s | Hello, everyone, |
s | and welcome to Castle Nathria. |
s | You've been called here today because |
s | a terrible crime has been committed. |
s | Gasp! |
s | Yes, yes, it's terrible. |
s | You see, Sire Denathrius has been... |
s | murdered. |
s | Double gasp! |
s | And you are here to solve this crime by playing a little game. |
s | Do we get to roll dice? I'm a pro at rolling dice. |
s | No. No, there's no dice in this game. |
s | Liv, we're playing Hearthstone. There's no dice in Hearthstone. |
s | -Oh. -[dice thud] |
s | Okay, so, here's what we know so far. |
s | Sire Denathrius invited his enemies over as guests |
s | to an elegant soirée at Castle Nathria. |
s | Everything was going really great, when, suddenly, |
s | Sire Denathrius was murdered |
s | and his party turned into a crime scene. |
s | Oh, goodness. |
s | [Cora] So now you are tasked with investigating |
s | and finding out whodunit. |
s | We have a wide array of locations and suspects for you both to investigate. |
s | So, grab your magnifying glass. |
s | Liv, twirl that mustache. And, Val, don't forget to put on your hat. |
s | Ah, but this isn't a deerstalker. |
s | I need a deerstalker cap to summon my inner sleuth. |
s | We don't have time for this. |
s | You have to become detectives and solve this crime. |
s | Okay, Val, you're gonna be up first. |
s | All right. |
s | I choose... |
s | Murloc Holmes to assist in my investigation. |
s | -[thunder crashes] -[Murloc Holmes] Hmm. |
s | [Murloc Holmes jabbers] |
s | [Cora] Ooh, a wise choice. |
s | Okay, you played Murloc Holmes, |
s | and now you need to find three clues. |
s | First, you will investigate |
s | which of these three cards are in your opponent's starting hand. |
s | If you're correct, you'll move on |
s | to which of these three cards are currently in their hand. |
s | If you get both of those right, you're gonna be prompted to guess |
s | which of these three cards is currently in their deck. |
s | If you guess all three correctly, |
s | you will be rewarded for your skills of deduction |
s | with copies of all three cards. |
s | The game is afoot. |
s | Let us adjourn to the Sanguine Depths. |
s | I suspect that is where Sire Denathrius met his untimely demise. |
s | Locations are a new card type that you play into the battlefield. |
s | They have activatable effects. |
s | Using the effect won't cost you any mana, |
s | but they will lose 1 Durability, |
s | and after you use the effect they will go on cooldown for one turn, |
s | so it's really important that you plan out your turns accordingly |
s | to use these locations' effects. |
s | Unlike minions, locations don't have Attack or Health, |
s | so they actually can't be damaged or destroyed |
s | unless a card specifically says so. |
s | I'd like to search for clues. |
s | Ooh, okay. |
s | So, you look around and you see some chains on the ground. |
s | There's a group of spooky-looking jailers in the corner. |
s | They're kind of waving their arms menacingly. |
s | Wait, wait, wait. Did you say "wave"? |
s | -Like Primordial Wave. -Nobody said that. |
s | I've got it! Eureka! |
s | The person who wanted to do the murder |
s | used Primordial Wave |
s | to murderize. |
s | They must have used this to transform Denathrius into a frog, |
s | before squishing him. |
s | That's balderdash! |
s | Primordial Wave is a Shaman spell, |
s | and this location card says Warrior. |
s | That's pretty smart, yeah. |
s | Okay, so, I want to question somebody from around the area. |
s | Liv, that's... that's a really good idea. |
s | On the floor, right in front of you, you can't miss him, |
s | is an emaciated-looking... |
s | Priest of the Deceased, who's been drained of all of his anima. |
s | This Priest of the Deceased has the brand-new Infused keyword, |
s | which means he needs anima to regain his lost strength. |
s | Infused cards in your hand will drink in the lost anima |
s | whenever a friendly minion dies. |
s | And once they collect enough, |
s | they'll transform into more-powerful versions of themselves, |
s | complete with new artwork. |
s | Hmm. Let me see. |
s | All right. |
s | I think I've got it. |
s | I know whodunit, |
s | and I'm ready to conclude my investigation. |
s | But we just started playing. |
s | Okay, well, let's hear it. |
s | I believe that Sire Denathrius was murdered by none other |
s | than Decimator Olgra. |
s | [Decimator Olgra cackles] Vengeance for the vanquished! |
s | [Val] First, Decimator Olgra lured Sire Denathrius |
s | down to the Sanguine Depths, |
s | a location deep within Castle Nathria |
s | and far away from the rest of the party. |
s | There she overpowered him with the Conqueror's Banner, |
s | a weapon that has coincidently gone missing. |
s | -And that is elementary, my dear friends. -[Liv laughs] |
s | That's preposterous. |
s | Detective Liv, why is it preposterous? |
s | Well, I... I rolled a 16 for preposterousness, |
s | so I'm pretty sure it's preposterous. |
s | And to prove it, I've decided to choose |
s | Prince Renathal to assist me in the investigation. |
s | [eerie organ chords] |
s | [Prince Renathal] Darkest greetings to you. |
s | [Cora] Building a deck with Prince Renathal |
s | will let you recruit ten more cards to join your investigation. |
s | You will also start the game with 10 more Health. |
s | And, if you log in right now, |
s | you can receive the Prince Renathal Legendary Card for free. |
s | Liv, you, uh, aren't exactly working with a full deck here, |
s | so you are gonna need all the help you can get. |
s | Prince Renathal's not gonna lead me astray, |
s | so we'd like to investigate the dungeon. |
s | Cool. Okay. Awesome. |
s | So, it's dark, but you can just barely make out |
s | a creepy painting on the wall, |
s | with eyes that seem to follow you as you move. |
s | There's a vase covered in cobwebs, and a-- |
s | Wait. You said "vase," right? |
s | -Like Baroness Vashj. -Yeah. |
s | My first and final suspect is going to be Lady Baroness Vashj. |
s | [eerie organ chords] |
s | [Baroness Vashj] The House of Eyes is gone. |
s | [Liv] She always suspected Denathrius was behind the plot |
s | to destroy the House of Eyes. |
s | And Vashj is one to hold a grudge against Denathrius for his grand betrayal. |
s | That's absurd. |
s | In fact, it's very un-surd. |
s | I do not think that means what you think it means. |
s | I've deducted far more than enough to blow this case wide open. |
s | Lady Vashj would lure Denathrius out to the Muck Pools. |
s | It's very lovely this time of year |
s | and he likes to take long walks around the mire. |
s | But it's the perfect place to spring a trap. |
s | If Vashj was going to squish Denathrius, |
s | she would need a minion bigger than him to do the squishing. |
s | Ah, but you forget that Denathrius is clever |
s | and could have easily escaped. |
s | You are precisely correct, Val. |
s | He did escape, |
s | and he used Door of Shadows to do so. |
s | -[thunder crashes] -[distant scream] |
s | -[Liv] So, where did he go? -Well, back to the castle, of course. |
s | You both follow the trail, |
s | and as you walk inside, |
s | you're approached by a Suspicious Usher, |
s | who smiles wide and pulls out three Legendary Cards. |
s | [Suspicious Usher] A plus-one. |
s | Detective Liv, I mustache you to pick a card. |
s | -I choose this one. -[Cora] Okay. |
s | Uh, Detective Valerie, which one did she pick? |
s | She'd be foolish not to have chosen Lyra. |
s | I chose Renathal. |
s | But you already have Prince Renathal. |
s | Having two doesn't help your investigation. |
s | But now I've proven I am the more brilliant detective, hmm? |
s | Yes, yes. You're both brilliant detectives. It's... |
s | It's really something, watching you work. |
s | So, who's right? |
s | Well... [sighs] |
s | ...you both make compelling cases. |
s | However, the truth is... |
s | [suspenseful organ music intensifies] |
s | -[thunder crashes] -[Cora screams] |
s | [thunder rumbling] |
s | Oh, no! Another murder! |
s | Looks like we have another case to solve. |
s | I'm gonna need another notepad. |
s | I'm gonna go grab my dice. |
s | [thunder crashes] |
s | [ghostly breath] |
s | [whirring] |
s | Are we good? Okay. |
s | Can I keep this? |
s | [eerie organ music] |
