
1640s attack or sorry three damage break point
1642s is a pretty interesting one but it's
1644s still able to take off shields from
1646s multiple um targets if things are too
1649s many things are taunted and they're next
1650s to each other i'm very excited to see
1652s how etramedes will affect the late game
1655s that is only our first reveal of four
1658s throughout the day something interesting
1660s about that card is it kind of
1662s uh messes with leroy because you kind of
1664s saw in one of the games we had
1667s uh yesterday where the one of the
1669s players had a huge cleave and then oh it
1671s cleaved the leroy so it wasn't able to
1673s use the winfrey aspect you could play
1675s that in front and just kind of have that
1677s as like oh i'll deal with the leroy if
1679s they're trying to tuck against your
1680s cleaves so if you know that your
1682s opponent knows that you have a cleave
1684s you could tuck this in to kind of
1685s counter their tech of the leroy and
1688s outplay their outplay so that's one
1691s thought about the car i do think the
1692s card is more of a like a good four drop
1695s instead of like a crazy tech card but
1697s there are some tech options with this as
1699s well once again happy to have you here
1701s collins because i got to have a casting
1703s stream and a theory crafting stream all
1706s at once as well
1707s but we are getting back into the
1709s tournament of course we do have these
1711s eight players in our final lobby dappy
1715s waterloo gohan oleash kid karamon
1717s valeera and goddammit immediately
1720s jumping out to me is very strong
1722s representation from cnn
1726s and then waterloo informally also part
1728s of cnn that is just insane that half our
1731s finals is made up of chinese players
1734s yeah they really got mad and they they
1735s wanted to showcase uh the other regions
1738s this time and they're doing a really
1739s good job uh there is a really good
1742s representation i think also from europe
1744s as well you're right with early action
1746s and dumb it there two out of the eight
1748s is also pretty impressive so
1750s pretty cool
1751s yeah and then we've got dapi and karamon
1754s rounding out apac
1756s any hot takes collins any predictions
1758s who's going to take it
1760s i remember saying yesterday i would not
1762s do that in cursed them because i've i've
1765s seen quite a bit of casters just like i
1767s like this player and then that player
1769s immediately loses so i'm not going to do
1771s that to them here i think the best
1773s player will win
1775s and if that's also my favorite player

1781s very diplomatic answer to match your
1783s formal outfit here collins i think one
1785s thing we can note without cursing anyone
1788s is yesterday we did have two separate
1790s lobbies right where you in particular
1792s noted a difference in overall style
1794s among the two lobbies like i think lobby
1797s a had more of an emphasis on tempo based
1799s players and then lobby b leaned some of
1801s the greedier players and now we've got a
1803s mix of both of them and we get to see
1805s how our players adapt to each other and
1807s i'm super excited if players are gonna
1810s continue to opt for something like what
1812s we saw from vallira of the turn one on
1814s reno um hero powering the raft weaver
1817s and playing for a lot of tempo is that
1819s informed by the players in their lobby
1821s or is it more dictated by what is the
1824s point in the tournament they're at
1825s because we're not going to see turn one
1827s hero power rath weaver if somebody has a
1829s lobby in check already
1831s i
1832s i do think you're going to see a mix of
1834s both right i think there's a good mix of
1836s uh control safe players and a good mix
1839s of high role players what tends to
1840s happen when you have both of them in is
1842s that the hyrule players will still go
1844s hyrule but what will happen is
1847s like
1848s one of the high role players will win
1850s and then two to four will be safe
1852s players
1853s essentially so we'll see if that oh my
1856s god there's a shutter walk button
1858s i gotta do this to us bob there's no
1860s beasts again with this shutter
1862s i actually think shutter walks playable
1864s i i he might take zarilla here if if a
1867s dummy uh there might take the zarella
1869s just because it's safer and has a has a
1872s really good uh curve yeah so ends up
1874s taking gazelle i do think that shutter
1876s rock is playable it's just significantly
1877s more riskier if you don't have the alley
1879s cap potential at all right
1882s tough to get the triples obviously you
1884s still have a good point in that with the
1886s pirates and naga you still have good
1888s engines with your battlecry like as we
1890s can see here the two minions on the left
1892s really benefit from the shutter walk
1894s hero power uh but that is still not
1897s guaranteed triple so i like this real
1899s thing can you take the uh uh
1902s the money and then the hero power turn
1903s one just to get to one goal i mean it
1905s doesn't do anything but
1907s i haven't seen a master wouldn't do that
1909s and it does seem interesting uh the
1912s vulgar and hero power doesn't really do
1913s too much even making a 2-2 isn't
1916s necessarily stronger than a 3-3
1918s especially against you're against
1920s another vulgen right like they're most
1921s likely gonna have three three health on
1923s their minions so i'd probably just do
1925s nothing here
1927s um
1928s sorry that wasn't finley picking when
1930s and then picking up
1935s so
1936s this is an overall for the rest of the
1938s game a second vulgen in the lobby which
1941s is pretty interesting on the interplay
1944s that we'll get to see there obviously
1945s with elementals in you're happy with
1947s bablette at the minimum uh but we also
1950s have mechs so there's potential to make
1952s a big cleave later on yeah i like the
1954s vulcan pick yeah over the other two that
1957s i'm thinking about it there i was just
1958s re-evaluating but yeah the vulgin pick
1960s makes a ton of sense uh just taking a
1962s look at the heroes we have i think the
1965s weirdest one or the most like
1966s interesting is the rocking issue i think
1968s that hero
1970s isn't very strong like that's gonna be
1973s my take and i would almost
1976s say there's almost always three other
1978s options at least one of them better than
1979s a rocking issue but sometimes uh if
1982s you're a safe player that is a pick you
1984s can pick because it does have the 10
1985s health and if mexican which they are you
1988s can hero power deflectors and just like
1990s salvage the game through that but
1992s generally that's the one that jumps out
1994s to be as being the weirdest pick in the
1995s lobby
1996s we also have the death speaker black
1998s thorn though which is i want to say also
2000s unconventional but not terrible those
2002s blood gems if you are able to
2005s get to three early and find an early
2007s bristleback brute that is an awesome way
2010s to leverage that hero power into big
2012s stats but we'll see here avalira what
2014s does want to go for the three on three
2016s because he could take the tough task
2018s instead okay
2020s i i do like the tough test here and
2022s actually think this is a pretty good
2024s hero maybe under valued in my opinion
2027s where um the gems actually do a lot of
2030s work uh especially what noggers are and
2032s i think if quillboard nagas i mean
2034s krogers have to be in but if nag is iron
2036s you also open up getting like the 4-2
2038s and then you can buff that reliably and
2042s just buffing up a lava lurker and then
2043s giving it health is is really powerful
2045s so i actually think if nagas are in
2048s blackburn also jumps up in value so i
2049s don't hate this pick here
2051s we are seeing sort of the interplay of
2053s spellcraft with vol'jin you can turn
2055s that uh temporary buff from spellcraft
2058s into permanent stats if you swap them
2061s and so that is an additional reason i
2064s suppose for going for bulge in here
2065s waterloo did go for standard curve but
2068s he also froze the last shop which had
2070s mostly one drop minions even though he
2072s had the coin because there was
2074s sellamental and the pirate didn't end up
2076s getting them though interesting
2079s double gambler though is pretty pretty
2081s good definitely a lot of
2084s options with gambler since you can just
2086s hold that until you find something you
2088s want it looks like they're
2090s he's valuing the pair but there's a good
2091s chance he just locks
2093s blocks that as well so yeah just most
2096s likely gonna lock the
2098s gambler next turn as well and then just
2100s take that
2101s uh the turn afterwards
2103s here we have mutanus
2106s uh mutanus with nagas is also very
2108s abusable because you just eat whatever
2110s you buff with the
2112s with the spellcraft unit so yeah it has
2114s a huge 1710 he probably didn't want all
2117s of his buffs to hit the same minion but
2120s it's still pretty good it's it's a safe
2122s minion it'll keep him somewhat healthy
2124s as long as the fights are
2127s going his way
2128s yeah it's a great start especially with
2129s the two pair for dappy um at some point
2132s he can narrow his board if he hits the
2134s triples and then try and isolate the
2138s munch of the mutanus onto a divine
2139s shield later on that could work out in
2142s his favor mechs are in here and i always
2144s like uh mutants a bit better when mechs
2146s are in because lots of divine shield
2148s targets to benefit
2150s yeah it's really looking at the uh
2154s the zarella the zero is in a pretty good
2156s spot right since uh
2158s he has a ton of pairs and he's going to
2160s do a lot so yeah you could yeah you can
2163s see here now right very very solid spot
2166s uh this is exactly i think what you want
2168s to be doing with zarella you stay on one
2169s for
2170s a long time pretty much turn
2173s four turn five and you try to get as
2175s many pairs as possible and then you just
2177s start leveling leveling and
2180s since your hero power costs two you can
2182s level sell a minion hero power a better
2184s minion in your shop so normally you want
2187s to have the pairs in the shop so you can
2188s just
2189s swap them out but if you don't you can
2191s just replace it with like maybe a spawn
2193s or maybe a mug or something like that
2195s and just keep swapping trying to get
2196s better stats while you're leveling and
2198s hopefully you hit a triple at some point
2199s you get an early five to early six and
2201s you go from there
2202s yeah goddammit's the only player we've
2204s seen so far with the guaranteed triple
2206s that we saw so um that is a spike that
2209s we need to look out for but meanwhile
2211s everybody playing for decent tempo here
2213s caramon hits a brute of his own but
2216s doesn't go for it i'm actually surprised
2218s to see that he didn't sell and buy the
2220s brood and just play a gem on it it would
2221s also trigger his profit of the boar so
2223s he could use the other gem on top tusk
2225s but values the yashiraj hero power
2228s instead
2229s yeah it looks like he's prioritizing
2232s just having
2233s economy over having the best tempo
2235s possible because i do agree right if you
2237s want to
2238s prioritize tempo you would go for the
2241s brood the problem with that is you do
2243s have to sell an extra minion right so
2244s you're going to be playing down a unit
2246s then if you wanted level and hero power
2247s to turn after now you're just making
2249s things harder for yourself so it's more
2252s unfortunate that he didn't get the brood
2253s early enough that he could commit to it
2256s and not feel like he couldn't and level
2258s yeah
2259s did freeze though i wonder if he froze
2261s for the brood itself but moving over to
2264s dapi here
2266s these are not particularly synergistic
2268s with his board state but i think the
2270s nasa matron still looks decent yeah nest
2272s matron is pretty much
2275s always an option just because
2278s if you get one card that can do so much
2280s for you you don't necessarily need to
2282s have a synergistic board with nest
2284s matron if this car just says get a free
2286s coin
2287s uh every oh no taking the green spot
2290s instead so the only reason i would think
2293s you would take the green spot over the
2294s nest merchant is if you're gonna eat it
2296s instead but uh looks like he's just
2298s gonna buy
2300s and eat something else so
2303s it it's an early commitment to divine
2305s shields uh with this play which
2308s i guess with mutanus is fine right
2310s beauty is a very
2311s divine shield-centric hero so as soon as
2314s you find one you can use that
2316s speaking of commitment to divine shields
2318s we have kid with the gem splitter found
2321s this is a great early start for
2322s rakanishu
2323s he also has a clean play next turn of
2326s level buy and hero power hero power
2328s gonna give plus four plus four by that
2330s point and um
2332s most of the time unless he gets very
2333s unlucky he'll get another gem from the
2335s splitter off of the combat so he can
2338s continue to buff that brute and stay
2340s healthy
2341s yeah i think this is exactly what you
2342s need to be looking for if you're playing
2345s this hero i don't think this is a hero
2347s where you wanna
2349s play greedy and you wanna say oh i'll
2351s try to high roll a six drop and then
2353s i'll make my direction i think here you
2355s just gotta you know you gotta take
2357s any option you got and if if they give
2359s you a deflector you take it and you're
2360s just sling on mex because
2362s the longer you take the more damage you
2365s deal and you just don't have enough time
2367s to greed uh like with other heroes right
2371s you can't really beat the zarella and
2373s say oh i'll just level the five and then
2375s take my triple you just have to say hey
2377s i got a deflector and a gel splitter
2380s okay i'm cobor mex i full commitment
2383s here and i think he will just
2385s level by hero power
2387s oh i was gonna ask do you think he would
2388s buy the pajama or the pup bot though
2390s because i was looking at papa to be
2392s honest even though it's a one drop it's
2393s another divine shield minion that has
2396s synergy with the splitter but takes the
2398s avenge minion instead
2401s so
2402s i do think the pop-up would be
2404s reasonable here right because it it
2406s morph
2407s it's the style he's going for it right
2410s if you take the
2411s uh
2412s the popeye right you i don't know divine
2414s should you add a
2415s um
2416s a gem as well to your hand but it seems
2419s that he just wants to try to get a good
2422s spellcraft unit unfortunately there's
2424s not too many like
2427s important spellcrafts i think on four
2430s there's only the plus eight and the wind
2432s fury which you don't really need on
2434s deflecto
2435s uh either way right his deflector is
2437s pretty huge so pretty interesting i
2439s think the the pop-up makes more sense
2441s but pashmina like is just like you get
2443s some synergy maybe you open up something
2445s else and you move away
2447s oh waterloo's hit the triple into
2449s athissa this is the dream he is going to
2453s start consuming uh sorry swapping
2455s minions as well i keep confusing the
2457s vulgen and the mutant his hero power and
2460s converting all of those spellcrafts into
2462s permanent buffs that is such a good
2464s setup i think he's a favorite to take
2466s the lobby down but we do have quite a
2468s few players with um gem setups uh we
2471s just briefly glanced at oleash there who
2474s had the agam already and uh had the jump
2477s splitter in hand which wasn't you know
2480s playable that turn because of no divine
2481s shields but he had the golden road bar
2483s which gives him at least two gems per
2485s turn because of that ghoul yeah you can
2487s see two players actually three players
2489s now are on five so we had the zarella
2492s which was gonna get a six so probably
2493s has a six by now and then we had
2495s waterloo who tripled into the
2497s uh the athisa so really good start from
2500s there gohan
2501s uh also what on the vuljin was trying to
2504s triple but i don't think he had the
2505s triple yet so we'll see now a turn later
2508s oleach also going for the six you can
2510s see the hyrule players are going high
2512s row right they are going for the sixes
2514s they're not gonna bunker down like we
2516s saw in the first lobby they're all
2517s looking for tis they're all looking for
2519s tenders and it looks like everyone's
2520s getting the hits that they want here
2523s this is a tough choice for oleash though
2525s because is it though i mean oh sorry
2527s he has
2528s an ago right it's it's actually pretty
2532s powerful here yeah sorry i thought he
2534s had more than one naga but you're

2558s could commit to it normally i do like
2561s darkgate's full cold boar as long as
2563s miller locks are out with the which they
2565s are since you can uh really
2568s uh abuse the
2570s the four the four drop taunt crowbar
2572s right it gets so many stats uh with that
2575s but it looks like he's deciding between
2577s the brand and the agum yeah i'm gonna go
2578s for brand again which i think is just as
2580s powerful as long as you get the right

2583s yeah bran is so powerful when you have
2585s dark days elder cause you can spend way
2586s more than 10 gold in a turn with that um
2589s it's not like the ideal lobby for brand
2591s because murlocs are out dragons are out
2593s so you don't have access to mirazon and
2595s primalfin to essentially print money for
2598s you and print money you can spend on
2599s dark days but you still have elementals
2602s for tavern tempest and you still have
2604s like as usual reef explorer no matter
2606s what lobby type so the brand can get a
2608s lot of work done on top of just any
2611s other battle cry i will say this is such
2613s a greedy play from oleus though like he
2615s just said i'm not gonna play his his
2618s gems because he wants a better again
2619s target or like an agon setup right
2621s because his board for agap isn't super
2624s premium so he's just like you know what

2958s permanent and he can put wind fury on
2960s that as well just a very fearsome board

2965s i think have hit what they're looking
2967s for this is a lot a lot more stronger
2970s boards than we saw yesterday might be
2973s due to like people more the players that
2975s are here are the ones that did well in
2978s the previous day so maybe they're just
2980s more comfortable playing in this
2981s particular meta but you can see a lot of
2983s them trying to hire a lot of them trying
2985s to find exactly what they they need to
2986s do

2990s that there is a brief moment of
2991s hesitation clues me into the fact that
2993s he's not full apm pirates here just
2995s figuring out how to make the eliza
2998s golden proc as likely as possible

3003s playing tony here you can say it's a bit
3005s greedy but oh okay okay it goes for the
3006s mounted queen because yeah the baron
3010s could represent more stats against
3012s certain bore states but sometimes having
3014s a poison is more important against this
3016s type of board though i would argue that
3018s baron probably makes more sense

3022s don't exactly know where your opponent's
3024s running if he doesn't know oh the
3026s opponent has a bunch of
3028s divine shields because if he looks he
3030s should see quillboards right but when
3032s you assume quillboards you don't assume
3034s oh it's divine's two divine shield mechs
3037s and then
3038s two more divine shield crowbars usually
3041s when people are running a ton of
3042s crowbars it ends up being the
3045s the taunt quillboard and like uh
3047s dark gays and and stuff like that they
3050s don't have divine is this tie-able i
3052s thought goddammit was super dead but if
3054s he just goes left no okay okay that's
3057s still fine it's still fine okay yeah

3063s that that's why i would say like the
3065s eliza varian is better because you look
3067s at this and you're like oh dumb it lost

3080s the skellies get to attack and your
3082s pirates afterwards also get to attack
3084s you get so many buffs especially once
3085s the tony makes the eliza golden so uh
3088s pretty not too shocked to see him

3092s uh huge for olyash that he finds an ice
3094s block and is facing the ghost that's
3096s kind of like saying you have two free
3097s turns to do whatever you like um he
3099s could level okay he does level up to six
3101s here and that gives him so much more
3104s leeway to set up a comp that can
3106s actually take down waterloo who is i
3109s would say the terror of the lobby right
3111s now with that huge windfury cleave um
3114s i'm just going to assume it's
3115s permanently windfury at this point he
3117s can always find a wave rider um
3120s oh two of them another one yeah
3123s that's a big deal i i think a lot of
3126s people are gonna struggle to deal with
3128s uh waterloo's comp he can also put
3130s divine shield on him at some point too
3132s so you have two divine shields probably
3134s with windfury and cleave
3137s it just ruins a lot of people's comps so

3140s tough stuff there waterloo's in a great
3142s position
3144s lyra does have this leroy though which
3146s as we know can punish cleaves a little
3149s bit obviously he doesn't know that
3151s that's what's coming to him and i also
3153s doesn't know where it's taught it yeah
3155s and i don't know if waterloo ended up
3156s with a cleave first right so the leroy
3159s might die before it even uh can
3162s potentially get hit by a faux reaper
3165s a lot of shields though maybe he loves
3168s maybe
3170s it's not looking
3171s super hot honestly yeah especially with
3173s that uh going there just two cleaves
3176s double cleave is just so strong of a
3178s thing to do on your board uh because
3182s like even if one cleave messes up most
3184s of the time the second complete cleans

3190s missing the reset on the deflector is
3192s probably the final nail in the coffin
3194s here for valera that's a really rough
3197s one because generally
3199s like just a ground shaker with that many
3201s shields is a consistent way of making
3203s top four but not quite in these lobbies

3208s we weren't looking valeera and goddammit
3211s have also died here a while ago gohan

3215s karamon i don't think we even noticed we
3217s only saw kid died but so many people
3220s have fallen victim to i can only assume
3223s waterloo

3226s you can really tell this is more of
3228s high roll players during their thing so
3231s many people went for sixes so many
3232s people got the sixes they were looking
3234s forward to and you can just say oh yeah
3237s um if you don't contest with the high
3240s rollers you'll just get blown out by
3242s them in the mid and like in the mid to
3244s late game like they are now so even
3246s though normally right that black thorn
3248s will do well it could top two or even
3250s you know maybe not win but do do do a
3253s lot of damage here once you start
3254s fighting the high rollers which were you
3257s know only edge and waterloo and even god
3260s dumb at at times you just start getting
3262s blown out
3263s elias sitting on the ice block i think
3266s is a shoe-in for at least second place
3268s um
3269s and his board isn't super vulnerable to
3272s cleave right the first cleave can kill
3274s everything i think except the agam here
3277s but the second cleave isn't large enough
3279s last time we saw it at least to
3281s uh pick off multiple minions here and
3283s oleash is also going to play down an
3284s acolyte to potentially be stronger
3286s against the cleave he's done a great job
3288s of transitioning from like oh he didn't
3292s quite transition i should say but he
3294s found the right balance of number of
3295s quillboard and number of different
3297s minion types to play to still leverage
3299s that argument

3301s what uh oleach is actually looking for
3304s probably is a necro light so that's one
3306s of the key
3308s pieces of
3309s a real cobra composition with dark gaze
3312s dark gaze gives everything blood gems
3314s and what you do is you try to find the
3317s cleave so most likely you look for a
3321s uh buster or not buster but a for reaper
3323s of your own and then you you necro light
3326s all of your yeah your blood gems onto
3329s that one buster and then you end up
3331s having like a hundred attack for reaper
3333s and usually that's good enough to attack
3336s twice maybe three times and solo their
3338s board so that's the one key thing that
3340s he's actually looking for
3343s waterloo takes the expected victory here
3346s but doesn't proc the ice block from
3348s oleash so i think oleash is
3350s guaranteed at least top two from this
3352s point um dappy i don't know if he can
3355s stand up to this it's been a while since
3356s we saw his board

3359s all daphi needs to do is not get one
3361s shot so not take 23

3365s would be the if he can beat only that's
3367s right that's so there there are a couple
3369s caveats he used to be over the edge and

3455s 172 90 90 health to 90 attack and 172

3576s annual module on his second cleave not
3579s wanting to shield up that second fur
3581s reaper he does have the glow scale so
3583s maybe he wants to use that instead and
3585s have it non-taunted but it is
3587s interesting that you you skip the divine
3589s shoot and not just put the glow scone on
3591s something else entirely

3595s myrmidon which i think he was just
3596s buffing up one of those minions getting
3598s ready to swap at least it was about 80
3601s something when we last saw it it's gonna
3603s be enormous stats when it swapped onto

3607s starts so that be definitely feeling a
3610s bit dead here but let's see just how
3613s much oh he didn't play the ramadan

3914s nagas in he seems to know

3917s whether to focus on maybe buffing up
3919s myrmidons or whether to buff up queens
3922s right so in the previous uh bulging game
3925s he didn't have access to cleve as easily
3927s as he did this time and he just ended up
3930s buffing it he did have a really good
3932s start ride with the atissa super early
3934s at this uh and just like committed to
3935s that uh very cleanly so didn't have like
3938s a hard game but definitely played it out
3941s to get the win once he was in the a good
3943s position
3945s it's really cool to see players that
3947s have you know so much confidence on a
3949s specific hero that they'd be willing to
3950s take it even
3952s over shutter walk for example in a big
3954s in a perfect lobby and you can see that
3956s waterloo is aware of all the little
3959s tricks you can do with bulgin not only
3961s where naga and quilboar were as well and
3963s you can do things with necrolyte and
3965s blood gem to double up on the value with
3967s bulging this is something that you know
3969s there's so many interactions to be aware
3971s of even in the post body meta and nice
3974s to see waterloo getting rewarded for
3976s that but overall such an intense um
3979s first game because collins it's so
3981s different than the first couple games
3983s from yesterday we saw a lot of players
3985s aiming for that first place right from
3986s the get-go
3988s yeah i mean i do think we just have more
3991s roll players in this
3993s group of players than in the first lobby
3996s the lot the the other one tend to i i
3998s thought there was more safe players than
3999s they did playsafe this one i think
4001s there's more players that
4003s will take a risk and and get even an
4006s eighth place if they can like guarantee
4008s your first so you saw a lot of people
4009s going to five going to six even early
4012s enough and like getting their sixes and
4014s then playing off of that right we saw
4016s double dark gays we saw so many atheists
4019s a lot of tenders
4020s on their board we saw a couple people
4023s playing eliza even too right so just so
4025s many sixes on the board a lot of players
4027s really going for that uh the strongest
4030s boards possible and then you know
4031s getting rewarded or punished based on
4033s how lucky they are
4036s very very true we didn't unfortunately
4038s get to see too much from uh caramel and
4041s gohan gohan also picked vol'jin right he
4044s had the potential to do everything that
4046s waterloo did but maybe got knocked out a
4049s little bit too quickly and look at the
4051s difference it makes only half a point
4053s each for seventh and eighth place but
4055s waterloo king of the lobby so far with
4058s the full seven we do have kind of a big
4060s drop off between third and fourth and so
4063s once again compared to yesterday that
4065s middle spot is very very much contested
4067s but different to yesterday it's not
4069s about just these first three lobbies
4072s this is going to be extended and
4074s extended because it's all about who can
4076s reach check first of all

4080s it's gonna be a race here most of the

4359s terror on ladder and he is proving that
4361s he can convert that into tournament
4363s results as well collins any other
4366s reactions about that first game
4368s i thought it was pretty interesting it
4370s kind of showcased a lot of the styles of
4372s the players uh there were a lot of just
4376s heavy like a lot of risk i think from
4378s the players in the first game and i
4380s think first games tend to have players
4382s take the most risk because
4384s they're just kind of opening the box how
4386s lucky am i going to be today you know am
4388s i going to am i going to am i going to
4389s be on bob's side am i not so i think i
4392s we just saw a lot of people rolling the
4393s dice just going for that
4396s tier 6 power spike and a lot of them got
4398s it actually so i didn't really see too
4400s many players there was that one player
4402s that got the know me into uh second
4404s nominee i think that was dubbed actually
4406s but he recovered that
4407s a little bit right not not really
4409s faltering too hard or getting eight like
4411s that but i do think we'll see more of
4413s that especially the ones that did well
4415s just continue to go for that the high
4417s roll play styles especially if pirates
4419s are in nagasa and crowbars are in right
4421s it just kind of encourages that gameplay
4423s as well so
4424s uh that's that's my reaction from the
4426s first game i'm glad you pointed that out
4428s because i think a pattern we've been
4429s noticing throughout the weekend is that
4431s whenever naga are in and especially naga
4434s with quillboard and the overall power
4436s level of the lobby rises so much but we
4439s do have another treat to show everyone
4441s before we jump into the next game it is
4443s another card reveal and if you've
4446s noticed we've been moving up in the
4448s tavern tiers the last one we showed was
4450s a tier four i wonder if okay still a
4452s tier four blaster more standard cards
4455s yeah
4457s taunt death throttle deal three to all
4459s minions the deal three to all minions is
4462s the weird one right like that's
4465s that's what makes it kind of interesting
4468s because
4469s big ghoul

4472s yeah i guess it is just oh yeah that's

4474s ghoul

4477s it's a leroy killing ghoul

4493s has synergy with baron just like that

4501s baron you could run golden blaster with
4503s a baron that deals 12 to everything that
4506s kills them that kills like busters that

4516s you could really just start trolling

4519s with golden versions of this card so
4523s pretty interesting addition the fact
4526s that it's a tier four minutes is gonna
4528s be harder to triple but
4530s what does this mean for ghoul right like
4533s you wouldn't run ghoul and this
4536s in the same board so that's pretty
4537s interesting as well i mean so far we've
4539s been kind of running with the assumption
4541s that some cards are getting replaced
4543s with new cards like the atramedes that
4545s we saw a while ago looks like it's gonna
4547s replace fire respawn just our
4549s speculation um so maybe this card could
4552s come in place of ghoul which is an
4554s interesting way of looking at it because
4555s google is such a crucial tech card but i
4558s wonder if they wanted to maybe limit its
4561s availability just like how selfless hero
4563s as a tech card just went up from tier
4564s one to tier two a bit too common because
4566s it's too strong
4568s yeah i mean i wouldn't say google's too
4570s strong or anything like that it is
4571s interesting like google is one of the
4572s cards i hate seeing onto so removing it
4575s and making it a tier four might be
4577s better but it is interesting to do that
4579s i'm not 100 sure how i would evaluate
4582s that change but it is interesting here
4584s another shutter walk
4586s oh and this is a pretty good shutter
4588s walk lobby as well yeah gonna yes it is
4590s finally shutter gaming it feels like
4593s it's been forever
4595s i'm actually not happy to see shutter
4597s like if if he gets lucky it's gonna be
4601s very toxic for the rest of the
4603s competitors here so i don't know i like
4605s you can leave shutter rock out of the
4607s pool honestly for me so i'm not happy to
4609s see it it's gonna be fun if he gets a
4611s good start but it's not gonna be fun for

4619s start that shutter wants to see but um
4621s i'm gonna go ahead and say that i have
4623s been wanting to see at least one shutter
4625s game throughout the weekend and timing
4627s wise i am so glad that it's here before

4631s the shutter was just straight away
4634s somebody was already checking the lobby
4635s and hits the shutter but right now this
4638s is still the points accumulating stage
4640s nobody is close to that 20 point mark

4645s the hero choices do you have vorden
4646s again i keep pointing this out because
4649s we've consistently seen
4651s dawn grasp as a pretty common pick
4652s throughout this tournament but one that
4654s doesn't perform quite so well on ladder
4656s on average but these players are
4658s obviously the best of the best i hope
4660s that varden gets their time to shine

4664s though only one that really stands out
4667s to me is dumbest pick and i actually
4669s this whole weekend dumbest been having
4672s some of the weirder pics he had that
4673s sneed earlier too oh my goodness

4683s oh my god it's still a good shutter

4691s one of those games i can feel it already

4702s back again taking a look at the
4704s curator i'm actually not that big of a
4706s curator fan uh just because it's a lot
4709s harder to
4711s create a board stay where you can use
4712s that amalgadon i think in in a lot of
4715s lobbies especially when like elementors
4717s are out and demons are out you're not
4719s getting those early buffs that you want
4721s to
4722s make that amalgam
4724s viable or
4726s or at least
4727s reasonable to keep so i don't know if
4729s we're going to be seeing
4731s uh
4733s a high
4734s i don't know if we're going to be seeing
4736s that magdalen being kept in the late
4737s game i think it might be sold later on
4740s without the murlocs tough to get it to
4742s be super useful but at least in terms of
4745s standard curve it's a decent start for
4746s dumbet he can sell that
4748s bacon relaxer and put some gems on the
4751s road board to make sure it can
4752s consistently keep getting that frenzy
4755s effect but i want to point out that um
4758s reno waterloo on the reno did have that
4760s alley cat start which he can leverage
4762s into a five drop which he can golden at
4765s some point maybe even a six but i doubt
4767s he'll have the time in a lobby of this
4769s caliber to go for a six without doing
4771s anything else uh and then of course we
4773s had oliash on the deck swabi and alicat
4776s start as shutters so two players with so
4778s much potential to spike are the two
4780s players that finish first and second
4782s last lobby so we could be on our way to
4785s um a check situation very very soon
4788s yeah i think uh waterloo's in a pretty
4791s good position he's just leveling to
4793s three going three on three and then
4795s probably gonna go
4796s to four well he well he can't right
4799s because he's not gonna sell his alley
4801s cat so he'll maybe just buy the buy the
4803s two units and then next turn level and
4805s go for a five i don't think he can
4807s realistically go for a six he could like
4810s to be fair he could do that but uh it's
4812s it's a ton of risk and maybe unnecessary
4815s risk as well that uh to do that so i i
4817s think since baser and you just get the
4820s five hope it's one of the beast
4822s uh five drops and a hero power then
4824s you're pretty safe you're pretty much
4825s getting a top four from there so i would
4827s like to see that
4828s you did see kid go three on three here
4831s and now has the decision whether he
4832s wants to immediately buy the looter or
4834s go for this line which i like which is
4836s play uh buy the other three drop and
4838s then freeze this so there's only one
4839s other slot that can be refreshed and
4842s it's unlikely that it is both a three
4844s drop and the one that's going to be
4845s copied by the hero power so most
4847s situations he will get the triple on the
4849s salty looter yeah so waterloo as well
4852s doing what i suggested ride buying the
4854s two alley cats since he can't sell his
4856s alley cat to level this is the next best
4858s thing you just buy the two i like cats
4860s and next turn you level play the ally
4863s cats hope you get a good five and then
4864s see if you want a hero power of that so
4866s big turn here for waterloo uh really
4869s that
4870s really will decide how the rest of his
4872s game plays out
4873s right and just to contextualize for
4875s people who aren't super up to date with
4878s ladder or who is at the top of the
4880s leaderboard you can safely bat that
4882s waterloo is consistently there this is a
4884s player that is feared by ladder grinders
4887s across all the servers and here it is
4889s you know maybe too strong for word but
4891s yeah he's very very good
4894s heavily respected yes that is fine

4898s now does he respect people enough to go
4900s for a five surely right he's at 23. can
4903s he take a six i don't think so

4963s a hogging hero pirated so
4965s sometimes what you can do with shoulder
4967s walk if you are in that exact situation
4969s you can just like wait a turn stay on
4971s one a little bit longer try to get the
4973s swabbie triple there and then if you get
4974s the swabby trick with the turn after you
4977s end up saving so much more gold right
4979s because right now with the hero powers
4980s he saves two gold but if he triple that
4982s swabi he ends up saving four gold on
4984s each
4985s each thing so i think that's what i
4987s would have looked for just like stay the
4989s turn later and then try to get that
4991s swabby triple maybe see another alley
4993s cat as well right and then you can pop
4995s off it's going to be a turn later but
4998s if you do get
4999s two sixes like it's still fine even if
5001s it's a turn later so
5003s kind of interesting i'm gonna go ahead
5004s and guess that oleash probably rolled
5006s down a lot and didn't find any of the
5008s good battle cries and maybe he felt
5010s pressured to take just the one triple
5012s for a five here which is obviously not
5014s the big shutter walk pop off that we
5017s were hyping up but
5018s perhaps you're happy collins because you
5020s didn't want to see a toxic no
5022s no i'm i'm actually not happy for this
5025s for a different reason because now you
5028s know blizzard's gonna look at this and
5029s be like ah sure rock's fine like we saw
5031s a high-level player play this and it was
5033s like it wasn't even that good like he
5036s just got a five drop and now we're we're
5038s not gonna touch shutter at all look at
5039s this we have the evidence now where like
5042s you know a lot of us players are just
5044s like no come on olia destroy the lobby
5046s show them that it's broken and they're
5048s just like no it's fine you know so i'm
5050s not that happy here
5055s uh
5056s i will refrain from commenting in fear
5059s for my job
5063s i i'm being honest it's fun uh but yeah
5066s pretty interesting uh board from the kid
5068s here
5069s just looking for that green thumb triple
5072s he doesn't have a full board right so he
5074s doesn't have a lot of procs for the
5075s green thumb but i still think if you can
5078s get a nice setup which he does already
5080s have with the taunted
5082s mythrax you can really
5085s do a lot of damage with uh a golden
5088s green thumb so hopefully um
5091s his next couple turns are a lot better
5094s because he is taking a lot here
5096s yeah uh oleash hitting the double bird
5098s buddy and sort of leveraging that one
5101s five drop into heavy tempo is punishing
5105s kid here and i don't even maybe it's not
5107s even right to call this a punish because
5109s i don't think there was much kid could
5111s really do about it but it's time to see
5114s whether he can stabilize looking for a
5116s five drop of his own
5119s i would say the punish would maybe be
5121s going three on three uh right so you go
5123s three on three and you hope that you can
5126s recover your power uh in a couple turns
5129s and he ended up getting triples and
5130s getting a four and things like that but
5132s it wasn't a lot of like instant power i
5134s wouldn't say uh salty there's a ton of
5137s power instantly i wouldn't say green
5139s thumb is a ton of power instantly the
5141s mid tax is pretty good and he tripled
5143s into an annoying module which is also
5145s like decent but it does it's not enough
5147s to kind of warrant the risk of playing
5150s so many units down and going three on
5152s three
5153s fair enough
5155s doesn't hit any particularly directional
5157s fives either just takes the leroy for a
5159s decent tempo but it's not a hogger it's
5162s not a tony to try and get the golden on
5164s the peggy so
5166s gonna be a struggle once again for a
5168s varden player but dumbet here
5171s impressively has just
5173s managed to turn this curator start into
5176s almost flawless health so far i don't
5179s even know if he took any damage at all
5181s and this might be good enough for this
5183s type of lobby to finish top four just
5185s making sure you dominate the early game
5187s and die slowly later
5189s uh the problem though in like high level
5191s lobbies is even if you dominate the
5193s early game like people spike and then
5195s you take 20 as soon as someone dies
5197s right so you don't get eight but you get
5198s like seven and six so he still needs to
5201s find the direction he is kind of abusing
5204s the
5205s um
5206s what's it called the two fives what are
5208s they called
5210s the smugglers yeah so he's abusing the
5211s smugglers to give his amalgadon a ton of
5214s health uh but until he finds like a
5217s kelly it's not really
5219s clean direction if he can find a kelly
5222s or something like that then it's gonna
5223s feel a lot better but for now
5225s right this is where he starts to fall
5226s off so that's that's my fear
5229s is there a world where he goes froggers
5231s he does have only frog and i think it's
5234s time to level to five to try and find
5236s baron
5237s water loose at three right so that's
5239s actually also a really big deal he hear
5241s a power of the hogger so i wonder if
5243s he's able to recover here this is a
5245s really important turn for waterloo right
5247s also he's first in the lobby right so
5249s having a poor performance would also do
5251s a lot for the uh the morale of the rest
5254s of the players
5256s that's a really important turn here for
5258s a lot of different reasons
5260s yeah having somebody lose is good for
5262s everybody else's morale it's not shot
5264s and fried it's just competition here

5269s waterloo here looking for that triple on
5271s the south sea captain but honestly
5274s if he doesn't hit exactly that into
5277s another hogger he doesn't have a real
5279s engine here because you're not salty

5284s but he's not truly infinite until he
5287s gets another hogger he does still have
5289s six gold in his hand right so it's it's
5292s it's not a ton of
5293s he still has a lot to play with right

5296s he just needs to triple something

5365s managing to level all the way up to six
5368s as omu just a very clean omu game so far

5373s several directions he could go for but i
5375s think is leaning mex right now every
5377s direction actually he has the eliza he
5380s has the buster there's a mama and a gas
5382s curler in the shop if you wanted to so
5385s just a ton of direction here but it
5387s looks like he is committing to the
5389s buster with that um
5391s macro by there
5395s right the faux reaper as well um
5398s normally i don't see pho reaper bot
5401s um
5402s with a priority in buster comp but i
5404s thought he maybe was trying to leverage
5406s the green thumb a little bit to buff
5407s that but realizes it's falling up off a
5409s bit here freezes the baron in the shop
5411s has really strong prospects for later on
5414s but we return to waterloo on the apm
5416s pirates has plenty of pirates in the
5419s shop
5420s still not quite the license to level but
5422s he's sitting on so many pairs has more
5425s chances to find hogger and he found
5427s double peggy right so he's getting a
5428s little bit more scaly usually with
5430s buster when you're leveling to six like
5432s that and you have a buster not like
5434s premium
5435s uh mechs what you end up doing is just
5437s buying any premium mech you can so
5439s that's like deflecto macro cleave and
5442s once you have like four or five of those
5444s then you start looking to clean it up
5447s find the baron find the
5448s macaw find other
5450s comps to make that come stronger but
5452s first you need the pieces right you see
5453s he still had the eliza so um that kind
5456s of showcases that his comp isn't fully
5459s freshed out so i can see why he would
5460s take the phone in that situation
5462s meanwhile for dobby things are looking
5464s dire he's had you know the good gem
5467s splitter start as george but only on 15
5469s and i feel like he's been rolling for
5471s ages for uh ground shaker and hasn't
5473s found it has had to settle for the
5475s grease spots and it means the gems are
5477s only giving their base value every
5479s single turn but kid
5481s is knocked out there
5483s by kind of a very similar comp right to
5485s water blue has double hogger but doesn't
5488s have some of the other scaling there's
5490s actually so many players with hogger
5492s right though yeah great matt also has
5494s the hogger kid had a hogger waterloo
5496s also has a hogger so a lot of these
5498s players are looking for hogger as their
5499s main engine uh in this lobby usually hog
5503s or buster it seems to be in this
5504s particular game
5506s oh merzon discovers pretty good if just
5508s for economy because i believe gohan has
5510s a brand on the far right here
5513s um
5514s does have a crush on the board so maybe
5516s the pair is also worth looking at
5519s yeah either the mirazon for the economy
5521s or the quest for the tempo but it
5523s doesn't really look like he needs to
5525s temple that much so i can see just
5527s looking for the economy also depending
5529s on who he fought they it might give him
5530s like maybe a buster or something and he
5532s might do something with it so i was
5534s honestly thinking that the mirazon maybe
5535s gave him enough gold to level this turn
5538s and
5539s start rolling on six for an additional
5540s mantid or something like that because
5542s i'm not really sure where this comp goes
5544s from here on tier five
5547s he's playing menagerie essentially so
5549s he's just kind of looking to wow he got
5551s the there's a triple there
5554s it's a random sewer rat triple yeah but
5557s he's looking to buff his croc or it's
5560s not croc but his uh baby crush he's
5562s looking to
5563s buff his dragon he's looking to buff his
5565s hogger so it's just a menagerie comp
5567s yeah
5569s fair enough
5571s and we'll see what the sewerad gives him
5572s another mounted queen would obviously be
5574s ideal wow okay
5577s yeah now it's in a much better spot

5581s so many different minion types and then
5583s you also have the selfless um the one
5586s fear is if he's not
5596s i mean it depends on what what is the
5600s omu playing the almost playing max okay
5603s he's thinking maybe the
5605s um the buffs on the uh the
5609s what's it called
5612s the baby crush and the
5614s sura rat will be better than the
5616s atlantic bridge which i can see right

5621s analysis to make so i think it works out

5625s i guess specifically max it does make
5627s sense to value poison a bit more low but
5631s barely loses here doesn't get knocked

5635s doesn't have any more losses left in him

5639s waterloo is going to take out oleash

5643s this is a huge recovery by the way from
5645s waterloo uh i will say right he was in a
5648s very
5649s rough spot uh like three health had a
5652s hogger
5653s like a golden hog and that's about it
5655s but over two turns was able to find the
5657s golden salty into the the peggy and then
5660s just was able to just
5662s zoom zoom stats and and now he's he's
5665s now a dominating uh player in the lobby
5668s now right he's the one that took out kid
5670s he's the one that took out ole yet so
5671s wow
5672s what a what a transition there right it
5675s was looking doomed but he was able to
5678s have enough of a you know confidence and
5680s like oh i'll just commit to this and
5682s ended up
5683s being really strong now so really cool
5685s to see super impressive stuff we could
5687s be seeing back to back first places
5690s quite soon but uh over on dappy's
5692s perspective he's finally found the
5693s ground shaker so obviously a lot
5695s stronger than he was in previous combats
5699s but doesn't potentially look like he's
5701s gonna take a first place um he's the
5703s next to fight valeera so he's gonna face
5705s mex on the other side i don't know if
5707s valera has had the time to find a ghoul
5710s pyramid is doing what i theorycrafted if
5712s legs wasn't in if if there wasn't lag
5715s you run the dark case you run the golden
5717s hogger and you just like have infinite
5719s gold while you're scaling from the dark
5721s gates unfortunately due to the lag this
5723s isn't as good because you don't have the
5726s time to really
5727s uh make it work as efficiently as
5729s possible but definitely like if once
5732s that gets fixed like that's going to be
5733s a really strong scaling composition so
5736s really cool to see it
5738s okay valera has found time for a ghoul
5741s here and
5743s uh with the baron as well for the buster
5746s it's gonna be quite a lot of stats
5748s does this ever end up as a tie
5752s oh
5752s it's it's possible right so as long as
5755s the girl goes oh the acolyte though okay
5758s yeah but i mean the goal is still
5760s taunted so at some point right it will
5762s go into the the goal and then you'll
5764s lose the rest of the shields but
5766s potentially he gets more value out of
5768s these shields and that's what's good
5771s this goes okay okay
5773s yeah that needed to go there uh to even
5776s have a chance i even think even without
5778s the the shields like the the the scaling
5781s from the george is too much he has the
5783s grease spot and he has the jump splitter
5785s so that's just so much scaling so i
5787s don't think it's going to be enough for
5789s the
5789s uh the omu here unfortunately he's at 29
5792s so he's not like super
5794s super weak so he does take the one
5797s briefly saw dummett was next on
5799s waterloo's chopping block that is pretty
5802s insane i don't think anybody has the
5805s comp to try and beat waterloo at the
5807s moment um
5809s gohan had the mounted queens right
5811s that's something that can maybe stand up
5812s to pirates huge pirates yeah i i think
5815s gohan and maybe the george has the best
5818s chance of dealing with
5820s uh
5821s waterloo here george still george's
5824s board isn't like super a ton of stats so
5827s uh maybe he will struggle too he does
5830s have the jump splitter so with the extra
5832s like 20 hell 20 attack that might be
5834s enough but
5836s uh definitely gonna be rough uh if you
5838s can't take out waterloo early
5841s he's in a position to just scale
5842s infinitely
5845s i am a big fan of caramon's board with
5847s that um hogger and dark gaze synergy as
5851s well as peggy it's like the perfect
5852s halfway point between pirates and
5854s quillboard that you do still end up with
5857s a very real comp um doesn't look like
5859s he's gonna take down the lobby but just
5862s securing a top four is still decent
5865s gohan here
5866s is completely transitioning over to
5869s poison scam
5870s it's hard to do without murlocs in so at
5873s some point
5875s needs to find some leeroys as well to
5876s round this out i think
5878s yeah this ended up being a significantly
5881s safer uh lobby i think it's because
5884s nagas aren't in so you don't have the
5886s high roll of tender or disa
5889s uh it's just less enticing to go for a
5891s six if that you can't hit that as an
5894s option so you see more people going for

5945s buster's a lot better
5947s but uh doesn't have it though
5949s waterloo just drops an extra leroy i
5951s don't think it would have changed the
5953s outcome if it weren't leroy here but at
5955s least for
5957s uh dappy he still stays alive here
5963s yeah we have the fated battle between
5965s the mountains and the pirate player
5968s it's not super great for gohan because
5971s now waterloo has a
5973s cleave
5975s right and that's that's a big deal that
5977s you just have a cleave to deal with the
5980s uh the mantids right the monsters are
5982s also right next to each other so they're
5984s both gonna get cleave most likely uh
5987s even if
5988s gohan goes first uh the selfless isn't
5991s really gonna do too much against
5993s waterloo sports so
5995s the cleave might be the difference maker
5997s he could
5998s move the mantids uh around make them not
6001s together so they both don't get cleaves
6003s at the same time that is something he
6005s could do but if he does keep this exact
6007s positioning it's he's going to get
6008s punished from the
6010s uh the appearance of a cleave
6013s i'm going to briefly mention that gohan
6015s had the option to have another hogger
6018s here but he sold it in favor of just
6021s keeping that baby crush obviously there
6022s wasn't that time to truly transition
6025s into or at least for half the board
6027s transition into ap empire it's just
6029s playing for the best tempo he can here
6031s ending on
6032s was that a kaboom bought by
6036s kaboombot first

6038s i would maybe move the mantids a little
6040s bit but i have i've got vision right i
6043s can see everything so it's not really
6045s fair when you're when you're down there
6047s like trying to analyze oh you haven't
6048s fought waterloo at all what's he gonna
6050s have you don't really know and it's all
6052s pirates you wouldn't assume that he has
6054s a full reaper cleave first it's not
6057s something you admit you'd you'd just be
6059s like oh yeah he's all pirates he has a
6061s four reaper too of course let's play
6062s around that it hit double shields on the
6065s mountains but it's not going to be
6067s enough here there is simply too much
6069s stats and that reborn um gas coiler to
6073s top it all off not even necessary here
6076s but
6076s it's gonna be a huge overkill and that's
6079s gonna be waterloo taking down the player
6081s that we thought had the most potential
6083s to counter him so i think it's looking
6085s like a very clear road to another first
6087s place for waterloo yeah i do think if
6090s the mountains weren't together the
6092s cleave doesn't pop both of the divine
6095s shields right so maybe it pops one and
6097s then you see like he barely lost
6099s with like waterloo just had one minion
6102s left
6102s maybe with the um
6105s with the better positioning he wouldn't
6108s he would still have the extra divine
6110s shield and then maybe he gets the win
6112s there so that that's the one thing you
6113s could look at but generally i would say
6115s while he was going to be favored most of
6117s the time on that fight
6118s he just has too many big stats so even
6121s with the
6122s um the extra mantis queens it's likely
6125s not going to be enough
6128s well returning to dapi he had a big
6130s smile on his face i think just making
6132s sure that he could take down a second i
6134s don't know if he feels confident on
6135s beating waterloo at this point triple
6138s shaker but cannot afford it well he
6141s could triple cell
6143s um uh
6145s it's it's not super great to do it but
6147s it's definitely an option
6148s yeah i'm gonna go for it yeah so i i
6151s think it does make sense because it
6152s makes you so much stronger to have it on
6154s the board compared to not having on the
6156s board you don't get the um
6159s you don't get the divine shield but
6161s holy mackerel doesn't need it right so
6163s it's not too big of a loss the one issue
6165s with this is that you're not getting
6167s gems for next turn but they're both
6170s single digits so i'm just assuming he's
6172s like yeah there's no next turn so let me
6173s just let me just try
6175s there that's a very good assessment and
6178s he does get faux reaper which is a
6180s decent hit on the six drop just to take
6183s off several shields played for maximum
6185s tempo um the golden ground shaker buff
6189s is super relevant if you're reading
6190s pirates because it does usually just
6192s become a big stat battle at that point
6195s yeah macro can actually win this which
6198s they disgust me honestly but it can
6201s happen right if macro just like bounces
6203s and bounces and bounces and bounces
6205s i don't want to see it though
6207s man if tunnel blaster really is
6209s replacing ghoul doesn't that make george
6211s so much stronger because it's so hard to
6213s attack her yeah or it's like rare to
6215s find the tech
6217s george has been happy with the reveals
6219s in my opinion i think a lot of the
6220s reveals are actually pretty good george

6223s it is actually going to be a win for

6227s kind of shocked honestly i thought
6228s waterloo had that unlocked but the
6230s mackerels and the decision to triple
6232s cell for the ground shaker were so
6234s clutch

6237s macros you know they are
6240s very strong if i'm gonna be nice about
6242s it they are very good like getting an
6245s extra shield is so broken and then being
6248s able to do that on two minions that can
6250s give more shields after that is just so
6253s powerful especially if you buffed your
6254s attack so

6258s good play though right from the george i
6260s i wasn't it wasn't looking like the
6262s georgia was going to go for the win or
6264s get the win but was able to get golden
6267s shaker had the jump splitters early in
6269s the game had the great spot early in the
6271s game just had a good setup and i don't
6274s think that uh waterloo played
6277s ghoul at the end did he
6279s he didn't play so that's more on
6282s waterloo's fault right like he has a
6283s golden hogger he should be able to see
6285s like oh maybe i need this goal but
6287s decided not to play the go and you can
6288s see the punish right if he had to go
6290s probably wins 100 so you could maybe
6292s criticize waterloo at the end he was
6294s probably rolling for it maybe just
6296s didn't hit it right but if you see that
6298s oh george is still alive that late in
6300s the game maybe you want to like buy it
6302s as soon as you see it the last two three
6304s turns so that is maybe the one caviar
6306s the one criticism you could make for
6307s waterloo but still
6309s salvaging a a game that looked like an
6311s eighth place into a first a second place
6314s potentially first place game is really
6316s incredible there yeah very impressive
6318s stuff i would also say dapi had a lot of
6320s salvaging to do because i think he found
6322s the ground shaker very late or much
6325s later than you'd prefer as george but
6326s still managed to hang in there early
6328s enough finding that gem splitter and
6330s leveraging the green spots to make sure
6332s he had still some sort of scaling in the
6334s meantime and converting that into a
6337s first place is very very good stuff um
6340s really not looking good for kid here and
6342s for oleash a bit of his hard work in the
6344s first game a bit undone by that seventh
6346s place we are going to see a bit more
6348s evening out in the points with the
6350s exception of waterloo of course who now
6352s has a total of 13 which by my math
6355s collins means that if he
6357s takes first place in the third game of
6359s the day he could put the lobby in check
6362s it's actually a two horse race right now
6364s right the pedo also got
6366s third
6367s so
6369s they're both doing extremely well for
6371s themselves actually just kind of
6372s dominating the rest of the competition
6374s so we'll see if that continues right so
6377s very good we've kind of talked our
6379s praise on both of these players
6381s throughout this tournament so far and
6382s they just keep showing up so it's hard
6384s not to continue talking about them but
6386s yeah they're both doing really well in
6388s these first two games
6390s yeah they are running away ahead of the
6392s rest of the lobby but crucially even
6394s though it's just one point difference
6396s only waterloo is in contention to put
6398s the lobby in check at the very next
6400s game uh it does need to be first right

6405s i mean it's waterloo look at him first
6407s and second so far he if he picks vol'jin
6410s he just takes first every single time
6412s all he needs to do is hit a vulgin again

6422s uh him to do poorly right you could see
6425s he's more of the hyrule player right
6426s where he he puts himself in three health
6429s but then he takes that eighth place

6432s really the skill set you'd need to to do
6435s to climb in ladder and also to perform
6437s really really well in these tournaments
6438s so i really like uh his play style right
6441s i definitely always like watching those
6443s type of players just kind of
6445s dance on the edge right dance on three
6447s health and be like i'm fine i could be
6449s at three and at eight place position and
6451s just take it all the way to the second
6453s or first even so really cool to see that
6456s is right all our lobby legends players
6457s to a certain extent push the limits uh
6460s that being said even though waterloo is
6462s super ahead the likes of kid who are you
6465s know trailing behind the rest of the
6467s lobby they're not out of contention just
6469s yet it's different than it was yesterday
6471s where it's only three games because even

6474s you know a couple players put the lobby
6476s in check if they don't take a first
6478s place you can still creep up to that 20
6480s mark point uh 20 point mark yourself and
6483s then
6484s take down the lobby after that as well

6767s seen so far today vol'jin and george

6773s uh i think we're due to see like a good
6776s barden game actually another another
6779s hero i think that that should do pretty
6781s well is zarella so maybe one of those

6784s uh they have i mean there's a lot of
6786s good heroes that can win in this meta
6788s and they seem to be picking those heroes
6789s and doing well with them so i think
6791s those two would be my hero guests and i
6794s like to give two and see which one is

6803s this is you know a very very fun time we
6805s have seen today at remedies and tunnel
6807s blaster we have two more throughout the
6810s day and i think a new card will be

6817s many words with minion types but we are
6819s seeing now a new mech
6821s you're doing a lot of uh
6824s constructor cards or at least arena
6826s cards for me uh war gear i definitely
6829s uh remember and this is interesting
6831s because i feel like there isn't enough
6833s magnetics right so now they're adding
6836s even more magnetic so this is a five
6837s five magnetic
6839s buffs good buff for
6841s uh deflectors and things five five five
6843s has a pretty good stat line right it's
6845s one of the best stat lines for magnetic
6847s cards so it now
6849s gives every divine shield mech more of a
6852s priority because you know you can hit
6853s this on tavern 4 and just like turn your
6855s pup bot into a a 7 6 which is a lot more
6858s of a threat so i do think just being a
6861s magnetic is strong in itself i know
6863s omega buster used to
6865s have the magnetic tag but it was deemed
6867s too strong so uh hopefully this one
6870s doesn't have that same faith and loses
6872s some of the tag because i do think uh
6874s mechs do need a little bit more of a
6876s power spike to contest with the late
6878s game scaling of some of the other
6879s compositions especially naga so
6881s hopefully this can even the odds a
6883s little bit
6885s on the flip side even though it has that
6887s up side of um
6889s being a late game option i think it also
6891s just makes max even more consolidated on
6894s staying on tier 4 in other strategies
6896s which is something they already want to
6897s do and i think that war gear also you
6900s know any magnetic indirectly buffs
6903s heroes like sarfang and vuljin that can
6906s stack buffs onto minions that are
6908s already existing because they can buff
6910s essentially minions in the shop as well
6912s very very cool stuff i am happy that
6914s we're also seeing so many resurgence of
6916s like
6917s standard cards kind of seeing use in
6920s battlegrounds as well and i'm
6922s always looking out for the different
6924s ways that the cards can interact in two
6926s different game modes really happy about
6928s that one so uh that's our third reveal
6931s of the day collins we only have one more
6933s uh i already feel like warrior is going
6935s to be my favorite just because i'm such
6937s a big fan of that card from back in the
6939s magnetic days in standard but we are
6941s through to the game now looking at good
6944s dumbest choices this is the first barrow
6945s we've seen in a long time but i am
6947s definitely eyeing that
6949s yeah bear definitely has is it's been
6951s seen as pretty risky generally but i do
6954s think it's playable the other one would
6955s be mutinous here just taking a look at
6957s some of the other choices there is a
6959s zarella or pyramid for gohan there's
6961s also a reform i i wouldn't mind the
6964s pyramid here i think pretty much is
6965s pretty safe uh only actually on the
6967s zephyrus which seems pretty good god
6969s dammit on the scabs took the scabs of
6971s the yog or the queen ashara so that that
6975s also makes sense i think scabs is really
6976s really good there's another shutter
6978s player as well
6979s yep shutter alert sound the alarm
6983s and this is actually yeah this is an
6985s insane shutter lobby too right naxarin
6988s pirates are in
6990s the pirates around okay so there is a
6992s bit of a downside but nagisaran and
6994s biser and which is still pretty good for
6995s shredder so should be happy
6997s yeah as long as you get beast and one of
7000s either naga or pirate i feel like that
7002s justifies um
7004s a shutter pick for sure it is mutinous
7008s picked by goddammit here over lord barov
7010s though not interested in taking a more
7012s risky line which is fair
7014s he's not in a position where he's
7016s already in check and needs a first place
7018s right it's still about the points
7020s accumulation for the vast majority of
7022s our players
7024s yeah i i do think bear off is just like
7026s very very risky it does get better with
7029s the better like the better the players
7032s are and these are very skilled players
7033s so bravo is usually pretty good but even
7036s then all it takes is like one bad bet a
7038s couple of bad fights and now you're
7040s feeling pressure now you can't level the
7042s five now you just have to kind of stay
7043s and salvage the game so i do think
7046s mutinous uh is generally safe especially
7050s with nagisarin you can always eat the
7051s spellcraft buffs so don't mind the
7054s musicness pick here the picks i do mind
7057s though would probably be the uh
7059s uh the lyra on the syndragosa i'm not a
7061s big fan of that and also the um
7065s what's the fourth million nostromo right
7068s yeah those two aren't like super super
7070s pretty yeah the fifth minion i think
7071s that's nice

7074s yeah uh we did have a bit of a camera
7076s error apologies for that it's actually
7077s waterloo on the mutinous and we have
7079s goddammit scabs and so contextualizing
7083s this for a waterloo is even more
7085s interesting i would say because i feel
7086s barrow has more potential to go first
7088s place than mutanus and the first as we
7090s know for waterloo would get him into
7092s check position but he is not aiming for
7094s strictly check right now i think he just
7096s wants to make sure that within the next
7098s two lobbies you can for sure get
7101s the
7102s lobby in check which makes a lot of
7103s sense because varov also has a lot of
7105s potential to go eighth place yeah
7108s because the the thing is if you take
7109s bravo you're eight now you're just in
7111s the same position you were about but
7113s like significantly behind because other
7115s people are ahead where you take the
7116s mutants maybe you get third but it means
7119s that all you need is a sixth or fifth
7121s even to get in check and then you're
7122s feeling a lot more comfortable so with
7124s that contextualization i think it makes
7126s even more sense to skip the bear off
7128s here just too risky in the position
7130s while losing
7132s so over on caramel's perspective hasn't
7134s hit an alley cat just yet but has the
7136s double
7137s shell collector start not too bad
7139s the decision to buy a mini myrmadon on
7143s turn one this is something that i've
7145s heard many conflicting opinions about i
7147s believe it was chief i tuned into
7149s recently their stream and he was talking
7151s about how on shudder sometimes he would
7154s rather roll role than hero power if he
7156s doesn't find a good battle cry to buy on
7158s turn one thoughts on this well
7161s it's because he really wants to force
7163s the
7164s um
7166s the shutter hyrule right some players
7168s don't
7169s care as much as hyrule you can see like
7171s only in the last game didn't really feel
7174s like he cared too much the hyrule he
7176s just went for the single five and he was
7178s okay with that uh where some people like
7180s they want the hyrule they don't want
7183s anything else nothing else matters with
7185s the hyrule so they'll roll roll roll
7187s roll roll it down 10 10 turns until they
7189s get and then they'll pop off so uh the
7192s players that do buy the three foot the
7194s three three usually are the ones that
7196s don't mind they just want to mitigate
7197s health and as long as they get maybe one
7199s triple they're fine with it where some
7201s players want like two triple three
7203s triples four triples and they'll just
7205s roll it down until they get it so
7207s it's just more of a priority pick than
7209s necessarily what's correct i am
7211s personally i will say i'm more of the
7213s high roller you know so i i respect it
7215s but i i probably would just buy
7217s something on turn one even if

7715s you're just going to go a bunch of nagas

8088s secret was which is very unfortunate

8094s redemption here which is you know still
8096s something that you can do with the
8098s deflecto and khadgar but obviously the
8099s new ones won't have this much attack and
8101s he's facing shutters so i think kid
8103s knows that this is the end
8106s at least of this game so far it's really
8108s not been his lobby he's been trailing
8110s everybody else i think he had an eighth
8112s and then a joint seventh eighth uh which
8115s is pretty sad to see because um kid's
8118s been one of the more consistent
8120s performers over in the chinese
8121s qualification scene and in previous
8123s lobby legends results uh according to
8125s our info from vantage
8128s yeah i it i do think uh the poison
8132s secret which does it does interact with
8135s khadgar so i don't mind that uh just
8137s running it and getting double poison but
8139s it's not like premium right you'd rather
8142s have the
8143s uh
8144s the splitting image instead but
8147s if you don't get that sometimes you just
8148s say oh it's fine he didn't miss on a
8151s glow scale here right yeah yeah caravan
8153s just floating a bunch of spellcraft and
8156s it doesn't matter

8160s unlikely i mean these derives are just
8162s so small to take down the deflectors
8166s so

8168s or leroy is the reason why
8170s you see a lot of people not playing
8172s tantra deflectors anymore it's kind of
8174s lost popularity just due to the fact
8177s that there's such a heavy counter to
8179s this exact composition you buy a leroy
8181s it goes into your deflector boom your
8183s whole comp is done
8184s so you just don't see as as much as you
8187s used to this used to be a very
8189s popular cheese
8191s composition composition
8193s also fell off for the same reason right
8194s yeah the line of divine shields at the
8197s front
8198s um leroy warping the meta in so many
8200s different ways waterloo here takes the
8202s victory against dappy on the nos but
8205s tapi survives probably has the ghost
8207s fight this turn um and waterloo has to
8211s proceed versus oleash on zephyrus which
8213s it's been a while since we checked in on
8215s him i think he had the baby crush
8217s yeah three people died this turn right
8220s so
8220s that's gotta feel
8222s really bad for all three of them right
8224s just getting knocked out at the same
8225s time so yeah they'll each get one point
8228s with that three-way tie

8231s dumber's board was particularly decent i
8233s think he had a good murloc scam but i i
8236s just think a lot of other players were
8238s playing like beasts or playing
8240s uh deflectos and it just wasn't good
8243s enough to deal with the murloc so that's
8244s like the big counter to murlocs if
8246s people if biserin if mexican people can
8249s just play big beast big mechs and deal
8251s with that poison that you're generating
8254s with the seven
8255s this doesn't interact particularly well
8257s against all these token generating types
8260s of comps which is unfortunate because
8262s dammit seemed like he was maybe the one
8265s player that had a chance against caramon
8267s who was playing more for single uh
8270s singular high-status minions instead of
8272s the death rattle stuff uh
8275s more waterloo though option to triple
8277s the deflecto which you know is
8279s oftentimes a bit but because one of the
8281s deflectors is kind of small it's
8283s probably worth taking it right yeah i
8285s think it's fine here because your
8287s deflectors aren't super big so you're
8288s not losing too much here he might do it
8290s and get a six maybe oh but okay now now
8293s that i didn't see he had the macro on
8295s this on this board i think with double
8297s reborn on your macros now it's now it
8299s doesn't make sense so
8301s i didn't see the menace with the minutes
8303s i wouldn't do it because you'd rather
8305s have two deflectors with minutes on both
8306s of them than one with but before that i
8309s it just looked like he just had
8311s uh one menace so it wasn't as good
8315s makes sense
8316s a little bit weird to see the sewer rat
8319s taunted and with reborn because that if
8321s you have two divine shields in front
8323s you're never gonna get value from the
8325s reborn oh he just uh he just did that
8328s for economy because he wanted to pair
8330s his units and it's the only target it's
8333s he was he was looking to maybe triple
8335s and get a croc or maybe a gas crawler
8338s preferably but
8340s if you can i mean you just put on
8342s whatever you have on the board
8344s fair enough yeah he probably just bought
8346s the snake to eat it more so than for the
8348s battlecry value

8369s herman's board now you can see he sold

8372s uh just just said i don't want a skill
8375s i'm only going to scale with the feldman
8377s i think that's
8378s a pretty interesting decision i think he
8381s could have
8382s committed to the assistance but just
8384s decided uh i'd rather just have double
8387s mythic doubly right that's
8389s that makes more sense for me
8391s yeah i think it's also a bit um
8394s combat dependent like which opponent
8396s you're facing
8397s because the atheist if you have some of
8400s the really good spell crafts obviously
8402s it's good to keep it around like the
8403s glow scale um but without that maybe he
8406s just kind of needed space to cycle some
8408s other battle cries
8410s and ended up on the myth roxas instead
8412s for for sure now though because the
8415s our poison player got dumbed has been
8416s knocked out just going for the fel bat
8418s scaling seems good enough to win the
8420s lobby
8421s yeah if you look at everyone's minion
8423s types you're going to see no one's
8424s running murloc so
8425s that just gives you the green flag of
8427s stats or king right now because no one
8429s else is really contesting you so yeah
8431s you can see for the
8433s shutter walk triple the glow skills so
8435s now his divine show on potentially
8437s everything found another
8439s fell about if he wants to continue
8440s scaling that right so the thing about
8442s felbat is you actually just need three
8445s demons you don't actually want more than
8447s three because if you run double felbat
8449s in three units they'll they'll eat all
8450s six units in the shop so you'll just
8452s have a perfect way if you start running
8455s four demons or five demons then you have
8457s one one demony two one eat one and the
8460s buffs aren't consolidated then you'd
8462s rather have that especially if you're
8463s playing uh just for stats
8467s makes a lot of sense uh we can see that
8469s uh caramon's also spent a lot of time
8471s accumulating selfless and barren hasn't
8474s hit the triple on self-list yet but
8476s you can be sure that when he hits that
8478s that's the final cherry on top of his
8480s comp making sure that nothing can really
8482s contest those poisons however against
8485s the tokeny type um board states i don't
8488s know if selfless baron is the way to go
8490s but he doesn't have to worry about that
8492s at the moment for now we have oleash
8494s versus daffy duppy with the wind fury
8497s huge hydra can get a lot of work done
8500s here
8501s oh that's actually not a good hit for
8503s dalpy there um i really wanted to hit
8506s something else uh there's definitely a
8508s way to lose oh yes just like
8511s doesn't have the best setup but just has
8514s enough of a scam to get away with this
8516s so really just uh
8519s getting pretty lucky on his hips i think

8522s underestimate the baby crush especially
8524s if there are tokens on the other side
8526s like sometimes
8528s the gas coiler on the other side becomes
8530s a liability if there's a crush because
8532s it can just keep spawning these 16 16s

8540s than anything i think this card does too

8686s found a golden bear before he found
8688s golden selfless because either of those
8690s he would be willing to play alongside
8692s the regular version of the other just to
8694s provide tons of extra shields here

8698s this looks like caramel is going to very

8702s but there is a world where there is a
8704s color of zephyr responds to the roy and
8706s goes in the fell bad and the other gas
8708s coiler doesn't do anything decent but
8710s that world is not this one

8716s through the golden
8718s fell back there i think that's maybe a
8720s little too big for
8723s um only etch to deal with so yeah looks
8726s like kermit's gonna take this victory

8773s at high level when if the right minion
8775s types are in like sugar is just a a
8778s monster of menace to society and
8781s everything it's just really not
8783s a fun experience because you're like oh
8785s i'm fighting each other i guess i'm
8786s taking 15 ooh
8789s what is it the 15 damage is out oh i
8791s guess i'm dead right and and there
8793s doesn't really feel like there's a lot
8795s of counterplay to that but at least uh
8797s it was executed properly cordon code
8800s right he did miss
8801s or he didn't uh
8803s he didn't do all of his actions in that
8805s one turn that was very critical so he
8807s took it extra like 12 damage but you can
8810s see from that
8811s point onwards he didn't take a single
8813s damage afterwards so it's just the power
8817s of shutter walk with the right lobbies
8818s you just get so many triples you get so
8820s many sixes you have so much economy and
8822s no one can really outpace you so
8825s a pretty scary hero when the
8828s when the minion types are correct there
8831s and i have had my phil callings no i
8834s will never ask for shutter walk again
8836s for the rest of the day i'm glad that
8838s this happened that this was um not
8841s during check just yet but it is of
8844s course seven points added to karamon's
8847s total a huge difference maker he
8849s probably leap frogs some other players
8852s here that being said like olyash was
8854s another one that was closest in
8856s contention before this game to dapi and
8859s waterloo and he also finished second so
8861s we could have a large concentration
8864s towards the top now of players very
8866s closely together bunched in points but
8868s uh
8869s not much is changing for the bottom half
8871s of the players i feel um continuing to
8874s hit a bad streak unfortunately but again
8877s this is the check format just because we
8880s played three games in a day doesn't mean
8881s that you have to be top four and you're
8884s uh and if not you're out there's still
8886s time to get to your 20 point bonus as
8888s long as nobody's got the lobby in check
8890s and as long as the person who has lobby
8892s in check hasn't gotten a first place
8894s there is still hope
8897s yeah it's it's not really over for
8898s anyone because
8901s any
8903s any player can win
8904s like from this point as long as they get
8907s first for the rest of the the series
8909s they win like and that that's every
8911s single player here if if they just get
8914s first for the rest of the series they

8944s player can still recover so no one's
8947s really out yes there's going to be some
8949s favorites right you you'd probably look
8951s at the people at the top of the world
8952s the top of the leaderboards they've been
8954s doing well they've been consistent
8955s they're they're very likely to continue
8957s doing well very likely to continue being
8960s consistent but it's not over for anyone
8964s they can all still win and they just
8966s need to you know have a little bit of

9684s lot of cool uh strategies there not
9686s nothing too crazy not not too many like
9688s know me gamers i want to see a nomi game
9690s personally but we have we have a like a
9693s lot of good stuff pirates is also really
9695s fun to watch and we've had that already
9697s too so just uh know me on my checklist
9699s needs to get that and we're good
9702s i guess there's still one more thing on
9703s everybody else's checklist though

9709s remains to be seen our last card that is

9797s pretty powerful but i do think this will
9799s be played obviously the later
9802s in the game it's gonna drop off but yeah

9807s particular beasts and the fact that you
9809s can target minions in bob's tavern
9811s meaning that there's a hydra in the shop
9813s let's say you have a mama bear on board
9814s you turn it into a 15 15 in the shop and
9816s then you buy it it gets another plus
9818s five plus five that is pretty intense
9820s and you mentioned jaundice as well
9821s probably going to be a great minion for
9824s that hero in particular and i'm sure
9826s there's a lot of synergy we're also not
9827s thinking about but this is so cool
9830s another thing that jumps out to me is uh
9833s it opens up like
9836s uh baron protection every time right so
9839s right now if crowbars and nages are in
9841s you don't have easy access to
9843s protecting your baron because you have
9845s to go
9846s uh green thumb scaling which you know
9848s you don't want to do that but
9850s now here if you
9852s just go to six
9854s you can put your bearing to 15 15 which
9856s is pretty much going to guarantee that
9858s you can also like now you can make a
9860s buster like non-beast buster a little
9862s bit more consistent because now you can
9864s just protect the bear and protect the
9865s kangaroo so yeah there's actually a lot
9867s of synergy here that's pretty pretty
9870s pretty good
9871s all right so i said i've had my fill of
9873s shutter as we enter this new game but i
9875s was going to ask you is it worth taking

10953s are actually a very risky comp to play

10968s growing leapers we also haven't seen
10970s that many beast lobbies to be fair like

10982s uh people with nagas with when fury can
10984s screw you over there's actually a lot of
10987s counters to leapers these days compared
10989s to maybe before nagas came in uh but
10993s here is a really good leaper lobby

11003s sometimes people will have like a golden
11005s cyclone and that can screw you over so
11008s there's a lot of safety for leapers here

11013s really good lobby for it on top of that

11017s protect your baron from being stopped by
11020s putting blood gems on it so yeah you're

11033s actually been knocked out as well at

11809s get the victory instead of the leaper

11867s he wins a lobby our tournament is over

11874s been very consistent right he doesn't

11877s shoot to a greed or shoot for the first
11880s right but he always loves to like

11884s place guarantee or third place right so

11891s one good game high roll a shutter
11893s basically and and the game's over right

11897s we're only on four lobbies in so it's
11899s been pretty quick but only one in a

11917s waterloo in particular are hot on

11946s player in check and i can't wait to see

11955s when you target players you do it by
11959s making your boards
11961s stronger now but weaker later and when
11964s you're trying to win the lobby you're

11971s mindset i'll just win the game and then
11973s it doesn't matter if i target him or not
11976s but when you all do that and
11979s he gets to do what he wants as well he's
11982s been having better luck with bob he's
11983s been playing better this tournament

11991s mess with him he might just win and then

12375s safe mutinous play and then the master
12377s win which is kind of a hyrule hero but
12380s sometimes you just get like the nuts
12382s i've had a game where i was playing

12388s like what the game's over like i was
12390s like this is not fair so you can have
12392s that happen here too uh big dragons
12394s already you know hero power at the right
12396s period even just george hero power can
12398s be a huge hyrule as well i think master
12401s gwen is an excellent choice um dappy

12408s gold is generally or sorry do you think
12411s eudora tends to finish dig on eight gold
12413s these days they never do it on seven
12415s right because unless you have a giga
12417s economy start you can do it on seven um
12419s it depends on what tier minion you want
12421s so if you do it on seven it means your
12423s hero powering turn one and it also means
12425s that uh you want a four normal normally
12428s people do it on turn six and they get a
12431s five but you can also and this was
12434s really popular popularized in the naga
12437s medi you can actually
12439s stay down a bit and and not hear a power
12441s and then go do it on turn seven and get
12444s a six drop
12445s um okay you wanna high-roll that usually
12447s you'll only do it if naga's run so nagas
12450s aren't in so it's probably not happening
12451s this game but
12453s it is an option if you really really
12455s want to value that kind of triple
12459s i'd like to start from kid here he held
12460s on to the rockpool hunter because you
12462s know he knew he was going to buy another
12464s swamp striker so getting a bit greedy
12466s here just take a little bit of damage so
12468s he can eke out even more buffs on that
12470s second striker freezes for the triple
12472s and has a solid direction as early as

12477s moving over to caramon who's his
12479s opponent on the mutant sorry valera

12484s right the pyramid the vardan and the
12486s going so a lot of people going for the
12488s high road they want to get the first
12490s place so that the
12491s dappy doesn't win here so i like this i

12495s it's not um targeting him in the way of
12498s playing temple but just trying to roll
12500s higher than him which also is a way you
12503s can approach it i suppose

12552s better minion and double bronze warden
12555s like pretty much wins you most fights

12562s there's a lot of players that are
12563s playing heavy tempo so he probably
12565s there's not he's not guaranteed to win
12567s but normally you would be doing really

12571s well early pick of gem splitter without
12573s any shields is of course kind of reliant
12576s on how bob will treat you in the next
12578s fights but i still um favor that pick
12580s here because it can be solid direction
12583s later on and we already see that the
12585s mindset here is not necessarily trying
12587s to out tempo dapi but to roll higher
12590s than him friend yeah only actually also
12593s getting a pair on pyramid
12595s it's like a mirror match in terms of
12598s stats
12599s uh unfortunate though one has nine
12601s attack and one has five so that's gonna
12603s be the difference maker only taking
12604s three though so it's not too bad and he
12607s is in a decent spot uh not the best

15007s what what which ones jump out to me it
15009s would be the ca

15015s yeah it they're the same hero to me i'm
15017s gonna be honest like fair enough i avoid
15020s both of them uh and then we also have
15023s only edge on the tickets right ticketist
15025s has that hyrule potential but also very
15027s very risky and the other heroes maybe
15030s deathwing as well as a little bit uh not
15033s a hyrule hero but the other heroes can
15035s perform well if they get a good start we
15037s already saw oleash on ticket this a
15039s while ago to pretty good results
15041s honestly i've struggled to use this hero
15043s and the current meta after buddies have
15045s gone so i've been happy to see that
15047s olyash is still piloting that to good
15049s results that be starting off with the
15052s double micro mummy star pretty nice to
15054s see especially on vol'jin but he hasn't
15056s hit the absolute best starts of like
15059s public in the shop with the divine
15061s shield um which obviously vulgin can get
15063s a lot of utility out of
15066s yeah you're really essentially in the
15067s early game looking for a blob like
15069s because it has so much better stats than
15070s anything else you can find but even
15073s still vol'jin has a really good uh power
15076s spike especially with nagas and
15077s spellcrafts are pretty much get
15080s permanent stats every time and you can
15083s immediately find a critter
15085s or
15086s that five drop 33 and just swap the
15088s stats with your biggest minion and have
15090s a
15091s really powerful
15093s tempo spike there
15095s interesting turn for doppy did would you
15096s favor um giving the lava lurker a bit
15099s more stats from the
15100s pirate or just buying the pirate itself
15103s in the lava lurker
15105s i probably
15108s oh just level okay
15112s well he's trying to win the lobby right
15114s so he's he's he's not trying the top
15116s four here he's so he's just like i need
15118s a triple and i need it early uh and high
15121s level so he's just like not really
15123s looking for it it's it's one of those
15126s situations where
15129s is this like we're going so risky but
15132s maybe it's better to just get second
15135s like get like top fours and then like
15137s someone else wins the tournament but you
15139s get guaranteed second however
15141s uh you know he's still the first player
15143s in check so he's still doing really well
15144s and he does want to win the lobby right
15146s he doesn't want to
15148s get second place right like do all that
15150s work and then get second place at the
15151s end so happy's been there already he was
15154s in the qualifying stage at lobby legends
15156s one he qualified through to the final
15159s day on lobby legends too and in fact he
15161s put the lobby in track at the same time
15162s as the eventual champion maxwell so i
15165s think doffy is hungry for a true
15167s championship victory this time cannot
15170s blame him whatsoever uh waterloo
15173s absolutely waterloo picked up the
15176s dazzling light spawn as a four drop
15178s triple now normally on milhouse i don't
15181s know if taking four over five is the
15183s general way to go but there's simply no
15185s way his curve worked out cleanly if he
15187s didn't take the four drop and he ended
15188s up with a pretty good one here so i
15190s think this is a very solid line from
15192s waterloo yeah and
15194s uh there aren't that many super great
15196s fives uh i think for
15199s the milhouse there except for nomi like
15200s no me yes uh would be the exception but
15204s even i've i've seen people struggle with
15206s nomia on milhouse right because you do
15208s need the
15210s um
15211s the 5 4 elemental
15213s uh as well so it's not just nomi with
15216s milhouse that can carry you you also
15217s need that 5-4 and also need good rose
15219s afterwards to
15221s feel pretty good about it so
15223s kind of okay with this direction that he
15225s took uh lightspawn is a really powerful
15227s card
15228s uh this early especially with the
15230s acolyte so he should be in a pretty good
15232s spot now

15235s trailing the lobby he's the only player
15236s who doesn't have the capability of
15238s putting everyone in check even if he
15240s takes a first place but clearly not
15242s giving up yet picking the greatest hero

15625s be fine i don't think you want to not be

15630s even if things go bad for you you're
15632s still super healthy especially as this
15634s super healthy milhouse so i really like

15640s dream set up i think for a milhouse here

16349s obviously hit way above the average here

16359s um waterloo yet if he's still pretty
16362s healthy here um meaning that from his
16365s perspective he's probably like the last
16367s hope for everyone here because the other

16610s start of the tournament he's just been
16612s consistent just doing well shooting for
16614s first places uh salvaging from the
16617s second game he had that reno game where
16619s he was like three hp he could have went
16621s eight there salvaged up to a top two i
16623s believe so really well done performances
16626s from him he just had that one uh tabson
16629s game but tams is a really hard hero to
16631s pilot and you need a lot of things to go
16633s right to to make that hero work so can't
16635s even really fault him for that you'd
16637s only fault him for picking the hero in
16639s the first place but other than that
16641s i think he just had a really really good
16642s tournament really knew how to uh squeeze
16645s every value from the heroes that he did
16647s have and just shoot for the moons and
16650s very well done from him there that's
16652s right even though that last game was a
16654s stomp and pretty straightforward i think
16656s it's fair to say we saw plenty of games
16659s from waterloo where he did very much get
16661s to showcase his skill and tough
16662s decision-making um especially on the two
16666s vulgen games that he had over this
16668s weekend especially one of them being
16670s chosen over a shutter walk showcasing
16672s that he's really comfortable playing
16674s heroes that he knows that can be more
16676s consistent for him when the right minion
16678s types are in doing all the tricks in the
16682s arsenal of uh having that huge win fairy
16684s cleave when the naga are in and really
16687s showcasing
16688s why he is such a force on ladder almost
16691s every server you can see waterloo just
16693s at the top there grinding away
16695s constantly battling for first place like
16698s this is a guy who goes toe to toe with
16700s jeep and xqn on a regular basis he is
16703s nothing to be trifled with and i'm
16705s honestly so happy that we get to see him
16708s um in a tournament setting because he's
16710s one of the few top ladder players that
16712s at least that i'm aware of doesn't
16714s stream or at least in a stream language
16716s that i would understand so it's nice to
16718s see the concrete proof of his skill here
16722s yeah i was gonna say like i i really
16724s think this one is very deserved because
16726s if you
16728s compete against him in in ladder or if
16730s you watch it you know watch him play and
16732s things like that you can really just
16734s know how good he is how consistent he is

16739s always does well always times really

16743s just like post his match history
16744s somewhere and it's just like all wins

16774s point total so a very very deserved
16776s second place here waterloo our overall
16779s champion and gohan actually managing a
16782s third place followed by valeera so a
16785s very very strong showing from the
16787s chinese players yeah i was going to say

16792s with you right china is really
16793s dominating this final tournament here
16797s and i think it's kind of poetic as well
16799s because we did hear from venice that
16801s waterloo
16802s even though he's not i think
16803s geographically based in china is very
16805s much entrenched in their scene and he is
16808s one of the players that is responsible
16810s for sort of delivering strategies from
16812s the rest of the world to the chinese
16814s scene because um like last year in hgi
16816s we knew that there was such a stark
16818s difference in the meta from there but
16820s waterloo has really been one of the
16822s pioneers spearheading like the
16824s communication from the different regions
16826s and you can see that the fact that he's
16828s familiar with so many different play
16829s styles and the fact that he spends a lot
16831s of time in the game puts in the effort
16833s and the time has really come to fruition
16836s here very very well deserved winner and
16838s huge congratulations to him yeah i
16840s completely agree with everything you

16843s uh a dominating player always good in
16846s the game so really happy to see him win
