983s	Hearthstone Battlegrounds Lobby Legends
985s	murloc eyes my name is TJ I'm joined by
988s	the one the only Derek Brown who's going
991s	to be casting me over the course of the
992s	action this weekend
994s	Derek A lot of people are not used to
997s	seeing me and you cast Battlegrounds are
1000s	you excited yeah I'm not really sure why
1002s	they would think that because I mean I
1005s	lose exact numbers but I think we're
1006s	like 50k combined MMR between us
1010s	yeah yeah give or take about 45k
1014s	um and as the two best Casters in terms
1017s	of BG's I'm excited to get into the
1019s	action and see these also acceptable
1022s	comparatively uh players uh cost uh
1026s	playing some Battlegrounds as well
1027s	because uh I've been back on the grind
1029s	and I think uh it's very interesting met
1032s	again a lot of different strategies
1033s	working for all of our players one of
1035s	which as you can see from our friends
1038s	down there is uh quite a dominant one
1040s	here in the town happened

1045s	they're supposed to represent like that
1047s	they're murlocs and costumes but I can't
1050s	even I guess it's not uh the leftist
1054s	shutter walk that's shuttle except for
1056s	their sour Fang oh Fang yeah or it could
1059s	be no I think it's sour Frank yeah I
1060s	think you're right to the far right yeah
1062s	and then or wag toggle yeah yeah
1067s	um all right well
1068s	we did it we solved it we can all go
1071s	home uh no um but yes it's a interesting
1074s	meta game a lot of players a lot of
1075s	returning players as well uh
1077s	specifically from the very last Lobby
1079s	Legends we have uh what five players
1081s	that made it to the group stage the last
1083s	live religions competing again this
1085s	should be cool to see uh how they do but
1088s	uh as an overview of the tournament
1089s	works the same as the previous Lobby
1091s	Legends we have uh the top 16 gold
1094s	Battlegrounds players today they're
1096s	gonna play in two eight player lobbies
1098s	with playing three games each the top
1101s	four from each of those lobbies is going
1102s	to advance to tomorrow Pro well they
1105s	will will play in the check format where
1107s	players will earn porn space in their
1109s	placements and then once you reach 20
1111s	points you need to win a game of
1115s	Battlegrounds to become the champion and
1117s	not just the game Bonkers you need to
1119s	win a game of Battlegrounds in the
1120s	tournament there you go Derek uh so you
1123s	can't pick that apart uh to win the
1125s	tournament so pretty exciting
1128s	once we get to Sunday because you never
1130s	know how many uh actual games we're
1132s	gonna get to play it could be player
1135s	earns 20 points in in three games and
1137s	then wins the next one and then boom
1139s	that players crowned the winner we could
1141s	have uh that little or you know as many
1145s	as you know seven six seven players
1147s	making it uh to that check status and
1151s	um before we even Crown a winner could
1153s	get very exciting at the end yeah that's
1155s	right I think tomorrow is where things
1157s	are going to get really really exciting
1159s	with that check format which I just
1161s	really really think adds so much tension
1163s	uh it's still going to be a very good
1165s	day today getting uh settled in learning
1168s	a little bit more about our players
1169s	figuring out the meta game together as
1171s	we go what strats they're going to be
1173s	heading for but like you say uh based on
1175s	the last two Battlegrounds that we've
1176s	had in particular I think we might be in
1178s	for a long one tomorrow as it feels like
1180s	that uh that outcome of just someone
1182s	dominating and taking it first place
1183s	instantly hasn't really been happening
1185s	the last few events with the skills
1187s	level being so high and the difference
1190s	between our competitors so slim but
1193s	speaking of our competitors trying to
1195s	distinguish themselves you too watching
1197s	at home can compete in a way whilst
1200s	watching Battlegrounds as with the the
1203s	relatively new Tavern body that we have
1205s	here there's a lot of fun sort of mini
1207s	games guessing competition that you can
1210s	join in with at home
1212s	that's right if you're watching on
1213s	Twitch you can participate in the tavern
1215s	buddy extension with these four games we
1219s	also have a leaderboard so you know if
1220s	you're earning a lot of points if you're
1222s	doing well in all these little mini
1224s	games for the extension uh then uh you
1227s	can have bragging rights and see
1229s	yourself at the top of the leaderboard
1231s	Derek and I will also be competing we'll
1233s	show show off our picks uh for all of
1236s	these things throughout the day but the
1238s	first one being fantasy team uh so you
1241s	choose your top three players in each
1242s	group which three players you think are
1245s	going to do the best throughout the day
1246s	and you earn points based on their
1248s	placement Derek and I will also be
1250s	revealing who he chose for our fantasy
1252s	teams
1254s	um
1255s	no copycats please choose choose your
1258s	own fantasy team no one's allowed to
1259s	choose the three that Derek and I chose
1261s	you have to choose your own that's not
1262s	true you can choose whoever you want but
1264s	I advise you to not choose choose who
1266s	Derek and I chose
1268s	yeah you may have varying amounts of
1270s	success but there's a lot of different
1272s	uh plays that you could choose from as I
1274s	said I think the skill level is very
1276s	very close but then after you picked
1278s	your fantasy team at the start of the uh
1281s	the broadcast you can also be looking at
1284s	picking your puzzle box options as there
1287s	are a bunch of different criteria as to
1289s	whether or not they will happen a bunch
1291s	of different things that could happen
1292s	over the day and you have to predict
1294s	whether or not they will and I know TJ
1298s	had a very easy time picking it wasn't
1300s	even a question as to if he made the
1303s	right uh picks but for me personally I
1305s	thought they were a good level of
1307s	difficulty but I could see them going
1308s	either way on a lot of them
1310s	yeah it's pretty tough to predict
1313s	especially with how volatile some of the
1314s	questions are again uh we'll reveal the
1316s	questions and you'll be able to see them
1317s	in the extension uh when you bring it up
1321s	uh so
1322s	um the next one is bandwagon uh this
1324s	one's pretty cool this one's gonna
1325s	happen in each game each individual game
1328s	it's called bandwagon you have to guess
1330s	the winner of an individual game based
1333s	on just the first four turns the catch
1336s	here is that the earlier you guess who's
1339s	going to win
1340s	the more potential points you can earn
1343s	so for example if I put in my bandwagon
1348s	pick at the very start of the game so on
1350s	turn one and Derek puts his in on turn
1353s	three but we pick the same person if
1356s	that player wins I would get more points
1358s	than Derek because I picked earlier than
1361s	he did on the bandwagon so a little bit
1364s	of risk reward going on with that game
1366s	just because you know you have almost no
1370s	information you can base it off their
1371s	hero choice at the beginning of the game
1373s	uh oh this person obviously got the best
1375s	hero I'm gonna guess this person but a
1377s	lot of things can happen in those first
1378s	few turns so uh be wary with your
1382s	bandwagon pick
1383s	and then finally once per game as well
1386s	subtle our spectator for this event is
1389s	going to hand pick an especially
1391s	interesting looking match-up between two
1394s	players during the shop phase and we're
1397s	gonna see them both up on the screen at
1399s	the same time you're going to pick which
1400s	one you think is most likely to win and
1402s	then you get points depending on whether
1404s	you guessed correctly or not which as I
1408s	was saying just a little bit earlier uh
1410s	I can't do in-game with uh when I'm
1413s	playing bear up so I don't particularly
1415s	like my chances of doing it during the
1417s	tournament but who knows maybe when I
1419s	can actually see both players it might
1421s	be a touch easier than having to go off
1423s	the uh the slew thing that you do in
1425s	game
1426s	yeah and uh I didn't mention it earlier
1428s	but subtle
1430s	incredible
1431s	great guy uh you may know him is going
1433s	to be our shot caller our uh spectator
1436s	uh over the course of the weekend so
1438s	he'll be uh driving us through the
1441s	action he'll be the one choosing the
1442s	barrels blessing so we have to uh hope
1446s	and have faith in our good pal subtle
1449s	that he's going to give us some good
1450s	ones some difficult ones actually you
1452s	know what let's hope that subtle gives
1454s	us some easy ones
1455s	sharing the joy of earning points with
1458s	the tavern buddy extension there we go
1461s	yeah I think actually we should just
1462s	simplify the whole thing next Lobby
1464s	Legends just going to be a button that
1465s	says click four points and you just
1467s	click it and you get some points and
1470s	everyone's happy yeah we need to add a
1472s	fifth game to this graphic it's just
1475s	called the this game is called three
1477s	points
1478s	well uh speaking of points what our
1480s	players are going to be fighting for
1481s	within the lobby Legends is of course
1484s	very different from what you're playing
1485s	for at home which is just for fun uh and
1487s	for bragging rights here are players in
1490s	each Lobby are fighting for as many
1491s	points as possible seven for a win zero
1494s	for eighth place and then obviously one
1496s	more point for every place better that
1499s	you finish and after the first three
1501s	games in each of these groups as we
1503s	mentioned earlier our players are gonna
1505s	be uh the number of players are going to
1506s	be split in half top four from each
1508s	group go on to fight out for tomorrow
1509s	and then within that top eight they are
1512s	going to be fighting for 2 000 up to ten
1514s	thousand dollars with our unfortunate
1516s	bottom half of the players only walking
1518s	away with
1520s	1250 but a nice distribution as I've
1523s	said a couple times before I think it's
1524s	a nice flat spread of prize money than a
1527s	little bit of jump up at the top in two
1529s	and a half Grand to get us up to ten
1531s	thousand dollars for our first place
1533s	winner who should be rewarded for their
1535s	bravery in uh actually having won a game
1538s	of Battlegrounds to become our winner
1540s	yeah and you know just by qualifying to
1542s	this phase of Lobby Legends oh yeah uh
1545s	you still go away with 1 250 so even if
1548s	you uh
1550s	get knocked out before the group stage
1552s	if you don't make it into the final day
1553s	we still go away with some money so all
1555s	right here's the puzzle box questions
1557s	and I believe that Paul's box questions
1558s	are going to be opened up right now
1561s	um or they may have already even been
1563s	opened uh but we're just going to
1565s	highlight what Derek and I chose for our
1567s	uh puzzle box answers first one will a
1569s	game go longer than 18 turns I said no
1572s	um I feel like we're gonna get some high
1574s	Tempo uh games going on today uh very
1577s	little of those you know murloc lobbies
1580s	where they're just poisonous Divine
1581s	shield and uh tying for a million turns
1584s	at the very end of the lobby I don't
1585s	think we're gonna get those so I'm gonna
1586s	say no
1587s	yeah I I feel you and I know that with
1589s	the change to uh Divine Shields and
1592s	murlocs
1593s	um
1594s	being a little bit less likely to happen
1595s	now I still believe that with six games
1598s	haven't been played today 18 turns is
1600s	not that much of a freak out lie so I
1602s	think at least once we're gonna get a
1604s	game going to 18 turns but again like I
1606s	say this is a tough choice right out the
1608s	gate
1610s	and next one will a player win a game
1611s	with wisdom ball so I went with the ball
1614s	choice of yes now I almost completely
1617s	disagree with my choice I think it's
1619s	very important that we see a player win
1621s	a game with wisdom ball it's just
1622s	statistics right first a player has to
1625s	be offered wisdom ball all right but
1626s	that's not that's not terribly unlikely
1628s	but then second the player has to
1631s	actually choose wisdom ball as their
1634s	quest uh so we're getting even more
1636s	unlikely and then three that player who
1639s	chose wisdom ball actually has to win
1640s	though
1643s	um I'm saying yes just because I have
1645s	been I love wisdom ball uh it's every
1650s	time you hit that refresh button and I
1651s	hit it a lot you rub your hands together
1654s	you get a little bit excited for what's
1656s	around the corner so you know I'm gonna
1659s	say yes
1660s	I mean I agree with everything that TJ
1662s	just said but I'm gonna make the uh bold
1665s	call of taking the The Logical end point
1668s	of those arguments and actually they're
1670s	agreeing with the conclusion that they
1672s	suggest there Fair Point can't argue
1675s	with that
1676s	all right next well all six games have a
1678s	different winner
1680s	um I said no uh I I I think that we'll
1683s	have a player uh repeat
1686s	um uh in a game today so that was that
1689s	was a pretty easy one for me
1691s	yeah I I think for me it's more just the
1694s	way that people will play
1697s	after they get a win like the player who
1698s	wins the first Lobby they don't really
1700s	need to go for a win again anymore I
1702s	think their playstyle is going to shift
1703s	over to much more defensive and just
1706s	trying to get a decent couple of
1707s	finishes and not get an eighth place and
1709s	then you should be almost guaranteed so
1711s	I'm feeling good on that one all six
1713s	Heroes uh all six winners using a
1715s	different hero I think you and I are in
1717s	agreeance here there's just two uh too
1719s	many uh oh sorry no uh yeah eventually
1722s	someone will win with a different hero
1723s	also not taking the logical conclusion
1725s	there as uh some of them uh there's a
1728s	few that are so much more powerful than
1730s	the others will a game go at least 10
1732s	times without an elimination uh I think
1734s	so again yeah uh I don't think players
1737s	are playing that high tempo
1739s	all right and then the last one will
1740s	player win a game with less than four
1742s	health
1743s	that's just a toss-up right yeah I don't
1745s	know man you said nil just flip a coin
1747s	pick what you want uh those are the
1749s	puzzle box get your puzzle box answers
1750s	and now uh on the twitch extension and
1753s	uh yeah well we're gonna check in uh at
1756s	the end with how Derek and I are doing
1758s	after day one and then after day two uh
1760s	with all these games so uh I hope I win
1763s	I hope I get points imagine and imagine
1767s	I'm assuming this is so free I don't
1769s	even think that's possible I would be
1771s	impressive let's go through the uh the
1773s	groups the players that we're gonna be
1774s	seeing compete today this is a group a
1777s	we have current Echo rupetiti yellow
1779s	satellite Matsuri yanase eastleaf and
1782s	sword uh so entirely representative of
1786s	uh uh Asia which is pretty cool a lot of
1789s	the players that made it into this phase
1791s	from the qualifiers
1792s	um uh you mentioned earlier in rehearsal
1796s	uh and then I looked it up and I was
1797s	like wow that was a lot more than I
1798s	thought a lot of Japanese representation
1800s	across both groups throughout the
1803s	weekend which is very cool to see yeah I
1806s	think six out of 16 players represented
1808s	from Japan and 12 out of 16 either APAC
1811s	or China which is uh you know surprising
1815s	to see but in a way we are seeing the
1817s	Japan in particular has been a stool war
1819s	of uh or a Mainstay of her competitive
1823s	battlegrounds for a long time now and so
1825s	unsurprising to see them continue their
1827s	dominance for my fantasy team for group
1829s	a I was taking bennage's uh claims to
1834s	heart he is our kind of correspondent
1836s	for the Chinese region singing East
1838s	leaves praise is pretty unanimously
1840s	agreed with one of the best
1841s	Battlegrounds player from China sword as
1844s	well just one of the old school players
1846s	from their huge following and I believe
1849s	in his prowess satellite as well I just
1851s	had to pick for uh
1853s	is a long-standing uh appreciation and
1857s	uh
1858s	uh giving us some insight into the
1860s	Japanese scene throughout constructed
1861s	ambassadors
1863s	yeah I went with uh East Leaf as well
1865s	obviously pretty dominant domestically
1868s	but
1869s	um it really hasn't done much in in the
1871s	the lobby Legend circuit so looking to
1874s	see if uh he's going to be able to
1875s	translate that success Matt Surrey
1876s	coming off a second place from waddle
1877s	Legend six uh really impressed me in the
1880s	last one so I feel like I had to go with
1882s	monseria and then current Echo is kind
1883s	of my uh Dark Horse pick uh first time
1885s	being on like the broadcast uh stage of
1889s	uh Battleground sloppy Legends uh but I
1891s	have faith him used to be a constructive
1892s	player back in the day too one of the
1894s	ogs so
1896s	um very cool to see and we're just we're
1898s	jumping in we're going in we barely even
1901s	came back to us I saw my face for like a
1903s	Split Second
1904s	that's all we need TJ all right more
1906s	than enough we got sir to nathrius
1909s	um in in this first one
1911s	so
1913s	big fan yep and auto pick
1916s	yeah oh Mill House ooh shutter walk it's
1920s	on it's on brand for shutter walk no
1923s	Mill houses
1924s	uh pretty easy Choice got a Silas
1929s	Lord goes with cyrilla and then okay
1932s	alak here for MSA interesting to see you
1936s	know contrary to what we're kind of
1937s	expecting coming into this tournament or
1938s	at least what seems to be the dominant
1940s	uh strategy in The Meta game is a lot of
1943s	low armor Heroes which in case you're
1946s	unaware with the addition of quests
1949s	recently uh higher armor team more armor
1952s	so therefore you know weaker hero of
1954s	quote unquote gives you easier quests to
1956s	complete which is such a key part of
1959s	this meta game and something we'll be
1960s	keeping an eye on consistently speaking
1963s	of quest though the king of them himself
1965s	dinathrius with a couple of rough ones
1968s	here not gonna lie yeah Snicker snacks
1971s	pretty good but
1973s	10 refreshes no I didn't see that's
1976s	going to be a long time uh Battle Cry is
1978s	fine has a Battleground meeting in the
1980s	shop right away
1982s	um so is able to get that rolling
1985s	um but let's see uh no Bees Max not our
1988s	cool bar okay
1991s	yeah it's a few of those key battle
1992s	cries at the start going right with the
1994s	shell collector the uh
1997s	alley car as well
1999s	yep
2001s	yeah right away just saying these
2003s	minions ain't even coming close to doing
2005s	it let's just start leveling up and then
2007s	with the the free refresh you've gained
2009s	from the uh
2010s	refreshing Elemental helping you along
2013s	the way as well
2023s	just looking at yanase here just a
2025s	settlemental on board so we have
2027s	Elementals we have Pirates
2030s	murlocs demons dragons
2038s	I'm curious to see uh where players are
2040s	going to end up
2041s	um I'm also curious to see how rupertiti
2044s	is opening here okay has Tavern Tipper
2046s	and some early dragons
2047s	uh to kick things off and uh well coming
2052s	up on the the question in a few turns
2056s	here and I think that's going to be big
2058s	to see how players are are going to
2059s	maneuver around that Quest here and one
2060s	of the things I found interesting uh in
2062s	the previous Lobby Legends was
2064s	um how players played around going into
2066s	the quest turn right we saw a lot of
2068s	players uh just play completely standard
2071s	uh not really focus on what they were
2073s	going to be doing with the quest and
2074s	then a couple players hold back and be
2076s	really greedy right
2078s	um tank some early damage
2081s	and just hold on to a bunch of minions
2083s	in hand
2084s	to make sure that they got a head start
2087s	on their Quest and absolutely like the
2089s	metagame was shifting more towards
2091s	especially as a tournament went on just
2093s	going for high Tempo easy to complete
2095s	quests and going for early quest
2097s	completion to try and ride that power
2099s	level specifically in in these uh games
2102s	right because the goal is just to get
2105s	top Force just to move on to day two
2107s	exactly so you're you're really not
2110s	trying to go for wins you're just trying
2111s	to make sure that you're in that top
2113s	path consistently and that plays more
2115s	towards these Temple quests
2117s	and I think here we can see for uh who
2121s	was it on cookie yellow on cookie as
2123s	well holding back on minions in hand
2125s	because it didn't really look like he
2126s	was going to be able to win the fight
2127s	anyway so like you say just hold them on
2130s	tanks and damage and hope to get a quest
2132s	that says play Demons play Elementals
2134s	summon minions something like that as we
2138s	can see first look at the quests here
2139s	talking about those uh just High Tempo
2143s	quests Smoking Gun are we tempted by
2145s	that here ah it just got nerfed and I I
2148s	really like Snicker snacks with brand
2149s	okay um okay because the sticker sacks
2152s	actually does work with
2154s	um with a brand on board so it'll
2156s	trigger the it'll actually trigger the
2157s	battle Christ twice and loser tie two
2160s	combats is a pretty fast Quest
2163s	completion right you just Tinker it
2166s	um tiny henchman
2168s	20 friendly minions died not a big fan
2170s	especially since
2172s	um a lot of the uh death rattle you know
2176s	uh summon minions uh tribes are out
2179s	right uh no beasts no mechs so where's
2183s	the ball
2185s	summon 15 minions okay we can make that
2188s	work oh he did
2191s	it I mean you put it great uh earlier on
2193s	today right the uh the hardest part of
2195s	winning with wisdom ball is dragging
2197s	your mouse over to it and actually
2198s	clicking wisdom ball if you can do that
2201s	then you'll laughing from there on as a
2204s	sword isn't giving us what he wants here
2206s	well giving me what I want at least
2208s	because I didn't vote for wisdom ball
2210s	going for the win instead taking cooked
2212s	books instead I think for just a uh
2214s	uh hopefully a slightly higher Tempo
2217s	Quest once it gets going
2218s	yep
2222s	all right
2225s	sorry just going all in oh my God the
2229s	battle cries uh what was the uh
2233s	oh it was it was the loser or tie two
2235s	combats so just kind of putting enough
2237s	stuff out there to make sure uh that
2240s	it's a loss or a tie but to try and
2242s	minimize the amount of damage taken so
2244s	my I I picked really late
2246s	um I picked at the very last second uh
2249s	for my bandwagon pick but I picked not
2250s	sorry just because I love the uh brand
2253s	uh Snicker snacks
2255s	um interaction uh the hard part is like
2257s	you know
2259s	finding the right value from the battle
2262s	cries that you're getting from Snicker
2264s	snacks but we do have uh murlocs in the
2267s	lobby right so uh yeah a lot of strong
2269s	uh battle cries each and every turn
2272s	um
2273s	so I think that uh Matsuri could be in a
2277s	strong spot but obviously going to be in
2279s	a
2281s	pretty tough position to get there like
2283s	if you get a primal fin Lookout on your
2285s	board with a brand after sticker snacks
2287s	is complete you're just you just gets
2289s	pammed with murlocs
2294s	quite hard to pass through this because
2296s	like you say you really want to lose
2297s	another fight here but the board is just
2299s	telling you to win you're getting such
2301s	powerful outcomes here uh turn after
2304s	turn it's crazy
2309s	I guess you just buy the picky eater and
2311s	you can let it sit in hand for a turn
2313s	level up like you just take one massive
2316s	hit of probably 10 or more damage and
2319s	then next turn I think you can
2320s	realistically look at start stabilizing
2322s	very very hard
2324s	yeah and I think okay for sure yeah yeah
2328s	yeah because you're still going to lose
2329s	it's just a 2-2 oh yeah I guess if
2331s	you're against Milhouse as well yeah
2333s	yeah so
2335s	yeah Root TV on the Milhouse
2337s	uh doing quite well
2340s	yeah high temperature how much Direction
2342s	though yeah yeah
2345s	but that early days that's what Milhouse
2346s	does best you know you just High Tempo

2409s	bit weird and I I'm honestly not really
2413s	even being given anything with a lot of

2603s	is a pretty good Milhouse Lobby right
2604s	you got both Pirates yeah and Elementals
2606s	so a lot of strong uh the economy uh
2610s	cheating the The Mill House dampening
2613s	I don't know what other adjectives can I

2616s	the house down putting Mana ramping
2620s	I'll be Legends murlocised

2627s	ideally to get this uh Primal fin

2633s	just a uh a pretty simple Ellie spam

2687s	still a little slow you know if he goes
2690s	up against any of these stronger players

2696s	kuraneko and let's see really start

3363s	a final meeting here just to try and uh
3365s	you know get these Divine Shields to be
3367s	knocked off especially if you have
3368s	multiple board space you can knock both
3370s	the front Shields off
3372s	yeah exactly I think also trying to make
3373s	it so that if uh the selfless was golden
3377s	it might not necessarily die to a 1-3 as
3379s	well and you could get some of the
3380s	poison minions killed off beforehand but
3383s	clearly not going to be working out as
3385s	uh Gianna say comes away with the
3387s	expected win
3390s	uh but still not knocking me out his
3391s	opponent quite yet so there's still time
3394s	but Matsuri to find those Divine Shields

3797s	synergized but at the most we saw a
3799s	Snicker snacks brand start to the game
3802s	but that wasn't the murloc lobby that
3803s	won uh the murloc player that won which
3805s	is pretty surprising and I think overall
3808s	just uh very well played and the Wonder
3810s	Ball obviously giving him some nice
3812s	picks but Jana say no in the direction
3814s	to headphone right away
3815s	yeah you do want to you know shout out
3818s	current echo in that one because current
3819s	Echo was like what like full demons for
3822s	a long time in that game right and
3824s	realized that that wasn't gonna scale
3826s	against what the lobby was becoming
3828s	dough bailed out went for poison murlocs
3831s	they were small they were so weirdo
3835s	um but again when you're talking about
3837s	just boys and murlocs and you're going
3839s	up against players that are just ramping
3841s	stats with Elementals like repetiti here
3843s	he didn't put in the Leroy in the Manta
3844s	Queen until pretty much like on his last
3847s	few turns so he was able to pray on
3849s	those players Bank on a bunch of ties
3851s	and then finish second after like that
3854s	transition which I think was pretty good
3856s	um so
3858s	we were preak we did pretty well in our
3860s	bandwagon picks I think we both are
3861s	bandwagon picks still got top four with
3863s	matsurium and rupertiti
3866s	um but alas still a very good Lobby in
3871s	terms of points
3873s	for me
3876s	uh less so for me I will say uh all of
3880s	my picks falling down pretty quickly as
3883s	well I don't think I gotta I mean they
3884s	were all bottom four with East Leaf
3887s	sword and satellite all falling down
3890s	I don't think I've got any of the puzzle
3892s	boxes either not a good start but I'm uh
3894s	what's letting you get off to a running
3896s	start I'm right there with you with you
3898s	sleep but I current Echo I'm at sorry
3899s	who both got top four on my fantasy team
3902s	um and I got the puzzle box so
3904s	I'm doing great I'm doing great uh very
3907s	very exciting Lobby though just a very
3909s	exciting game to start things off for
3911s	this Lobby
3913s	um and you know one thing about this we
3917s	talked about a little about it a little
3918s	bit about it earlier though is the the
3921s	really the only goal of this groups it
3923s	doesn't change whether or not you finish
3924s	first in points or whether you finish
3926s	fourth and points it's just about
3928s	getting into that top four right uh and
3931s	you sort of mentioned it earlier with
3932s	how players play once they win or take
3934s	second in a Lobby you gotta saying
3936s	current Echo now have a little bit of
3938s	flexibility with how they play the next
3940s	game they don't necessarily have to go
3941s	for a win they just have to make sure
3943s	that they start earning that sort of
3946s	Middle Ground points right if they get
3947s	fourth or fifth that's good because
3949s	they're so far ahead especially at the
3951s	bottom of the pack now
3953s	uh in point totals that's right yeah
3956s	that's kind of why I was thinking that
3957s	we would likely not have a repeat winner
3960s	today in any of our games because for
3962s	Janice in particular but kuraneko as
3964s	well you just start heading for those
3966s	middle of the pack uh games you just
3967s	start trying to go tempo as much as
3969s	possible you don't need to win you just
3970s	need to get as far as you can which I
3973s	mean hey it's no surprise that in uh a
3976s	game like that the top three players are
3978s	all murloc players as it's a good
3980s	winning strategy and it's also a good
3982s	just Place deeply well strategy just
3984s	don't lose MMR or stay above that
3987s	halfway threshold which our players are
3988s	looking to do so for
3991s	Lobby Legends murlocised all our friends

5266s	with some mechs but the way he had a
5267s	position immediately after deflector
5269s	Bots got two Divine shield resets on it
5271s	because the initial one from the macaw

5274s	somebody in the Max and then uh the
5276s	Sensei at the end then dying and getting
5278s	it again so offering some much needed

9687s	Battlegrounds in general it feels like
9689s	right now managing to hold down insane
9692s	numbers of viewers on his stream often
9693s	with uh no mic no cam obviously either
9696s	just because of his unbelievably high
9699s	level of play permanently rank one on
9701s	the leaderboard and I think a player
9703s	that you and I are obviously both
9704s	expecting good things from here
9707s	but a lot of other Talent here both from
9710s	our returning players uh like sleepy
9712s	Daffy dough and uh senior held as well I
9714s	believe making a first time appearance
9716s	here
9720s	uh yeah at least in the broadcast
9721s	portion uh senior held another one of
9724s	those uh sort of ladder Heroes looking
9729s	to see if you can make it actually to
9731s	the final day we also have two returning
9734s	or three returning players from the
9735s	broadcast stage of the previous Lobby
9739s	Legends of Lobby Legend six and sleepy
9740s	Penguins on an xqn leaping Penguins on
9743s	both made it to the middle day
9746s	um but it didn't really go too well for
9749s	them on the final day with penguins on
9751s	taking bits sleeping taking seven
9753s	so all those players looking for
9756s	um a better performance than last time
9759s	in terms of like actual highest
9762s	placements
9764s	uh doppido is probably
9767s	uh with back-to-back seconds second
9770s	places in uh both Lobby Legends 2 and
9774s	Lobby Legends three probably the one
9776s	with the most consistent results but has
9778s	missed uh the last two uh Lobby Legends
9781s	so looking to kind of continue that
9784s	success at the beginning but there's my
9788s	fantasy team for Group B I have sleepy
9789s	Penguins on and xqn I basically just
9791s	took the three players that had the most
9793s	success in the lobby Legends and called
9796s	it a day

9801s	know it's obvious why we're both picking

9805s	very unafraid of risk uh during the last

9819s	however I do think that eventually that
9822s	style of play has to pay off and I

9837s	fancy and so I had to go with him

11980s	work still having a golden URL is pretty

11987s	much an early game unit

12381s	start off a win here would be a pretty

12384s	because you really got to try hard to
12386s	knock day two if you win the first first

12395s	second Mantic Queen down looking at this
12397s	Leroy as well I think it's pretty smart
12401s	because again you know you have more
12403s	than enough
12404s	demons uh with both the fell bats to get
12408s	uh all the Minions in the tavern eaten
12411s	yeah for justice as I mean it's been a
12415s	pretty simple strategy here for xqn he
12417s	hasn't shifted at any of his minions and
12419s	he has just been turbo cycling with
12421s	theater getting rid of the URL obviously
12424s	uh in favor of just a uh another theater
12427s	and he's just straight up hoping these
12429s	are big enough very simple
12431s	yep
12432s	bet on himself not himself
12436s	and really do it's worth more than a
12438s	refresh so that's pretty cool though uh
12441s	at least ending on the Medina to be able
12442s	to get the Divine Shield
12444s	a lot of those little devices
12446s	oh the Leroy lives
12449s	pretty nice breaks again oh that's a
12452s	terrible value trait though
12455s	oh that's not a good Divine Shield

12499s	honestly I don't think you're keeping up

12503s	don't have enough gold to buy enough
12507s	to be able to match the stats of a
12512s	um uh Sapphire
12514s	uh demon comp that yjmb has right now
12518s	where every single turn each of the
12520s	demons that he has basically gained like
12522s	plus 12 plus 12 in stats your
12525s	alternative option is more Divine
12528s	Shields with a baron Riven there
12530s	or poison
12532s	with a manted queen would be probably
12534s	the best card he could get right Leroy
12537s	is on the edge because it's only ever
12538s	going to be a one for one uh and you
12541s	know how do you position it you just
12542s	take out the
12544s	uh
12548s	uh the void Lord or do you try and get a
12551s	little bit more sneaky with it it's a
12552s	little tough
12555s	he's freezing the board and it's just
12558s	launched the fell back's gonna Dodge oh
12563s	oh all eight eight Munchies I'm sorry
12565s	ten munches there's only no there's two
12569s	felberts

12573s	it's just freezing just for no reason

12579s	I was like oh geez okay good first hit
12581s	for xqn the Leroy not taking down
12584s	anything substantial that's obviously a
12587s	pretty disastrous one though

12617s	actually almost single-handedly took out
12619s	main job because was able to find tunnel
12621s	Blaster faced uh George again three
12624s	turns later
12626s	and hit another tunnel Blaster to be
12627s	able to knock a Divine Shields make sure
12629s	I was on the verge of being really
12630s	powerful I feel
12632s	uh because it was getting a ton of blood
12635s	jams with the gems put her each and
12636s	every turn
12638s	um and sorry to ramp up it just uh ran
12643s	into
12643s	xq1's tunnel Blaster twice barely lost
12647s	in both times so uh pretty insane
12651s	outcome there but I think xqn had like a
12653s	nice little scrappy mid game to try and
12656s	settle on the theater comp and then went
12658s	for again a sort of this Scrappy
12660s	Menagerie style in the uh the later
12662s	stages so
12664s	ah a fun game much Pace than what we saw
12667s	from the first Lobby where our first
12669s	game started off with just the top five
12672s	players all playing Forza murlocs yeah
12674s	it was kind of the story of lofty
12676s	expectations but most players not really
12679s	reaching them we saw senior held on the
12682s	bazile which is an inherently very
12684s	optimistic hero you know you're hoping
12686s	to just ramp up really quickly in terms
12688s	of levels and hit some powerful Minions
12690s	that didn't work Alucard getting a six
12693s	drop on the onyxia that didn't work uh
12697s	the mirrors on this oh sorry not murazon
12699s	um
12700s	uh why am I blanking on the name upgrade
12702s	the minion with your hero power
12705s	gallacron yes sorry uh gallacron missing
12707s	out on the the combo pieces necessary to
12710s	get Exodia online uh so we're very close
12712s	but no players really trying to uh
12714s	really able to get their ultimate combo
12716s	online and it leads to an interesting
12719s	little breakdown here in terms of the
12722s	points xqn looking in fine form to make
12725s	it through to day two don't want to
12727s	curse it I'm not going to say anything
12728s	too optimistic or too uh pleased about
12731s	it quite yet but a very good start for
12733s	him and for my picks in general with xqn
12736s	and sleepy both getting it done so far
12739s	yeah but I got you beat a little bit
12741s	because you have a la carte as your
12742s	third night once again this is hopeful
12745s	three out of four
12748s	games that we played all my fantasy team
12751s	uh has been in top four so
12754s	I don't know Derek yeah yeah like when
12757s	we reveal the points at the end of the
12758s	broadcast I might have a little bit of
12760s	an edge

12765s	um but you know before we uh leave for a

12800s	where we uh pit two players head to head
12802s	and you have to pick who's gonna come
12804s	out on top
12805s	and uh there's the fantasy picks no
12807s	surprise there to see uh executing an
12809s	Alucard at the top
12811s	uh if you take a look at social media
12812s	those seem to be the players that have
12814s	the biggest followings
12815s	and I I guess sleepy in third as well
12817s	and ygmb
12820s	not many people picking for their
12822s	fantasy team but wins the first game
12829s	yeah pretty spicy stuff and I think just
12832s	overall very well played by ygm be like
12835s	it felt like towards the end there he
12837s	was maybe a little bit unsure on the uh
12840s	the mounted Queen playing how that
12842s	exactly should be done uh but overall I
12845s	just thought it was like a
12846s	a classic combo right the tiger teal
12849s	Sapphire and demons just working so
12852s	nicely together and in a relatively low
12855s	power level uh Lobby overall he was
12857s	maybe a little bit lucky to get first
12859s	place uh but you know that's definitely
12860s	the kind of Lobby uh the kind of board
12862s	sorry that you can expect to finish top
12864s	three with very easily
12866s	yeah that's right
12868s	um but we've reached the point where we

13158s	a little bit more conservative and pick
13159s	like gallacron who's a high Armor Hero
13160s	with uh actually a lot of potential to
13163s	have top placings could go with raw
13165s	power and go for hook tusk
13168s	or could find a nice little middle
13170s	ground with zephyrus
13171s	and the decision is agonizing he can't
13174s	decide yeah it's actually a really tough
13176s	selection I think like the the Dave pick
13180s	is just galachron it's like you know as
13182s	we talk about so often one of these high
13183s	Armory Heroes that's so valuable right
13185s	now uh I am personally a zephyrus
13188s	Believer I do really like playing the
13191s	the hero but I know that's very much
13193s	personal preference rather than
13195s	necessary necessarily high power level
13198s	as the first couple of options are
13200s	presented to penguins and spend 30 gold
13203s	is very very expensive isn't it
13208s	especially with like no Elementals no
13211s	murlocs and no Pirates which means a
13214s	settlemental Tavern Tempest Tad uh
13219s	Primal fin Lookout and of course the
13221s	Gambler as well like all these Minions
13223s	that let you spend gold
13226s	or efficiently uh are out of the game

13237s	it was dead we're gonna see Penguin
13239s	Sound looking for quill balls and mechs
13241s	you know there's some inherent Synergy
13243s	between the two once you hit tap and
13245s	tier three

13252s	senior hold not the best performance in
13254s	uh the first game
13257s	uh for this group but looking to
13261s	I'll change that around Khan is a hero
13263s	that you know middle in performances
13266s	right uh the hero power obviously loses
13269s	uh something else the game goes on
13270s	sometimes uh it can uh
13275s	uh do well but it's real strength lies
13277s	in uh this early game quite often
13281s	because you just get sort of repower
13283s	every turn and you can ride that Tempo
13285s	to be able to do some pretty strong
13286s	things it looks like that's what he's
13288s	going to do with uh stank on one
13292s	okay the double micromy
13295s	I'm liking this play uh with the
13299s	was it sunbake and relaxer and put butt
13301s	in the shop for next turn he can get
13303s	himself the obvious inherent Synergy
13306s	between pop Bond micro mummy to just
13308s	keep buffing that attack up and up and
13309s	up for our cars here it's definitely
13313s	looking like a three on three curve yeah
13315s	as this drop is really not offering him
13318s	much at all but for pyramids you know I
13322s	obviously you don't want to be pressing
13324s	the hero power yet but
13326s	not one of these Heroes that has
13328s	necessarily strong inherent Synergy with
13331s	three on the three uh he's gonna hope
13332s	for a a quick turnaround uh despite the
13336s	fact that actually quite a lot of our
13338s	players are going for this three on
13340s	three Strat right
13342s	yeah I mean if everybody just has sort
13345s	of this handshake moment where there's
13346s	like
13347s	we're all gonna go three on three the
13348s	start game right yep okay nobody takes
13351s	any damage and we just get to accelerate
13353s	oh yeah

13375s	well using the tavern buddy extension

13385s	selection because you get more points
13387s	the earlier you do it but you still have
13388s	time and now you get to see everyone's
13390s	quests
13392s	thrown into the mix as well
13396s	bit of a tough selection here for XK
13398s	actually right as that is a hefty price
13401s	to pay for cookbook

13408s	Indians in types in this aren't like
13410s	super conducive to cookbook right

13416s	uh but it is just early a pretty strong
13419s	one I still haven't picked my bandwagon
13421s	because I'm trying to see uh mirror
13423s	Shield but it's refreshed 10 times which
13426s	is pretty tough and I'm a bribe

13431s	any Synergy with the uh first one uh it
13434s	was just the uh Specter right yeah
13437s	so not really I guess animal bribe kind
13440s	of has Synergy with it because you're
13442s	getting an additional menu each turn

13546s	upgrades uh could have been pretty poor

13555s	was it Battle Cry minion Quest
13557s	um it looks like it's Battle Cry so we
13560s	are going to get a complete this turn
13561s	and is going to be able to
13564s	yeah oh this is pretty nice yeah get two
13567s	nagger as well at the start of your turn
13569s	which only being on tap and tits oh has
13571s	a reasonable shot of tripling for him

13583s	to be quite honest with Critter Wrangler
13586s	like getting a full Reaper and if if he
13590s	can like accelerate with temperature ups

13597s	true Choice from the galcon hero power

13605s	a big deal and very big is pretty strong

13709s	seven beasts or nagas which you know
13712s	he's getting there with the beasts
13715s	kind of but despite having double bird
13716s	buddy here he actually has two beasts uh
13719s	on the board so he's really not getting
13720s	that much value out of it uh but again
13724s	you know you really cannot uh over uh
13726s	underestimate overstate uh the power of
13729s	bird bodies even with just a couple of
13731s	beasts it's so much that

13735s	yeah and it is going to be keeping him
13737s	alive for now yeah that's pretty insane

13744s	on Tavern three without a quest complete

13886s	that Alucard started losing and I think
13889s	as we can see with the tie uh the tie
13892s	here uh the scales might be tipping now
13895s	for senior Herald as he needs to start
13897s	doing something much more impressive

14451s	because it gives some protection against

14455s	like if there's any stray leroys or
14457s	tunnel blasters or anything like that

14462s	decide one minion to buy in the shop but
14464s	I think annoy module just makes the most
14465s	sense
14467s	to be played by itself in this situation
14470s	the solid positioning here for uh for
14473s	yjmb looking quite good
14477s	to be facing off against dopido
14480s	oh he is big isn't he
14484s	can't see that's huge we just saw them

14531s	would be the big one but uh a parrot a

14540s	yeah and funnily enough during the break
14542s	the ring they gave us a a stat here
14545s	about xqn we had mentioned that hadn't
14547s	been to a day two of Lobby Legends
14549s	despite qualifying for them all
14551s	um he said oh it should be in a good
14553s	position with a second place finish in
14556s	the lobby in lobby Legends 4 xq win won
14559s	a game but then came fifth total in the
14562s	group and then Lobby Legends five xq and
14564s	had a second place in a game and came
14567s	sixth so never underestimate the power
14572s	of xqn
14575s	just flop after a good performance early
14578s	on in a group
14580s	oh a triple it's a pretty good triple I
14585s	want to say Obviously you'll

14588s	uh losing another Minion to stick annoya
14590s	module on but I think that's worth it
14593s	right now because again it's gonna get
14594s	the cookbook stats which is going to
14596s	increase your
14598s	immediate board presence substantially
14600s	uh as we see xqn tossing away the baron
14604s	ditching the leapers plan it would look
14606s	like in favor of just you know what I've
14608s	already got a second let's just go Max
14611s	stats here on board try and close out a
14614s	top four guaranteed yeah and this is a a
14618s	strategy that it oh never mind
14620s	that really only cookbook can enable
14623s	right yeah like when you start playing
14625s	leapers it's really hard to just bail

14634s	hit the right pieces along the way and
14636s	uh try and get as high of a finish as

15650s	but it meant that he was very vulnerable
15652s	to someone who kept on scaling later and
15654s	later and for a player who won the first
15656s	Lobby to give yourself guaranteed second
15659s	place I think is just the correct
15661s	strategy right so even though he's
15662s	losing here uh I would not take this as
15665s	a loss at all for yjnb
15668s	yeah if he loses not to put the car in
15672s	front of the horse
15673s	yeah but the tunnel Blaster is really
15676s	the only inclusion which could be pretty
15678s	good to strip off some of these initial
15679s	Divine Shields essentially
15685s	I did sweep up Leroy as well actually
15688s	so that's a pretty uh pretty big deal
15690s	Leroy getting no value fish gets taken
15693s	out before the selfless as well this
15695s	does look a lot different
15700s	but there's still a lot of Health on the
15702s	board for yjmb yeah and there's still
15705s	the fish left so if the selfless is
15707s	sniped then we still might be looking at
15708s	just like this sort of recurring Divine
15711s	Shield battle Yep they're selfless okay
15716s	and if that can hit pashma that's the
15718s	wrong order
15720s	oh it's a Leroy Leroy that's big
15723s	all right so it's a tie at least Libra
15726s	got Divine Shield I think Sleepy's got
15728s	this I think so too yeah yeah the lero

15770s	right that was doing a lot because that
15772s	was the death rattles that was what was
15774s	getting all those uh spell crafts so uh
15776s	very nicely done the stats were enough
15778s	in ygmb though second place that'll
15781s	a lock a an appearance in the final
15785s	Lobby tomorrow that's 13 points which is
15788s	um usually well above the cut off for
15791s	actually qualifying into uh the second
15794s	day so should be very happy about that
15796s	game despite only getting a second
15799s	yeah I agree that feels completely
15800s	unassailable for yjnb at this point a
15804s	few players more towards the middle of
15806s	the pack it could be in a little bit of
15808s	trouble but for xq and YJ and B and
15810s	sleepy in particular that feels like uh
15813s	honestly a pretty safe Trio of players
15816s	to be going through to tomorrow with
15819s	most of the rest of the pack fighting
15821s	out for that one final slot in the top
15824s	four yeah that's kind of what you want
15826s	to see though right you want to see yeah
15828s	if you're in the bottom middle you want
15830s	to see the players that have been doing
15831s	well continue to do well because that
15833s	separates the top and the bottom and
15835s	makes the middle a lot closer
15837s	so I think everybody with how the
15839s	standings have played out we'll look at
15841s	the updated Savings in a moment I think
15843s	that means that nobody's mathematically
15844s	eliminated from actually making it
15847s	um just because of how things shook out
15850s	um but we'll have to see yeah oh yeah
15852s	look at that between fourth and eighth
15854s	it's only a difference of three points

16175s	very specific scenario that would have
16177s	to happen for xq into not making through
16179s	and that fourth and final slot is
16181s	essentially up for grabs right uh which
16184s	makes this very exciting because an
16186s	entire middle to bottom of the pack has
16188s	a chance to actually make it in uh into
16191s	the final day it's gonna be a photo
16192s	finish Derek
16193s	it will indeed uh and like you said all
16197s	execution xqn needs to do in order to
16201s	get through is just not finish eighth
16203s	specifically last place and he will be
16206s	going through and
16208s	we know that that's very uh you know
16211s	it's very likely that he will finish
16212s	anywhere other than eight in addition to
16215s	that he would need both uh what men show
16218s	and Senior hold to finish specifically
16220s	first and second or second and first
16222s	respectively uh but this is xqn we're
16225s	talking about right who does seem to
16227s	have a curse upon his head in lobby
16229s	Legends where every single time he's
16231s	qualified through to lovey Legends he's
16233s	qualified to the on broadcast section
16236s	like they play a little bit off stream
16238s	beforehand to whittle down the players
16240s	down to 16. the last four times he's
16242s	made it onto broadcast but still yet to
16244s	make it through to day two which is
16246s	where it's looking like now he can
16248s	remedy it
16249s	but who knows TJ the curse is pretty

16254s	and as we said the staff from torinda
16256s	earlier
16257s	Legends 4 had a game win and then
16261s	finished fifth in group population's
16264s	five had a second place finish game
16266s	sixth in the group so but this is

16283s	is yjmb who has not had a Lobby Legends

16293s	locking in it's a very impressive play

16300s	um finds ways to scale very quickly in
16305s	games like seize the vision uh very
16307s	quickly
16309s	and then the last game kind of capped
16311s	out but it was impressive enough just to
16313s	get to that point so and here we go

17874s	then you get through very very uh easily

17890s	the way down to Fourth after having uh

17966s	full roster of players to be fighting it

17972s	some real standouts I think right out of
17975s	the gate obviously xqn making his way to
17977s	day two for the first time easily for
17979s	you and I as a prediction for both of us
17981s	from group a I think it's just been
17983s	playing some very strong Battlegrounds
17985s	all around uh but for me I mean I know
17988s	at this point I should probably be
17989s	expecting good stuff from Matsuri given
17993s	the uh their Battlegrounds
17995s	accomplishment and how popular they are
17996s	I do think that Siri was just playing
17998s	some very very nice Battlegrounds
