used to get 90-122fps min, still get around 112-160 in the city areas, but when i look into fields I'm dumping to 40-58fps....

That's such a tedious waste of time. Shouldn't have to redownload the entire game to fix an update issue.
An update means new game data overwiting old game data. Steam packs it all into one package, so there is a big chance if the file gets corrupted, that things might go wrong. Fresh installs are always best.
