I'm not entirely sure why, but generally HLL has had a weapon size issue, mainly in 3rd person.
Many gamedev animators love to use Hickock45 hands as a reference, but they made a huge mistake when introducing new animations as they didnt keep them in consistent size both for 1st and 3rd person.
As you can see on the picture the in-game size of M1 Garand is approximately the size of irl M1 Carbine as opposed to the picture from Band of Brothers for instance.

It is possible to fix and not very hard, though I guess they can when they will be introducing Inverse Kinematics, which, for some reason they forgot to include after promising the addition in U7 update.
