We’re adding a new feature to Heroes of the Storm that will allow you to charge into battle with an extra bit of flair: introducing Mastery Rings!
Reaching level 15 with a hero you own will unlock the ability to use gold to purchase a Mastery Ring for that hero, which will be displayed in game as an extra adornment of your hero’s regular selection circle. Additionally, when you reach level 25 with that hero you can then purchase an even more distinct Mastery Ring with gold.
Q: Can I get Mastery Rings for more than one hero?
A: You can get Mastery Rings for as many heroes as you like, given than you’ve reached at least level 15 with those heroes.
Q: Do I purchase these rings for each Hero separately?
A: Yes. These rings signify experience playing individual heroes and let other players know that you know how to play your chosen hero, so Mastery Rings are hero-specific.
Q: When will Mastery Rings become availa...

Junkrat and Whitemane were reworked for more dynamic and interesting play. Here’s the details of the changes!
Overview:
The wildly destructive Jamison Fawkes (A.K.A. Junkrat) is one of the most popular Overwatch Heroes in the roster. While he is consistently represented in the meta, we feel like his talent diversity is less than ideal. This update is our opportunity to create more interactive and interesting talent and Heroic options while ensuring he remains the manic hyper-carry he’s always been. Our primary focus with these changes is to increase the power of his less popular build paths, remove unnecessary talents, and round out his other builds to be on par with Frag Launcher. Armed with some new toys, this deranged demolitionist is ready to rain havoc and bedlam on the battlefield!

Read moreWith the launch of Storm League season 1 we have seen a dramatic improvement in rank distribution. One of the primary changes in this release was in how rank is determined. In the past, rank and rating were two entirely different concepts, both of which were updated differently after each game. It was very common for a player's rank and rating to diverge throughout each season which could cause the matchmaking system to struggle to find games.
With the changes introduced this season, rank is always updated by taking the change in rating and determining the equivalent number of rank points to reward. This leaves very few ways rating and rank can diverge and results in most players being shown a number equivalent to their rating.
Overall, we are very happy with how the changes are looking; however, we are aware of the inconsistencies players are currently experiencing in Bronze 5. With the new design, players in Bronze 5 will gain/lose far fewer points per game than ...

With the launch of our latest PTR, we also need to officially announce that Storm League seasonal play will be delayed, and a new start date had to be set.
The adjusted deployment date is because we have a lot of incredible changes coming to Storm League that the team knew didn’t want to launch without, so they need a little more time.

Of course, there are a lot of additional details on these coming shortly, perhaps alongside a few extra surprises as well. Thank you for your patience – we believe it will be well worth the wait!
