@ThomasFrick This is so lovely, Thomas ๐
@OtiumTerrae Just started playing too and also really loving it! You should add me so we can trade/battle ๐
@ThomasFrick Love this one, man
Also, I'm only able to be fast doing this, because I did 100 other similar drawings, in the past, it's "comfort zone", in some way. When I had to make the logo for Hytale, I spent maybe 1 entire month trying to get it right...Hundreds of attempts before it started looking OK.
Also..."Speed" shouldn't be a goal for any artist. It's nice to be able to concept things quickly, but it's also OK to take hours or days of practise to study something and go deep in a topic to understand and learn. Speedpaint is fun, but it shouldn't be aimed for at any cost.
Also, the last 10% to finish a piece and make it "perfect" are for me the most terrible. This is were you need to decide if you should stop, or continue investing time. And it's the last 10% that takes the longest. I could spend another 20 hours on it without it to look final.
It could sound like it's super "fast" to get to this result.But this is not always like this. Many many time, I fail drawings, even after years and years of practise, and it's a natural thing for many artists. We often show the things we are the most proud of, and hide the worst.
Here, a "result versus time spent" comparision ...There's no shame showing how "rough" a drawing starts. It was really not looking glorious in the start, but there was still something I liked in the colors and composition. So I decided to invest more time, 1 year after.
I should put more time into tweets, always ends up with typos lmao
I spent a bit of time refining and improving a small speedpaint I made past year: it's called...The Flower Thief. #digitalpainting #illustration #gameart #conceptart
Caved and got the new Pokรฉmon, not played since Pearl. I'm enjoy it a lot ๐
I am very happy I have such grammar aware followers. Stay in school kids! :D (I also knew alot isn't a word per se, it's just a result of laziness)
My phone likes to auto-correct "alot" to all caps "ALOT" so whenever I'm typing something quickly that ends with "alot" and hit send too fast it makes it seems like I'm overly impressed. "It's raining ALOT."

I know some of you like photos by night/rain, so here are some from yesterday evening!
